Placerville, CA – At first, it just looked like a terrible accident. On Thursday night, Melissa Nicole Nichols, 23, hit her boyfriend’s motorcycle in a bizarre collision.  Anthony James Payne was driving towards Nichols’ car when she veered into his lane and struck him head-on. Payne, 23, was thrown about 200 feet and died at the scene.  Nichols was kinda drunk, and it appeared that she’d just drifted into his lane. All the way into his lane.  You see where this one’s going already, don’t you?
Melissa Nichols suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital overnight. On Friday she was released from the hospital and was booked into the El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and drunken driving resulting in bodily injury. The whole thing initially looked like a horrible, fatal mistake.
Until police started talking to witnesses.  At least one person put Melissa and Anthony near an intersection where there were, apparently, words exchanged. After the discussion the couple left on two different roads, but at some point Anthony Payne made a turn and ended up heading back toward Melissa’s car. When Anthony’s motorcycle was within range of Melissa’s car, she drove into his lane and hit her boyfriend head-on, killing him. One witness was with Nichols at the time of the crash, and police gathered enough evidence from that witness and others to pursue a murder charge.
Melissa Nicole Nichols is now being held in the El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of homicide.

“Training”…A funny concept. I’ve never been a big fan of training men, myself. I figure, the ones smart enough to figure it out without being told are the keepers. But, honestly, I’m easy. There are only a few things a person really needs to know about me to succeed. Indulge my love of horror and UFC; deal with the regular dinner parties (if you need to drink to tolerate my friends, that’s allowed – sometimes I have to drink to tolerate them); at least pretend you’re listening to my political rants; remember that my birthday is Sept. 7th and that I will return any diamond I’m bought (but sapphires do just fine), and I can live happily-ever-after with just about anyone.
In return, I won’t hit you with anything, much less my car.

and according to those, the witness in the bitch’s car was injured and is in the hospital. Someone also said that she has a 1 year old baby who was supposed to be in the car with them when this took place. Thankfully the baby wasn’t involved…I hope because the mother had the presence of mind not to let an infant be in a car with a driver who is under the influence.
Obviously this is all hearsay, but still. What a stupid, selfish bitch.

Wow…..I am totally disgusted in the comments that have been left so far. Here you are judging someone you do not know at all…..how do you know what has happened? From the papers?……From the news?……And what reputable sources those are for misinformation and hype to get any response from a story. To buy in to this is simply retarded……why don’t go comment on the story about a 20 year old man who was watching his girlfriends infant so she could sleep in and when she woke up he was unresponsive. She took him to the hospital and was told he had been raped among other horrendous things. To me, that is factual story. What you are reading about Melissa is suspicion not fact. My response to you is I never said I know what happened…….I am just saying none of us know. Why analyze things we do not know are fact or add to the suspicion of this when WE DO NOT KNOW. God.
There are people leaving comments taking shit about her hair and her eyebrows and how she looks like a murderer, commenting on her myspace page…I just think it is really unnecessary and childish.
Oh and usually a story in the paper that is true won’t just add that an infant has been raped in it’s ass just for the fun of it. I get your point though.
I’m open minded…….The point I am trying to make is that you can’t believe everything you hear in the paper. I think it’s sad to judge someone based on suspicion. I have never said I don’t feel bad that a young mans life has been lost or that she doesn’t deserve jail time for her actions.
P.S. You heard wrong about the person who was in her vehicle…….she also doesn’t remember anything……that’s usually what happens when you are in a bad car wreck….or get knocked out or are involved in some kind of trauma. I broke my neck in a car accident a year ago and don’t remember a thing.

Yeah, like Lauren said, it’s all just misinformation. The boyfriend probably isn’t even dead, and Melissa was on the other side of town feeding the homeless anyway. Don’t buy into what the witness and the police said, think for yourselves!

Yet you are not smart enough to spell the word “biased” correctly, and also not smart enough to stop defending a drunk driver who killed someone. Whether intentionally or not, this STUPID BITCH drove drunk and KILLED another person. She decided to get behind the wheel of a car after drinking. She made that choice, and she took someone’s life. He’s not coming back, his family and friends are in mourning and have lost a loved one, because of her actions. Are you smart enough to understand that FACT?
