I agree with you in principle, Athena, but these kinds of violent offenders are a dime a dozen. While this particular situation is more bizarre than most, the whole man-with-a-violent-past-goes-batshit-insane-while-on-crack theme has been played out over and over. Can’t we come up with a certain percentage of them to study, and off the rest? We don’t need them all, do we?

Heh. Cute. I’m glad my opinions made such an impression. What’s funny is, this story further illustrates my point. If crack caused this kind of murderous rampage, we’d be in pretty sorry shape, considering the number of crack addicts and recreational users in this country. But, it doesn’t. Clearly, this man was predisposed to violent behavior that most people are not predisposed to. Why not try to find out what that predisposition consists of? If we’re successful in isolating a particular genetic trait, we may one day be able to prevent this behavior.

same here… the job i do and where it is located – I have to deal with crackheads on a daily basis. I have been threatened numerous times…Anyways, he needs to stay in prison for a long time…but this is florida….. he’ll be out next year.
