Yvonne Bell Let Her Dad Go To The Dogs

Parkland, WA - Michael Warner wasn’t an old man at 55, but he was a very sick man, wheelchair bound in his final days with cancer, hoping to die at home with a little dignity. Frail, he scarcely weighed 100 pounds and was unable to care for himself in any fashion. Yvonne Bell lived with her father, along with her lover and his “unofficial†caregiver, Jennifer Markwith. They gave him little care and police suspect the couple were helping themselves to his pain meds.
Jennifer Markwith had dogs, lots and lots of dogs. So far the count is at twenty-seven, eighteen are puppies. A puppy mill perhaps? The puppies were kept inside the house. Some of the older dogs were allowed to run free, becoming the scourge of the neighborhood, attacking people and other pets. Calls were made to the sheriff’s office and Animal Control in the past. Nothing was done. I’m sure that Warner didn’t have much say in his life by this time, totally dependent on the whims of his non-caregivers. To call that pair caregivers would be a farce.
Giving little or no care, Bell and her girlfriend would just take off together when and where they pleased. It wasn’t even the first time they had left him alone unable to care for himself. Neighbors say that in the past, Warner had stumbled to into their yard before looking for help. This time it was different. Bell and Markwith left him home alone, trapped with over two dozen starving dogs. This time he couldn’t go to his neighbors for help.
Michael Warner was left alone for days in his feces covered house with eighteen puppies and several grown dogs. Surely Yvonne and Jennifer didn’t expect him to care for them. The dying man couldn’t even fend for himself. The animals hadn’t been fed for days and were starving. They had been abandoned along with Warner, trapped in a hell hole. Somehow Warner ended up on the floor, unable to defend himself or call for help as the puppies began to feed from his ravaged body.
When the selfish pair of non-caregivers finally got around to returning home, they found Warner bloodied, barely clinging to life. He is now in critical condition and being kept alive by machines. Bell and Markwith went back to the house to make a half-assed attempt to clean up before investigators arrived. Police state the inside of the house is “nasty” and “unfit for human habitationâ€, with dog feces everywhere. They both were arrested.
I can’t imagine how anyone would just go off and leave their animals to go hungry for days, much less be so selfish, cold and heartless to allow their dying father to become dog kibble. I think there will be a special place in Hell for Yvonne Bell and Jennifer Markwith.

since when is it legal to neglect and abuse your sick parents? shouldnt there be a stiffer law about this? or like what some people say its easier for the state to look the other way! i feel like this state has a crupted justice system, even the damn animal control people are crupted. i still put partial blame on animal control they could of done something but no they didnt. nothing like you see on animal cops! one thing i want to warn everything about. think twice and hard about what nursing home you let your loved one goes. because theres so much neglect and everything in those places.
Unbelievable! Doesn’t the case worker get that Yvonne should be in prison and will likely end up there? For ABUSE and NEGLECT? Wow. Just wow. It sounds like you, the brothers and sisters, don’t happen to have a lot of money, but I’ll bet a lawyer would take this on pro bono to get an injunction against Yvonne from coming near him — much less participating in his care!

And yes, I agree with several previous posters that isolation is a common tactic of abusers and I can see where siblings might feel, “Well he has his daughter with him” and if she played a good act, they’d never suspect anything.
I just got to this page to read this. I’m so sorry. My heart goes out to Michael’s family. I am sorry his last days were full of suffering but I hope he got some relief knowing his brothers and sisters were there with him.

The decision for a nursing home is always difficult…the place has to be looked at closely to be sure they will meet the patients needs and standards! Can you tell us what has happened to that devil Yvonne and her partner? I sincerely hope they get the punishment they deserve!

I had put Micheal’s address in my book and hoped to send him more cards. But really it is better that his suffering is ended and he was able to pass on in the midst of love and security.
I won’t forget this story, nor his loving and caring family. I hope we may all have such people around us.

This is So sad….I feel so very sorry for the victim, the siblings of the victim AND those poor dogs. I read about this when it first happened. It made me sick then and still does.

but after it was all over it was two sisters who spent the nights with michael one was shirley. the other patty.
until i got there then pat and i stayed the nights.
after i left for home

Not to worry, Tobyman and family, Michael’s story will live on in the hearts and minds of many who have read it. Not the horror of it, but the lesson. I also come from a very large family and have passed the “Parents Wish” on to all my siblings.
Ignore the rantings of those painting Michael in a bad light. They are trying to make themselves feel better for such a horrible act. They only look like fools trying to justify what was done. Fact is, even if Michael had the blackest heart (which I know isn’t true) he did not deserve what happened to him.
Make sure the authorities do not let this fall through the cracks. Have a family member there keep on them about the charges and getting the MAXimum penalty. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and if you keep at them, they will listen. When you can, let us know how it is going.

DAD HAD 3 WEEKS TO LIVE WHEN HE CAME TO OUR HOME SHANNON. WE DID EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO RESTORE HIS HAPPINESS, COMFORTABILITY, AND HIS LIFE. SURE AS SHIT ONCE MY LADY STARTED HELPIN US OUT. DAD GOT HIS LIFE BACK AND WAS HAPPY THAT HE WAS WITH US AND THAT WE DID NOT LET HIS SISTER TAKE HIM TO THAT NURSING HOME. I REMEMBER THE DAY WE SAW DAD IN THE ALLEY, RUNNING, CAME TO OUR CAR AND SAYS HELP- DON’T LET THAT SISTER OF MINE TAKE ME INN TO THAT NURSING HOME. WHAT THIS BOILS DOWN TO IS THAT WE GAVE UP OUR LIVES SO DAD COULD LIVE AND WE STAND PROUD. PUDDY
