Bakersfield - Some Bakersfield residents made a grisly find on August 19th, when they decided to clean out some items from a storage shed they shared with others at Derrel’s Mini Storage. First they found what looked to be a severely decomposed hand, then later, in a separate container, skeletal remains were found. These remains were taken by investigators so that they could be examined. Supervising Deputy Coroner John Van Rensselaer has now stated that the remains were of two children 11 to 13-years-old, a boy and a girl, and have probably been dead for two to four years.
No sign of trauma has been noted but according to the coroner’s statement, they were Caucasian or Hispanic. Investigators are now working to identify the children using a comprehensive dental examination.
But there used to be a woman who lived with the family, and shared the storage facility with them. She had two kids who she later said had went back to Mexico to live with their father. She has since died. Anyone wanna make any bets on whether or not that the two kids never made it to Mexico?
Investigators are hoping that someone may know something about this case, and are asking anyone with information regarding the bodies can call the Sheriff’s Department at 861-3110.

At least they had one another that is one small happiness i am sure for them.
At least I hope.

It’s just sick that people leave dead bodies in a storage unit. Poor kids. I hope they died instantly instead of suffering for days, months at a time. RIP Kiddos

No proper burial either. just forgotten about like yesterdays news. So sad. Makes me wonder where the father of these children thought they went when their mother died???

dead 2-4 years please do tell who’s been paying half the rents
I doubt they would of been stuck in there alive and locked up their bodies would of been found next time someone opened it.
I still say … BS!

For the sake of remembering these children aside from being the “dead-storage-children”…I dub them:
“Amara”-English nickname meaning “unfading”
“Javed”-Persian name meaning “eternal”
Rest in peace Amara and Javed

Sep 3, 2008 at 8:16 am -Siblings’ bodies IDd, but no cause of death
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/.....12MTJF.DTL
Authorities are trying to determine the cause of death for two young siblings whose skeletal remains were discovered inside a storage unit.
Dental records identified the victims as Victor Reyes and Tricia Reyes. The brother and sister had been dead between two and four years.
They appeared to be between 10 and 11 years old at the time of their deaths. Their mother, Alecia Valadez, died earlier this year of a drug overdose. The siblings’ father lives in Mexico.
