Willie Ray Edens & Neisseria gonorrhoeae, the bacterium causing gonorrhea
Lufkin, TX - Last month, a mother took her 2-year-old daughter to an emergency room, where it was discovered that the child had gonorrhea.
As you may know, a woman can pass gonorrhea onto her baby as it passes through the birth canal, causing an eye infection. However, with the exception of those newborns, gonorrhea in any prepubescent child usually has a more sinister origin: sexual abuse.
Oddly enough, the man who had been caring for the toddler — 27-year-old Willie Ray Edens — turned out to also have the clap. Monday, police arrested Edens for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
No information has been released about the condition of the toddler or the nature of the alleged assault and resultant siting of the infection. Frankly, knowing that it could be her throat, vagina, or rectum doesn’t make me feel any better. Further, although it’s not uncommon for a carrier to be asymptomatic, I hope the little girl immediately showed some mild and painless symptoms — a bit of vaginal discharge, perhaps — since untreated gonorrhea in females can result in Pelvic Imflammatory Disease and/or infertility.
Edens has a MySpace profile that suggests he fancies himself a DJ. It also belies his blog statement that the has “the woman of my dreams” and “greats (sic) kids,” as he only bothered to upload three photos — all of a car (one is used as his profile picture).
While there’s no indication that Edens admitted to police that he assaulted the toddler, he did tell them he probably got gonorrhea from a hooker and that he paid prostitutes for sex multiple times a month. According to Edens, he has “a large sex drive” (unlike 99.9% of men on this planet, of course) and a problem with pornography. Nice.

She had just started when she saw her first case of this same thing, and she said she was completely baffled and naive. Now, after just a few years, it’s like completely common and she sees it all the time.
Such a sick fucking world. Poor little girl. Guess now he can spread his gono all over cell block.

Just curious Why shy picked HIM to leave her child with. I NEVER leave my son with a man that is not his father or family. I am even leary about he teen (boy) cousin… Must be all the time I spend here. But the teen is mostly because of the langnuage I’m afraid he’ll pick up. Second grade teachers are not found of the word “fuck” or “shit”. It hardly ever (never) shows up on a spelling test.

We just aren’t wired to see them as cute bundles of joy but more likely as loud, stinky, sticky little bundles of pure terror. I have dated women with children and I certianly did not offer to “baby sit”. Familey outting sure (there even fun - but mom had to be there), maybe pick them up from school once or twice cause mom was late but neither mom nor I would be comfortable with them spending the day with just me (frankly I would give them more candy in one day than there mom would in a month and we’d all be in trouble when she found out!). I guess it would be diffrent with marriage but as far as boyfriends be wary ladies.
