Forrest City, AR - It seems to me that no matter how much of a dirtbag, slime-sucking, dickwad, waste-of-space piece of shit a guy might be, there has to be at least the smallest bit of pride when the orifice in which he stuck his dick nine months ago produces a brand-new little person into this world. After all, when that tiny human being navigates the birth canal and draws in those first few breaths, that is proof right there that those sperm sacs he’s swingin’ around are carrying live ammo.
Reginald Davis’s sperm sacs are the real deal, because less than two weeks ago, a 15-year-old, uh, “young woman” in Forrest City, Arkansas, gave birth to his daughter. Now, Davis and the baby’s mother don’t live together, but at least he did stop in at her home Monday to visit. Maybe they talked, maybe they hugged, maybe they did a bit more, but apparently Davis was agreeable to watching the baby for a few minutes, because the mother left the infant with him while she showered and got ready for bed. And Davis celebrated this brief alone time with his eight-day-old daughter. He celebrated it by raping her and fracturing her skull.
Yeah, you read that right. Eight DAYS old. And yes, rape.

It is one thing to state that a man raped a newborn, but what does that mean? I didn’t want to know, but I felt like I ought to know. I felt like leaving it at “he raped her” risked diminishing the actual horror of the act. I felt like it was the least I could do for this little girl. And so I turned to our own NurseRonda, who has dealt with (I am sorry to say) many cases like this one. She was kind enough to spend some time on the phone with me to answer my questions and share some observations that have changed the content of my nightmares forever.
My first question was, of course, why? Why would a man spot a newborn infant and decide to try to push his dick into any of that infant’s orifices? As Ronda sees it, what occurs is not a decision-making process–there is no weighing of pros and cons, no consideration of possible consequences. The baby-raper does not see the being before him as an infant, or a daughter, or even a human–merely as an available array of openings that sets off the ringing of a victory bell to those parts of him that run on testosterone.
“But, Ronda,” I objected, “we’re talking about a newborn here. We’re talking about a tiny person, with tiny hands and feet and fingers and toes, and that means tiny everything else. He may as well try to shove his dick through a keyhole.”
“Lizard,” she told me, “(rapists) will stick their dicks in anything,” and she outlined for me some of the unlikely places in which penises have ventured. “The thing about a baby that is appealing is that it is tight.”
At this point I was outside with the dogs, and I spent some time walking around the back yard cursing. I think I even pleaded with Ronda to take it back or to come up with some other explanation. I pointed out that penile entry would hurt the baby; surely, the obvious signs of distress and pain would make the man stop, pull out, pull back, walk away, right?
“The first thing they do, Lizard,” Ronda said, “is cover the baby’s mouth with their hand.”
For an infant, the act of rape can cause catastrophic injuries to internal organs; some die.
Before we ended our call, I mentioned that Davis’s daughter had a fractured skull. That seemed to make sense from a forensic perspective for Ronda. “His hand on her face, he presses down with great force when he ejaculates.” In some cases, the man collapses onto the baby at this point. Ronda has worked with an infant whose spine was broken this way.
When the mother of the baby fathered by Reginald Davis finished her shower, she observed blood on her baby. Davis rode along when she and the baby’s grandmother took the infant to the Forrest City Medical Center; after the infant was examined, police were called and Davis was arrested. Because of the severity of her injuries, the baby was transferred to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.
