Randall Creek Murdered Debbie Rediess

SMITHS GROVE, Ky.  - Not sure if any of you have been following this or not, but I found it kind of interesting. The actual story concerns a Sheriff’s Deputy, Randall Creek, 41, who shot his ex-girlfriend, Debbie Rediess, 46, to death in her driveway after a 3-month breakup. He was then on the run and was apprehended on Saturday at a Days Inn in Waterloo, Iowa. Case closed, kinda. What makes the case interesting is the fact that Creek sent two emails to  Bowling Green Daily News. One shortly before the shooting and then one after. You can read portions of both after the jump.
On Sunday, 3hours before the shooting, Creek sent this:

I usually right letters concerning our local, state, and federal government issues. Today I want to talk about another subject that has been near to my heart lately. The subject I am referring to is love and committment to your spouse. Me and my girlfriend of 5 years recently broke up due to the fact that I did not set a date for our wedding and that I did not take our relationship serious enough. I have been married before and the thought of getting married again scared me to death. The lady I recently dated is a great lady that loved me to death but she eventually got tired of waiting for me to set a wedding date so she finally ended our relationship. I don’t blame her for leaving but I guess the message I am trying to get across to couples in this area is never take for granted that your spouse or girlfriend will always be there. Love each other every day through the good and bad times and the rewards will outweigh any monetary gain available. I know it is probably too late between me and my ex-girlfriend to rekindle what we had but my goal is to encourage couples to tell each other that they love each other on a daily basis. Both parties should do special things for each other because there is no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow.
To my darling Debbie I love you very much and I hope that one day we will be married and live happily ever after.

Well, something happened after this was sent that left Debbie lying dead in her driveway. The email that was sent after the shooting was as follows:

I want to say how sorry I am for what happened but what’s done is done. Let’s talk about how we got to this point in my life. I dated Debbie Rediess for 5 years and I loved her very much. She constantly wanted to change me throughout our dating period but I never satisfied her completely. I treated her like a queen compared to her ex-husband John Rediess. We went on nice vacations, concerts, ballgames, sports bars, etc. all of the time. She broke up with me on our 5 year anniversary but she still had lunch dates with me the past couple of months and continued to hug, kiss, hold hands, and have sex with me but she also was having sex with another guy at the same time. 10 days ago we had sex and she wanted to get back together and she also stated she was going to tell the other guy about our recent ventures and cut him loose. On Saturday 10/4/08 she went out with him again to end things and when I did not hear from her Saturday night and early Sunday morning my suspicions kicked in. I was right on the money and he was sleeping in the bed I slept in for 5 years. When I assasinated her in her driveway her new boyfriend aka “Billy Ray Cyrus” saw me and he was scared off his ass and ran into the house like a smart human being. I know I am not the geatest looking guy but I have always done well with the ladies and for the love of my life to leave me for that ugly SOB was unbelievable. I am not running to get away but I am going to make the KSP earn their money on this one. I have called and now e-mailed everyone to give them leads so when we finally meet up I will cuff up like a man or as Deputy Tim Phillips of the Simpson County Jail calls it being 21 about it. FYI – I have never been armed after the encounter and there will be no chase or struggle I assure you. Finally, I love Andre’ my 19 year old handsome son more than anything in this world and I hope you great things with your life. Love to Andre’, my mother, my brother, David Gordon, Cody Gordon, David Ramsey, Phillips Resch, Patrick Solomon, Ted Sitz, Tim Phillips, and all of my other friends and family. This is what the US Army has produced a desert storm killer and there will be more like me I assure you.

When the KSP comes and finally gets me I am requesting Todd Holder from the KSP and Capt. Brent Brown of the WCSO to do the transport because I have a lot of respect for both of them.

This guy has ruined so many lives with this selfish act. Not meaning to downplay his deed, as this story is no less heinous than anything else we feature here at D’D, but we do not usually have the mindset of the accused before and after the act as well as some insight into both the family of the victim AND the accused. Just thought it worth checking out. A pretty shitty situation for all involved. I wish them all luck…aside from Randall Creek. I don’t wish him any luck at all.

    I don't think that the bastard will get any mercy from law enforcement because he was never really liked anyway. He owes what little of a career he had to one influential person he was was friends with. Also, fortunately, in KY bail bondsmen are illegal so he will have to come up with it himself, and he doesn't have any money. I also want to say that my family appreciates the kindness and anger being expressed by strangers around the country because of this senseless and traumatic act. We hope that we can get something positive to come out of this because that would be Debbie's wishes. If one person's life can be spared from this type of tragedy then she did not die in vain.

    I'm a court clerk. Most often when bonds are set, the defendant must pay the full amount ... (called a cash bond) but if they hire a professional bondsperson to post bond for them (called a surety bond), the professional usually charges the defendant 10%. I've heard of a few counties who do a 10% cash bond but I'm not sure that is a common practice. At least it is not done in my state. Professional bondspersons must be bonded/insured for the total amount they have out on the books for all the defendants they have bonded, so finding a bondsperson willing to insure $1,000,000 to a court knowing a case will take a year or more is sometimes difficult.

    I mean, he made a death threat against that Strode dude, so I don't know what the judge was thinking setting any bail.

    I hope the fact he made a threat against another law enforcment person and the fact that he made them do an asinine "manhunt" for him mitigates against the "blue wall of silence" that so often protects offenders who happen to be in law enforcement.

    Debbie Rediess, was one of the most wonderful people you could have ever met, but she was picked off her mothers shoulder, JoAnne and Debbie were just alike , loving and giving to all, and Dustin was bringing up the rear so to speak until Randall Creek, put a Hell of dent in this family's life .....and his, I was at the funeral home ....saw the pain this MF caused, it was so sad .......so unnessary ......

    I believe everyone is entitled to their opinions, but only when they have all of the facts. I have known Debbie my whole life and she was an incredible person. Her best characteristics, and eventually her greatest downfall, were her ability to only see the good in people and her incredible compassion and love for everyone she ever met. She was never a skank or a whore. As a matter of fact, she spent so much time caring for her family and friends that she had very little time for herself. She was a very hard working mother, grandmother, and daughter who devoted herself fully to the people she loved. Randall is a controlling, arrogant prick who couldn't handle rejection. She put up with him for 5 years before she finally broke up with him. She was such an incredible person that she even did this as nicely as she could and treated him with more respect than he ever deserved. He seemed to handle all of this well for 2 month until she began dating a new guy and then he began stalking her. She never feared him or saw any of this coming. There is a huge community that is mourning her loss. This selfish bastard destroyed the lives of so many people and left an unfillable void in the community, nearly 1000 people came to the funeral home to pay their last respects. I wish nothing but love and luck to her two wonderful sons and to Randall's son. All of these boys are friends and are trying to work through this tragedy together. I have only known 2 people in my life that my cynical ass could not find anything bad to say about and Debbie was one of them. I really wish Randall would have come home in a body bag to spare the families anymore pain or suffering. His psychosis is so extreme that he was able to make Debbie into a bad person in his head because she didn't want to put up with his abuse any longer. Anyone that reads his ramblings and believes them is as twisted as that sorry sack of shit. I pray that he gets to be in general population when he gets to prison because a bigotted cop like him will get what he deserves.

    Well said SpeakupKY. It was nice to read about Debbie and the way she cared for her children/grandchildren. I think that speaks so much about what kind of person she was. It is unfortunate that she is no longer in their lives. Sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing & saying what you felt was right.

    I am saddened that such "soul" lessness exists in our current world. To be real honest, I am sick to my stomach to think that I have children being raised in a world that could allow someone like "biteme" to rant such thoughless, useless, baseless jargon at free will.     I am from this small town that seems to be so popular right now and I feel the record must be set straight...especially to honor Debbie and her sons on this day. NO...she was not a skank or slut. She is very well known in this community and she is loved by all. This man, Randall Creek, has been obsessed with her for nearly 10 years...yes I said 10. Even when she was married to her previous husband (and father of those boys you see in the clip) of better than 20 years. Together, they ran a local family business. The young men that they raised together are wonderful additions to this community. Both excelling in their own ways. The oldest (and namesake of his father) has a beautiful loving young wife and two darling children whom I am very close too. They go to work every day and live a normal simple life as a family in a small town USA. Ally and Bradley will never be fully aware of the love their grandmother had for them. They won't remember the gleam in her eyes when she held them. Ally, just a toddler where everything is new and exciting, and Bradley just an infant changing everyday....grandmother stolen. Ripped from their lives in seconds. Then there's the youngest, what big things were in store for him. He's smart and talented, kind and caring. While in highschool he was a Governor's Scholar. How proud we were of him. He was a member of the Drama Club and well loved within the school. He just started his freshman year in Murry State University with a scholarship earned by graduating with high honors from high school, a new member of a fraternity family with the world standing before him. This man took their world and altered it for all of them forever. Nothing will be the same. What will become of these outstanding young men? How will the rest of their lives be affected by this one man's egotistical act?

    Not to mention the mother and father of Debbie, they are forced with burying their only child today. What pain and grief they must be feeling. All by the hands of one man.

    Shame on you "biteme". I am taunted with many emotions right now. Anger for the words spoken on this public site, saddness for the world these young people are faced with.

    This community loved and respected this family. This community is mourning the loss of an honorable women that was just beginning anew.

    A word about Andre, his son, also a victim in this needless tragedy. We love you Andre. No need for anymore apologies. You are a victim too. The Rediess family welcomes you and will help you mourn. We will carry this burden together.

This man deserves no press coverage or disturbed followers. This man ripped this small town into pieces. We will never be the same.

    I noted from the video on the site IBLE posted that Shitscreek was still officially employed at the Simpson Cty Sherriff's Offc up til Sunday. Scary.

    There are some real jackasses on the site IBLE posted..."it was a crime of passion." Um, yeah, that's why he coldly refers to it as an "assassination."

    From all accounts, Debbie was a loving mother to her two sons and everyone she came into contact with. Her only "crime" was having the misfortune to meet this worthless narcaisstic piece of garbage.
    Also, I don't care if she walked around with a shirt saying she was open 24/7. NOBODY deserves to be executed in their own home like a piece of garbage. Whatever flaws she had (and we all have them), she didn't kill anyone in cold blood so do a favor and defend your friend someplace else. You won't find sympathy for him here (nor should you anywhere else.

What type of person are you? Does it matter that she slept with her ex and one other person? If that is something that gives anyone the right to assinate another then this whole world better look out because there are more people than you think that have done that at one point in their life.

    The stupid SOB sent the emails from the Marion county library and taunted the police into finding him. It was the local news this morning.

    The police tracked the computer and found him at the Days Inn. He even signed his emails with his own name and signed into the motel with his own name having shown his drivers license.

    God it pisses me off when the rednecks from my area show their stupidity.

    And I'm really sorry for Debbie and her family and his kids.....

    Unfortunately a lot of them are. That's why they go into that line of work. They are either fascinated by crime, were once juvies themselves, or just like feeling the power and carrying a gun around.

    I know many cops that are good people, but have met/heard of more that aren't. I guess it all depends on what their motivation was for becoming a cop. This guy had issues. Probably got picked on a lot.

    And biteme, anyone can do what ever they want. First you don't know that the victim was sleeping around besides her new boyfriend. And even if she was, that's her business. There didn't seem to be an issue for the last five years, so I doubt she was sleeping around.

    If he didn't like her behavior, oh well, time to move on. Men just can't let go.

    Rory: go to the video I linked to. There, the killer's son freely said what he had to say--on camera--about how he felt bad for the victim's family. Hence, you don't need to worry protesting on his behalf. He has no problem with his face being shown. He is ashamed of what his father did and he's saddened by it.

    Props to DD for exposing predators, evil-doers, perverts and murderers and educating the public that, sadly, evil does not always wear a hideous mask, have manson-crazy eyes or ramirez-manson-like tattoos... but, more often than not, looks just like our neighbors, our teachers, our pastors, ourselves.     We'd always rather find a photo of a murderer without his child in it, but sometimes we have to work with what we have. If you have a shot of this guy alone, without his kid, please feel free to send it along. I agree completely! This guy was in law enforcement. He knows very well how to try to make it look like he’s somehow not at fault.

    While he's hurting, Andre Creek says it's not near the pain being felt by the Rediess family.

    "People keep telling me they're praying for me. It's so much harder on them than it is me."

    And as both families try to figure out how to move on, Debbie Rediess'' sons just want their mother remembered for what she was.

    "My mom she was a great woman. It's a great loss to anybody. It's a great loss to us," John Rediess said.

    State police tell us they're still searching in the Louisville Metro area for Creek.

    KSP says even if he's not there, it's likely he's left some type of evidence that will help them with their search.

We were told our entire lives "You have every right to be angry as hell, but NO right to put your hands on another human being." Randall Creek thought out his plan, and executed it as well as he did Debbie Redines. I feel so sorry for his son. How can he believe that his father loved him? The man told Debbie everyday and publicly that he loved her, and that just cant be right. Can you love someone and the blow their brains all over a oil stained driveway? Assassinations are executions, cold-blooded, and completely pre-meditated. He went over there with his loaded gun and he killed her. It wasn't a "crime of passion." It was planned.

    This guy is so messed up in the head--so sure of his right to do what he did--but he's also a calculating law enforcement member.     "If you keep the inmates busier, it'll cut down on your inmate-on-inmate assaults, your suicide attempts, your inmate-on-deputy assaults."

    But he also wants to extend church services in the jail to every evening, allowing more denominations to have services and to increase visitation for inmates from 15 minutes twice a week to 30 minutes three times a week.
