MOORPARK, Cal — It still isn’t clear exactly how a 13-year-old girl came to live with 46-year old Shawn Damon Barth, as he had previously dated the young girl’s mother. But what is clear is the fact that Barth has been charged with child rape, oral copulation on a child and continuous sexual abuse.
The girl was held captive for 3 months in a motor home parked in an orchard. Police say that for 3 months, the girl was used as a sex slave and raped daily sometimes up to 5 or 6 times a day. She was never allowed to leave the motor home except to go to school. It was someone at this school that noticed something wasn’t quite right and notified authorities.
Barth is currently being held in the Ventura County Jail on a 1 million dollar bond. I’ll update this story as more information comes out. Like, who the hell is the girl in relation to Barth.

Sep 18, 2008 at 2:46 pm -The mom’s not dead. The story posted over in the forums indicated that he brought the girl from San Bernadino County to live with him in May, but that the mom stayed behind in San Bernadino. The relationship between Barth and the mom was unclear.
The mom is cooperating with authorities on the investigation.
This one is a sticky wicket….can’t wait to hear the real truth of this arrangement, and why this girl was living this this dude. ((Shudder))

The school became suspicious after requesting routine transfer papers from her last school. It was then they learned that Barth had molestation charges before.

I also can’t imagine not seeing my child for the entire 3 months. I’m assuming her mother didn’t see her or she would have at least SUSPECTED something was wrong.
I’m anxious to hear about “mom” as something just doesn’t sit well with me about her.

Why on gods green earth a mother would allow her young daughter to live with a grown man who seemingly is NOT related to her is beyond me. Although living with a relative does not mean you will be safe.

1.) Choose a very high cliff.
2.) Pound a tall stake into the ground.
3.) Select a particularly vile rapist, and bring him to the cliff.
4.) Cut around his anus, & tie his colon to the stake.
5.) Kick the bastard off of the cliff, watch them unravel from the inside. (look out for the quick stop, creep!)
I think that they will quickly learn how much pain they’ve caused, and be a very nice example for the rest.
BTW: I’m a 52 yr. old male that was raped when I was 6… dear ‘ol Mom’s boyfriend, at her behest. The reason given was that I irritated him, and her, with too many questions. I want to see every one of them get a measure of the injuries they bring.

That poor girl, this will never leave her, and I pray that she has help to be a somewhat “normal” adult, and not let this totally destroy her. Oh, this is so sad!!

Sep 19, 2008 at 8:53 am -I’m trying to imagine — even if let’s say I had a boyfriend who’d lived with my 12 year old daughter Cait and me, and we had problems and I had issues and he said, “Hey, Cait can stay with me for the summer.”
I’m positive no matter what I was on, that I’d have the little Jiminy Cricket in my mind that would say, “Um…no. Even if I trust him that seems like a bad idea, just her and him.” and I would say, “Um…no. I’ll figure something else out, but thanks all the same.”
And that would be in the best case scenario if he’d never been abusive to me and it was ME who was screwed up and shouldn’t have my daughter for a while.
I know these people are not like those of us who don’t hurt children but damn — I’d have to know more about how this arrangement came about because I can’t fathom what that mom was smoking.
Even when my husband’s friends say things like, “Caitlyn’s growing up very pretty,” my inner tigress comes out and I want to tie off their balls, just to be safe. And I KNOW those guys don’t mean nothing by it, and aren’t criminals.
