Norma Barrientos + Nicholas Geisel = Mean

Norma Barrientos and Nicholas Geisel
Tucson, AZ - I think you can tell a lot about people from their mugshots, don’t you? I mean, just look at Norma Barrientos there. She looks sad. She looks like she did something bad, and she knows it. Oh, and she did, too, but I’ll get to that. And check out the eyes on Barrientos’ boyfriend Nicholas Geisel there. Da-AMN. That guy has Charlie Manson eyes. His eyes are so crazy he makes Amy Moolic look sane.
Barrientos, 29, and Geisel, 31, are accused of locking Norma’s eleven-year-old son in a room. A small room. From the outside. With bars on the windows.
At around 9:45 on Saturday morning, the boy managed to get to a cell phone - police don’t say how, or whose phone it was. The child called 911 and said that he was locked in his room and couldn’t get out.  Police arrived to find that the boy was in fact locked in his room from the outside, and they could smell it from the hall - the stench of piss and shit, of unwashed kid in unwashed room.
Inside the room was a small fan for air, but no other ventilation. The boy had been left with a jug of water, a sandwich, a roll of toilet paper, a bucket, and no way to get out of the room.
Barrientos’ story? Her son has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and can’t be left alone when she’s gone. Oh, well then, that makes perfect sense. I mean, why get a sitter or alter your work schedule? Isn’t that what locks are FOR?  Idiot.
Barrientos and Geisel told investigators that the boy’s ADHD meant that they had to lock him up for his own safety while the couple went to work. So, you know, he didn’t hurt himself. Or try to escape if the house caught on fire, but I guess Barrientos wasn’t thinking about that.
After being arrested on one count each of child abuse, the couple was released after their arraignment - no word on what kind of bond, if any, was required. Barrientos’ son is now in the custody of Child Protective Services.
UCat is talking about this one in the forums - thanks!

He had ADD!! He was not an animal. Stupid fucks!
That creepy guy looks like one of those clay forensic models. You know, the ones they use to give faces to dead bodies. Their eyes always look like that. If you stare at it a long time you can hear dead people… or lunch.
Cheetos.
Um…Is locking someone up with nothing, absolutely nothing to amuse themselves with except for a sandwich and whatever feces they might manage to produce supposed to be a good way to get people with ADHD to concentrate on the problem at hand?
No one at school ever noticed this kid smelled of shit and piss? That odor if entrenched doesn’t just go away Monday morning.
Not to down play these two’s horrible actions, but they actually did more for that kid than alot of the other f#cktards on this site. He had water, food, and a fan.
Home sweet home. Why am I not surprised that these sort of things happen here in Arizona? It feels like I’ve read endless reports on abuse cases that have happened in Tempe/Phoenix. I think the desert heat rots out people’s sensibility.
I live in Tucson and I haven’t heard about this case. I’ll have to look into it only because these two morons look eerily familiar.
Stupid, stupid, stupid fucking people. Why can some people even Have kids?
Poor little boy, his so called mother better never get him back, but, sigh, she probably will….
I received an email from someone close to this case today.
This person asked that we not reveal his or her personal information but says that Barrientos and Geisel were released without bond. A relative had actually offered to watch the boy but was turned down.
The source says, “The case is actually even worse than what is known to the public. Relatives were aware of the situation and chose not to intervene. Also, the couple has a one year old son together, who was not in the house at the time the police came out, and he has been removed from the household by CPS as well.”
I don’t know who got the phone in to the kid, but they deserve a medal.
I’m betting a concerned someone not in the family handed it to him through the window.
I’m all for putting these two in the EXACT same conditions for a month or so. Then set the place on fire.

Thankfully someone snuck him a cell phone, but why would that person not have just called. If I saw a child locked in a room in those conditions I would not have snuck him a cell phone, I would have called myself while trying to find a way to get him out of the room. Maybe he found a way to sneak it in there himself. I hope they dont get this boy back!
eek! dude looks like a psychotic chihuahua.
I’m assuming he got the cell phone by
Well, that wouldn’t make sense, yeah. I imagine the kid either swiped a phone off one of his captors or (more likely) they accidentally dropped it/left it there, or it fell out of a pocket.
