zibarro- yes in reading that over I see where I did misstate or not word my thoughts correctly. I agree with you. I think this was more of a situation where she had already drank, her judgment was way off and she was unable to handle her daughter with complete clarity. I guess I see it as a tragedy for Bianca and those who loved her. A tragedy that no one realized Karrae was using alcohol to this level. A tragedy because this didn’t have to happen… it wasn’t intentional but a poor choice. Yes, a tragedy because that baby girl loved her mommy too and the thought of what she was thinking when this happened to her keeps me awake at all hours of the night. I guess that was and still is somewhat the only word I can think of to describe this.

oh Zibarro, I know better than to be argumentative (dneil is ducking)… :p and I completely respect what you are saying and can see where I wasn’t clear with what I was meaning. And perhaps it is that this particular case has bothered me to the point where I have reflected back on the very stupid chances I had taken when I was younger. I thank God that I didn’t make any poor choices that hurt anyone, especially my children, while I was making poor choices.

I looked up the word tragedy because I wondered if that was really what I should call it and I am still going to call it that. It means, ” a disastrous event especially one involving distressing loss or injury to life. “

I don’t know… dneilz can be a little ‘off’ on days… I’ll be good. I think I need some calgon… the husband is being a real jerk today/night. blah

DNeilz – I normally don’t disagree with you – and I agree with most of what you’ve written here —– but —– this was more than just a “terrible tragedy”. A “terrible tragedy” is when your child dies by accidental means. Although Karrae may not have intended Bianca to die – she did something to that child that caused her to die. Just as a drunk driver doesn’t “intend” to kill anyone – it doesn’t excuse him when he does. And rarely does anyone go after the bartender that served him.
I don’t want to see Karrae go down for murder – but I also don’t think that she should just walk free, either. Something she did killed that precious child.
The first thing she did to seal Bianca’s fate was to drink on top of those drugs. No one poured the alcohol down her throat – she chose it. You can’t say “she was too young to make such a decision or be held accountable for it”. If that were so – she sure as hell shouldn’t have been raising a child. If she couldn’t make the right choices for herself - Bianca was doomed from the git go.
Perhaps involuntary manslaughter – or even voluntary… but I agree it shouldn’t rise to the scope of “murder” in any degree.
I don’t want to be argumentative. I respect your opinion. I just don’t agree with ALL of it.

This is probably the first time I have ever really been able to somewhat understand how this could happen. I too have taken some of these psychotropic drugs and also have drank on them. You actually become a walking zombie on them…add alcohol and it is worse. I missed a lot of my life while on those medications and drinking and I thank God I wasn’t one of those people who have hurt someone or myself while on this mix.
I certainly am not out to hurt anyone and I, like you, want to see the person who provided the alcohol to be found and brought to justice. And as far as the prescribing doctor… yes, he should be investigated. Doctors these days throw pills at you and rarely keep a close eye on you. Trust me, I was given a very bad mix about 6 years ago and ended up in the Emergency room. It is ridiculous how over used psychotropic drugs are used.
It has been noted, no just by me, but by other members here that her myspace certainly does reflect that Karrae loves her daughter. Pictures truly do speak thousands of words. She is a young girl and I hope that someday she will be able to once again set her feet toward her future. Perhaps One Day, she will be able to forgive herself for the mistakes she has made. This could have happened to anyone if they were in her shoes. There will be many who may not agree with me, but I have come to the absolute conclusion that this was NOT murder, but a terrible tragedy that happened because of the poor choice to drink. She wouldn’t have been drinking if some idiot had NOT provided her the alcohol. And if HE was there, why did he not help Karrae from this happening. Why didn’t he call you, or her dad or someone for help??? Do you know what her blood alcohol was?

DNeilz, Wouldn’t that be lovely if they did. But as I discussed with you privately the person who provided the alcohol is known by the police to be her ex. I just don’t think they particularly care about that or anything else that has contributed to this. I have shared these facts with her attorney I assure you. I suppose it can’t be said enough. Unfortunately, I’m guessing that although Karrae was under 21 the police see her as an adult because she was 18. If I knew at 18 what I know now… The biggest factor here is that a licensed practitioner of psychiatric medicine who knew her history, actually prescribed several medications that shouldn’t have been prescribed to someone under the age of 25 not to mention together. And he in fact, is under investigation. He is in fact in jeopardy of losing his license to practice medicine and is under investigation related to others he prescribed meds to. I hate what is happening to Karrae and I hate that an innocent child is dead. I loved that chld. Anyone of us could have done more to help Karrae…ABSOLUTELY! I think about it every single day. Sadly, many children are taught throughout thier lives that drugs and alcohol are great coping mechanisms. Some people live thier whole lives never knowing that there could be consequences for this…while others lives are changed forever in an instant. I believe whole heartedly that there were other things at play here… I wish I had the answers indefinitely and never had to hear a debate about this or feel compelled to respond. And while I feel so strongly about it…what right do I have to say anything now, after the fact? As I look back at my own role in Karrae’s life I ask myself why. WHY? Why did this happen when everything seemed to be going good just a few moments earlier? WHY? Sure I get to know what but I’ll never ever accept why. It will hurt Karrae and this family forever. I wonder if the police will delve further into this but they don’t seem interested in the hows or whys…just the whos. They have had information and been asked the questions. Right now it seems hard to hang on to hope. And sometimes it’s all I have to grasp for.

Sunnyday 78…. It is apparent that you do care. I am sorry if anything I have personally said has offended or hurt you. Please understand that children every single day, innocent defenseless children, are murdered by the very hands that god entrusted them to be nurtured with….. yes, their own parents. I understand tragedies happen. The true tragedy is that this young single mom did not have the much needed guidance and support that she needed in order to keep something like this from happening.

And yes, I do have a problem with whomever provided this young woman with alcohol. I hope they realize that they are the first domino to fall costing Bianca and Karrae their life.

I do believe Caitlin loves her sister and also Bianca. Whether someone has posted here and there under her name still remains to be unclear. I am sure Karrae is broken hearted….

and yes, I am sure there IS much more to this whole situation. And I would hope that whoever was involved in providing the alcohol to Karrae will step up and take some of the consequences that Karrae is facing.

It’s always good when someone takea a person’s pain and makes a joke of it. Well what is life without humor and sarcasm? I didn’t mean that as a world wide statement clearly it was personalized, as this has certainly changed the way I veiw life. I’m pretty sure it would do that for anyone in similar circumstances. As to why Karrae is being charged…The facts I was referring to were about who provided alcohol and such since everyone keeps bringing it up. I know Karrae didn’t do anything to intentionally harm her child and that is all I have to say about it. And that’s all I need to know at the end of the day.

Dneilz: it is weird, but now I can see karraes myspace page again, where at one time I was banned. I mean, truly banned. Well my hope is that they figure out exactly what happened to this precious child and deliver the proper justice to whom deserves said justice. My concern ultimately is that Bianca’s death bring about some changes so that situations like this are prevented. It is too late to save Bianca’s life, but it isn’t too late for other children who may be in danger by an adult (parent or not). It will be interesting to see what happens with the trial. Praying for Bianca to have some justice you were banned!!!! ROFL You Avenger you!!! Keep it up!

I just want to make it plainly known that contrary to what anyone says, Caitlin was not at that house until after the police had arrived and Karrae’s father arrived just prior to the police as he was on his way to her house. The only person who was at that house was not in the house and that was Billy. According to police records. I don’t like these forums yet I find myself reading these awful things in horror. I love Karrae so much and she is going through a lot right now. I have been to her court hearings and I speak with her on a regular basis. She is devastated and of course still in shock. Don’t you think the police have the facts? I know they do because I have had to hear them plainly. They know who provided alcohol, they know who was or wasn’t at the house. They have an ongoing investigation of course. The law doesn’t overlook things of relevance they just don’t disclose all the details. And neither will I. Because this family has been torn to shreds under the scrutiny of the public. A public who didn’t have a view of Karrae’s life at all. A public who could easily find themselves in a situation that rocks the foundations of life. This is horrible and it’s so easy to point fingers and lay blame. I too have been guilty of the very same thing when I watched the news about others. Then it became personal for me and I suddenly understood the pain and loss I never wanted to know. Csitlin loves her sister and she is hurting. She is young and she has lost a lot. Yes she lashes out…wouldn’t you be angry if someone spoke about people you loved so dearly and missed? She is trying to cope not only with the loss of her neice but the loss of her sister. I will regret placing myself under this scrutiny of course, but I have to speak for my girls. Because I know them. Because I know the truth of their lives. Because we all have been young and anyone is subject to find themselves in a tragic situation. It’s so simple to tell others what must be done to change a situation in hindsight. But in the midst of things its hard to see possible outcomes when you believe the help being sought is going to be effective. I don’t know how this will turn out. Only that I miss Bianca every day and I miss Karrae.

Friends and family members who support their loved one after they do something like what Karrae seems to have done are pretty cool in my book, but the ones like Caitlin here, who either have the common sense and intelligence of a gopher or are just plain lying, really make me crazy.
