Robby Guppy Beats Up His Baby

Fulton, NY - Robby Guppy,17, was a lineman on the Pulaski High School football team. He was a fairly popular student who, despite a sometimes-rocky home life, was well-liked, even respected, at school. But what some of his classmates didn’t know until recently is that Guppy is also the father of an 18-month-old little girl. Well, now they know. Because Guppy isn’t only a teenage babydaddy, he’s a child abuser who has confessed to beating and burning his toddler daughter over a two-day period last weekend.Â
The abuse began last FridayFriday reviews
night, July 25. The baby’s mother dropped the little girl off for a weekend visit with Guppy.  The baby wasn’t there very long before Guppy, who has self-described “anger issues”, got mad.
According to Guppy’s confession, he got upset because the child started crying for her mother and wouldn’t go to sleep. So, rather than reading the little girl a story, or rocking her, he chose the Beat The Baby method of sleep inducement, punching her in the head with a closed fist at least five times.
“I hit her as hard as I could,” Guppy said in his statement to police. “I also shook her hard every time I got mad at her. I’m sorry. I can’t help myself. I mean, I don’t want to punch myself. That would make me madder.” Really, Robby Guppy? Because I wouldn’t have a problem with you punching yourself.
Continued Guppy, “She would not stop. She gave that cry that drives me up a wall. It is like the thing that pushes my anger button. I got mad and I spanked her on the butt but that did not work. She kept crying. I made a fist and I punch her in the head a few times. She did not stop, but, when this happened, when I hit her, I could not hear her cry. I could only hear my heart beat. I just left her in the room.”
About ten or fifteen minutes later, Guppy said, his daughter came out of the room where he’d left her. Then some of his buddies came over, and they all played video games until about 4:30 SaturdaySaturday reviews
morning, at which time the little girl woke up when Guppy tried to move the sleeping toddler to a couch in the living room. At that point, Guppy says he made the child a bottle, which she wouldn’t take, and she “cried like forever.”
“I slapped her in the face with an open hand four, five or six times. I totally lost control. I hit her all over. I don’t know why,” Guppy said, admitting that he continued to hit the child with an open hand throughout the day on Saturday.  But then, get this, he got all defensive with police, saying “I only punched her on Friday with a closed fist and I only hit her five times in the face.” Oh, well. If you “only” punched her a few times… idiot.
Later on Saturday, Guppy took the child with him to go play video games at a friend’s house. At around10:00 that evening, Guppy had yet another turn at Abusive Parent Roulette when the little girl was crying. Let’s see. We have a toddler girl, afraid of her father who beats her, in an unfamiliar house, and it’s bedtime. Anyone else think crying would be the appropriate response? Me too. But not our bully Guppy.
From his statement: “I was smoking a USA Gold cigarette…. I again lost control, I was yelling at her to shut up and stop crying….I shook her, hard, I was mad. She still would not stop crying. I did not know what to do. I got madder. I took my cigarette and pushed the lit end against her hand. I told her to stop yelling. (She) screamed, she would not stop. I then put her on her side, I put the lit cigarette behind her ear lobe. I only held it against her face for a little bit. I kept yelling at her and slapping her. I was upset she would not stop. My anger went away. I stopped hitting her and I just let her cry….On Sunday, I was kinda nice to (her), believe it or not.”
Well sure he was kinda nice to the baby on Sunday. Because that’s when his grandmother saw the baby and told him that she did not like those bruises.  Guppy told Grandma that, well, the baby fell down the stairs. Grandma lectured him sternly and said that no, actually, no child got bruises like that from a fall down the stairs. But apparently Grandma didn’t call the police then.
And when the baby’s mother came by Sunday afternoon, Guppy gave her the “fall down the stairs” story and I guess she bought it, because she left her baby with Robby Guppy until Monday. Wh-wh-what? Is that court-ordered visitation? Because she knew that baby wasn’t all bruised up on Friday afternoon. But still, she left her there for another day.
It’s not clear who called the police, but I’m hopeful that it was the grandmother and/or the mother. Robby Guppy was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one count of second-degree assault and one count of third-degree assault. He is being held at the Oswego County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 security bond.

It wasn’t the mom or the grandma who called it in. It was someone I know. The immediate family on both sides don’t and didn’t seem very concerned. The mother not only saw her baby Sunday night but went home, got a movie and condoms, and went back to his house and slept with him. AFTER seeing her baby. And then left her there with him until Monday. AFTER the cops had been called. I know these people personally and from the moment I met the mother I didn’t like her. But we love that baby. She is not a mother, she is just the cunt that delivered that beautiful child, and she is a miserable excuse for a human being if I ever saw one.

That’s pretty bad April – my mom of a similar age wouldn’t get the ipod out of the box because she was afraid it would be too complicated and hadn’t gotten around to reading the directions. I told her to get it out of the box already, plug it into her Mac already and screw the directions – it would be *that* easy. And when she finally did, it was, and she felt stupid for having let it sit and intimidate her for so long, lol.
Meanwhile, on the message board of the news articles, this baby’s mama is getting a lot of flack for going to harborfest. That just doesn’t seem to be the point though – it’s perfectly reasonable to leave a baby that old with her daddy and go to a festival in a normal functional world, no matter how old you are. Harborfest. Yeah. This child didn’t have parents, she had two big, selfish kids who had sex and then were stuck with its product. The baby was a burden getting in the way of their hot lifestyles.
I wonder if teen girls still think that using contraceptive (i.e., planning to have sex by being prepared beforehand) is sort of dirty, while having it “just happen” is romantic. I’m a bit out of touch with the inside story of how girls think about sex nowadays.

The baby was taken away yesterday afternoon and from what I have heard, the mother will be charged. *cheers* And no, it was not one of that idiot’s friends who turned him in, and as far as I’m concerned, they should all be charged with SOMETHING, if not accessories, since they saw and knew and did nothing. I would like to tell you who turned them in and why (it wasn’t me – although if I had known I would have) but I don’t want to put this person in harm’s way. This is a public forum and God knows who might read these posts, so until the mother is behind bars where she belongs, I’d rather not say. Needless to say I am very proud of the person who turned them in and he/she deserves a medal. Kudos to you, kid! You did something honorable many adults would be afraid to do.

I read this story originally on the forums, and I have to say that this was the first time I’ve EVER felt the need to wake up my kids and hug them. I woke up my newborn 5minutes ago and just starting crying. My hubby had to finally drag me away cause I was keeping her up.
This self-centered BOY needs a serious ass-whooping. Who cares if he had a screwed up life, most of us did and we all turned out okay. This is just another excuse from another worthless pile of steaming crap. It is NEVER okay to abuse a child – regardless of your upbringing.
I agree it was a bit selfish of the mother to just dump the kid into his lap to go play “teen girl” for a while. However, what other mother doesn’t wish she could do that to her own hubby and have a day to herself?
Though, I am condemning her for buying the “fell down the stairs” story. I’m sorry, but if my daughter even gets a small red mark on her – I ask immediately where it came from and how it got there. (Assuming of course I don’t already know) Hell her kid had BURN marks on her EAR, and she just ignored it?! That is something I’d notice within 5 seconds, AND I’d be all over the person that had caused it (intentionally or not).
I personally feel, that she is even more grotesque as a mother just because she KNEW (and stated on the record) that he had been violent in the past. Yet, she continued a relationship with him AND left her child with him. Where is this girl’s brain at?!
The grandmother knew that the child had been abused, yet didn’t call the cops? Screw that, if ANY of my kids ever even slightly look abused…I’d be all over 911 like white on rice! I understand he had a bad upbringing, probably from this woman, however – I am still hoping she gets charged with something as well.
Just…terrible…parents…and I don’t buy the “they are young” crap either. They had a kid, raised it for 18 months, and beat the crap outta it. There is never an excuse for abuse.
Side note: I agree with some of the other posters here, hitting and burning a child will most likely NEVER shut it up. This was just a way for this sick bastard to get his anger out. He used this child as a tool for his anger, and it will never be justified.

I think that if the child had had two parents who cared about the product of their screwing, it would have been fine for the mother to ask dad to take care of the baby for a day. Everyone needs a break and it’s nice when the parent (whichever one it is) who doesn’t get a lot of time with baby gets to have a day alone with the child.
It was the fact that Mom went off to a beer-fest and Dad spent the weekend punching a baby to make it stop crying that got me. Mom must have known that Dad had a temper problem and should not have put the baby in his hands, nor should she have left the bruised up baby to his care. Neither one of them really wanted this kid, it seems.
So, it’s the specifics of the situation that offend me. I see nothing at all selfish about one (good) parent asking another (good) parent for a day or two away from baby.

I totally agree. But there is no way on earth I would leave my child with someone I know to be an abuser. The mother told me that Guppy had beat her when they were together causing 3 miscarriages, AND beat her when she was pregnant for her daughter. The day that she dropped the baby off with Guppy she said, “I need a break so I am going to leave her with him until he gets sick of her.” I guess he got sick of her real quick. What really burns me is that she saw her baby Sunday night and left her there until Monday afternoon.

I am still pissed off and disgusted about this story. What I’m especially curious about is, if Retardo Guppy is only 17, where the hell were his parents during all of this? Is he an emancipated minor living on his own? How is it that no one else who was with him saw what had to have been clear evidence of physical abuse on this poor baby???
For what it’s worth, I had a “dysfunctional” childhood, and I have two children and have never, and sure as hell WOULD never, hurt them in any way. It makes me so fucking angry when these kinds of asswipes use their poor pitiful childhood as an excuse for their shitty actions. Way to perpetuate the abuse, Robby Guppy, you sack of shit.
I hope he and the “mother” are both looking at some serious punishment, but I’m sure they’ll probably both end up with slap on the wrist because that seems to be what happens far too often in these kinds of stupid cases.

Angrymom, did this bitch of a mother have anybody else perhaps a relative or parents that she could have left the baby with instead of Guppy? That she left her baby with somebody who she knew through experience was violent just so she could take a break was heartless. What a complete cunt-more concerned over her ability to party at beerfest than about the welfare and safety of her own child. Who knows maybe she thought leaving the baby with him would be the perfect solution to their “problem” as it seems this little girl probably wasn’t wanted (why they didn’t use contraceptives when they really didn’t want a kid is beyond me). Glad to know that the “mother” has been charged and I hope that she loses custody of her child. I also hope that the baby girl gets placed in a loving home where she will be taken care. The bitch of a mother will have all the free time in the world that she wants away from her baby in prison. And Guppy might not get a break from that crying that drives him crazy because most likely he’ll most likely be making those sounds himself when Bubba’s assraping him in the cell they share.

Lisa, she very well could have asked me or one of my daughters. She has many neighbors with teenage daughters who would have babysat. She lives next door to her father. Unfortuately, like I stated before, her immediate family didn’t seem too concerned, either, so I don’t know if leaving the baby with the grandfather would have been any better.
This is one of the reasons I didn’t like her when I first met her. She’s only 18 now. Not only did she have no shame, and told me these stories the first day we met, but I had a feeling that the baby was not well cared for. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that the baby ever saw her father, nor did I know the mother well enough to know that the baby was that neglected. Had I seen any evidence myself, I would have called CPS. But you can’t call CPS because of a “feeling”. I have only known the mother for a short time, but I kept telling my daughter “I don’t like that girl. There’s just something about her I don’t like.” It breaks my heart that I didn’t know what was happening before so that I could have done something. I couldn’t call CPS and say, “There’s this girl that hangs around my neighborhood and she doesn’t look like a good mother.” But there were people who knew and did nothing! I think everyone who was involved in this story and heard that baby screaming and saw bruises and did nothing should be charged with something. They are all culpable.

It just gets me how this guy would not think that the reason why the kid would not calm down was because he kept beating her. It never occurred to him that the hitting did not help on calming down the kid. At fist the kid cry because of his mom and later because she was hurting and he kept doing it. Poor baby I hope her injuries are not bad and she will heal soon. Hopefully some one caring and loving gets the kid…….

Angrymom, I know that you would would have been an excellent babysitter and I wish the mother had had the intelligence to have asked you instead of turning to that abusive creep. And I know that had you known about what was happening at the time you would have called the police, so kudos to you and the person that called the police for actually caring about this baby enough when the mother and grandmother didn’t even care. Don’t beat yourself up, it ’s a frustrating situation for anyone to be in. I can understand you not wanting to out people, but I hope these two “parents” and the grandmother and Guppy’s friends that were there that night are getting some flak in your neck of the woods and that charges will be brought up against all who witnessed the abuse but did nothing, on top of the charges for the so-called parents.
