Scott Lee Murphy
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Police are looking for Scott Lee Murphy, 24, so they can arrest him on aggravated assault charges. He got into an argument with his girlfriend, in which he held her to the ground and, get this, ordered his pit bull to attack to her. She suffered multiple bites to her arm and leg.
Of course, Murphy fled the scene before police arrived, and his dog has been taken into custody. It will be quarantined for 10 days before being euthanized if it is found that the dog has bitten anyone before. Which could be the case, according to David Shelby of Montgomery County Animal Shelter. “We’re still researching if this one was the bite dog previously from a few months back.”
Animal control has been to Murphy’s house before, responding to complaints of his two pit bulls roaming the neighborhood. Neighbors stated the dogs often barked and roamed free, and our now worried that if Murphy is able to do this with his girlfriend, could it happen again with one of them.
Anyone that has any information is asked to call the Clarksville Police Department or the Tips line at 645-TIPS (645-8477).

I find that people who flock towards the more “aggrssive” breeds of dogs and actually encourage that behavior in them are chicken shits themselves. They must have the protection of a vicious animal to make themselves seem more manly. Its pathetic and sad really.
I’d rather train my dog to do something more constructive…like mix me a drink. I’ve been trying for years, but she still has trouble with the salt rim on my salty dogs…

Now these dogs will die because of some Jackass who should have never even Owned a damn dog to begin with.
Sadly though this type case The ones who are held most responsible are the ones who are not really responsible at all the Dog. He will give his life for this charge. The Owner who was really to blame will get some penny anny charge and very little time.
Sorry I get really IRKED in cases like this.
I pray the dog at least knows a loving soul before he passes. If I was close enough I would volunteer to be he holder for these dogs on their last day. At least so they would know some love in their lives.

Aug 28, 2008 at 3:05 pm -Christ…two pits, trained to attack humans, roaming the streets? That’s half the reason I owned a gun when I lived in the hood. Hood rats just LOVE vicious looking pits and rotts, and my neighborhood was full of them. Once, one of the beefier looking pits I’ve seen went jogging through my apartment complex, with a thick ass chain dragging behind him that was attached to a posts which he was also dragging. Happy looking dog…Walked right up to me, tongue hanging out and clearly wanting attention, but I went inside my house because, tragically, these hood puppies simply can’t be trusted.
I don’t know that aggravated assault is enough. Hopefully, he’s got a record and will enhance the sentence.
I must say, though, it’s refreshing for people to see that it’s the owners rather than the dogs.

They cant be trusted, not because of their breed but you never know how they were raised. My brother had a sweet pit that was very lovable and wouldnt hurt a fly. This guys is a perfect example of why they have a bad rep.
I hope when she recovers she puts rattlesnakes in his bed, because as you know she will probably go back to him!!

Aug 28, 2008 at 9:06 pm -I have to disagree. I have a pitbull, many of my friends have pitbulls, and never once in my life have I ever encountered one who was bred to attack or fight.
In fact, my maltese is more apt to tear your hand off than my pitbull, and yet an attack-maltese would never make the news. Children are always drawn to my maltese, who absolutely despises them, and yet are terrified of my pitbull, who would do nothing more than lick them to death. Every maltese parent I’ve ever spoken to says they’re mean little dogs, but you never really hear about that.
The media is highly responsible for the preconceived notions many people hold in relation to this breed. If you have any experience at all with them, you know they are by nature, very loving and sweet dogs.
I think it’s amusing that a neighbor of mine, who has a golden retriever, always takes her children inside when she sees us coming with Miles (the pitbull), who is always on a leash. Yet, when she’s out in the yard with HER dog, who is NEVER leashed, the damn thing always charges us. Miles doesn’t do a thing but stand there and we just give her a shit-eating grin. She actually called animal control on a neighbor of mine who was in his own yard playing catch with his pitbull (off the leash). Just an example of how ignorant some people can be.

Aug 28, 2008 at 9:27 pm -this guy sucks the big, fat, hairy, wet one! i’ve had every single dog on the “dangerous dog” list & i’m here to say that the only ones i’ve ever had that i couldn’t count on for personal protection were the pits. gsds, akitas, rottis, chows, st. bernards, dobies, all would bite but not the pits. & some of these guys were horribly abused. whatever wrong this assholes dogs did, they were taught by him to do it. he needs the barbed wire baseball bat up his ass!!!

Zoe, my Rott is the best dog-she is loving and sweet. And she’s afraid of my cat, the vaccuum, and plastic bags,-lol–so these poor dogs get a bad rap from peckersnots like this!

It looks as if he had his nose broken, too. Perhaps the impact of the blow caused his tiny brain to lodge in the left side of his skull, therefore the tilt we see.
