I find this statement funny, when I had my first kid at 17 I was alone, unsupported and very pissed off at the world….and when I was frutrated with the baby, rather than hit him I would litterally beat the fuck out of myself…..mainly on my legs, and oddly, feeling the pain and seeing my bruises(I was anemic so I bruised easliy) calmed me down alot, and kept me from taking my anger out on my defenseless baby, I have of course loooong since found better ways to control my anger, but those first 6 months of motherhood were tough on my body, I’ve never been ashamed to say that yeah I beat the hell out of myself in anger, as it kept me stable enough to not hit my beautiful baby boy who is now 10 and as happy and healthy and alive as so many children are not. all because parents are too much of a pussy to turn thier fists on to themselves.

This bitch mother CHOSE to look the other way. Same with Grandma. Same with all his friends there on both occasions.

I agree it was a bit selfish of the mother to just dump the kid into his lap to go play “teen girl” for a while. However, what other mother doesn’t wish she could do that to her own hubby and have a day to herself?

Though, I am condemning her for buying the “fell down the stairs” story. I’m sorry, but if my daughter even gets a small red mark on her – I ask immediately where it came from and how it got there. (Assuming of course I don’t already know) Hell her kid had BURN marks on her EAR, and she just ignored it?! That is something I’d notice within 5 seconds, AND I’d be all over the person that had caused it (intentionally or not).

What’s even worse is that even Angrymom stated herself and others were more than happy to babysit for the mother. So not only does she not have an excuse for all of the above things I listed – she also doesn’t have the excuse of “I had no one else to call”. Hell, it wasn’t even an “emergency” situation…it was for farkin’ Harborfest.

That’s why I suggested in my earlier post to charge the grandmother as well. She KNEW, said she KNEW in a statement, that abuse was happening…yet did nothing? Why not charge her with the same as the mother?

I wouldn’t consider that to be standard ideology, myself. While I only have one good friend who got pregnant as a teen (19, legitimate birth control malfunction), I knew plenty in high school who got pregnant out of sheer ignorance/hubris. In other words, they were too fuckin’ lazy and stupid to go to the FREE CLINIC TWO BLOCKS FROM SCHOOL to get birth control.

It’s not hard at all to avoid getting pregnant. I’m 25 and I’ve never even had a “scare”. Honestly, it’s hard for me to respect the vast majority of teenage mothers these days, especially those who have multiple pregnancies/kids.

Unfortunately, I didn’t know that the baby ever saw her father, nor did I know the mother well enough to know that the baby was that neglected. Had I seen any evidence myself, I would have called CPS. But you can’t call CPS because of a “feeling”. I have only known the mother for a short time, but I kept telling my daughter “I don’t like that girl. There’s just something about her I don’t like.” It breaks my heart that I didn’t know what was happening before so that I could have done something. I couldn’t call CPS and say, “There’s this girl that hangs around my neighborhood and she doesn’t look like a good mother.” But there were people who knew and did nothing! I can surely imagine your frustration. That feeling that something is wrong, but you just can’t figure out what…Damn!
