Update: 3/14/09-On Friday, a judge sentenced Charles Smith to 10-years in jail without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors contended that Smith was the primary instigator of the abuse inflicted on Kyra. Charges against Christina are pending the release of a psychological examination a judge ordered her to undergo as a precaution to see if she is competent to enter a guilty plea.

St. Maries, Idaho (June 18, 2008) – Charles William Smith and Christina Haynes are the worst kind of child abusing scumbags imaginable. Smith, 29, and Haynes, 26, are in jail today while Christina’s three-year-old little girl is in critical condition in a Spokane hospital after weeks of abuse. DoctorsDoctors reviews
are baffled by the toddler’s injuries, which include dead, necrotic flesh to the victim’s hands and feet.
On Tuesday, the Benewah County Sheriff’s Office in Idaho got a call from someone who asked them to check on the welfare of Haynes’ two daughters, ages six and three. A deputy was dispatched to the scene, where the six year old girl was healthy and appeared unharmed. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the tiny blonde three year old.
According to the deputy’s report, the toddler had “blood on her butt and thighs… caked-on feces… feet dark, dead flesh from ankles to toes black… hands showed same… all over deep bruising of some kind… infection or internal bleeding… a large patch of blood on cheek…(the child)appeared to go in and out of consciousness.”
Did you all get that? Dead, necrotic flesh on this baby’s extremities? Internal bleeding? Doctors are saying that the child has a fifty/fifty shot at survival. She was taken to a local hospital in St. Maries, but was then flown out to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. The little girl has already undergone one emergency surgery as I write. Doctors predict she will need multiple surgeries to remove the necrotic, dead flesh from her hands and fingers – I’m betting on some amputations.
How does a baby get dead extremities? One of two ways. Either it’s from frostbite, or from four-point restraints that are tied so tight they cut off the circulation. Doctors don’t even know which problem it is yet, and they are “concentrating on survival” right now.
I’m shaking as I type, I’m so pissed off. What the hell kind of rat bastards do you have to be to torture a baby that way? Whatever happened to this little girl happened in the last few weeks, because her father saw both girls three weeks ago and said they were fine then. Haynes and Smith, who met online – probably in some kind of hellish child abuser’s chat room (or worse, on MyspaceMySpace
) – were “indifferent” to the little girl’s condition, said the deputy.
Christina Haynes and Charles Smith are charged with felony injury to a child and are being held in the Benewah County Jail. Smith’s bond is $250,000 – Haynes’ bond is $200,000. I’m not sure “injury to a child” quite covers this one. What do you all think?
UPDATE 6/20/08 – The three-year-old victim in this case is named Kyra Wine. She has undergone several surgeries over the past two days and remains in critical condition. Among her injuries, her “scalp was pulled up” and most of her hair was pulled out. Officers searching her home found a bloody pillow and blanket in her crib and blood on her floor. In her room were rubber gloves, a cup with a baster, and a syringe. Charles Smith has told police that the child was injured “during a bath”.
As of June 25, Kyra has lost all the toes on her left foot, three toes on her right foot, and part of a finger. And some of their friends still think these asshats didn’t restrain her. Riiiiight.
UPDATE 8/01/08 – As little Kyra Wine remains in the hospital, her mother Christina Haynes has made bail. Haynes’ bond was reduced from $250,000 to $75,000, and Christina’s grandmother put up her property to make the bond. Haynes will live with her parents in Post Falls.  Kyra is listed in “satisfactory” condition at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
UPDATE 09/25/08 – Benewah County prosecutors have offered Christina Haynes a plea deal. In exchange for her testimony against Charles Smith, Haynes would get a ten-year sentence for her part in the horrific abuse of her daughter, Kyra Wine, 3. Half of that sentence would be suspended, leaving Haynes with five years in prison followed by five years probation. Prosecutors stress that there is no such deal on the table for Charles Smith, who is believed to be the primary perpetrator of Kyra’s injuries.  Kyra spent three months in the hospital, but is now living with her father. She is still recovering from the loss of eight of her toes and part of a finger. I’ll update as we get information on the plea deal.

Now now, not all relationships with people on line are fucked up and destined to be like this. I met my current on line in 1999 and it took till 2005 before we actually got to met in person. We’ve been together now 3 years and married almost a year. I am the happiest I have ever been in my life and we are deeply in love with eachother. There is nothing wrong with finding Mr/Mrs Right on line.

I do know that many online relationships go on to be successful long term friendships, even marriages. The people in my life I consider to be my closest friends are nearly all people I first met online. But have you SEEN this dude’s Myspace? I found the info about the deceased daughter by looking at his Mom’s myspace photos and his comments on them. There’s one of a baby that’s in the shape of a butterfly. Then I found another one that confirmed the child was deceased. I’m kinda snoopy like that. My father was a detective and I think it kinda rubbed off. *blush*

And being you mentioned the needle, it pisses me off that the supreme court even entertained the motion that lethal injection may be inhumane.
Hell, the murdering, raping, family destroying bastards are getting out within a few minutes, at most, if they can feel anything at all. The POS get a sedative first, then a paralytic then the kill. The son of bitches even get to enjoy on last high with the sedative before they die. Talk about a cup of shit. Did they show mercy for their victims? Did they take measures to spare their victims pain or try to lesson their pain? Did they give their victims a sedative to make it less horrifying? HELL NO to all of those questions.
So why do we care, that someone who has been tried and convicted by a jury of their peers and deemed fit to die for some horrific crime, might feel a little pain for a couple of minutes? I damn well don’t. In fact, if I had any say in the matter the sedative would not be given – no one last buzz for them, even if it is a short one. The paralytic maybe, for my convenience.
And to the “kill” portion of the injection, if got to push the plunger, I would push the plunger on the needle real slow to ensure they got the “pain” but not enough, at one time to actually kill them. You know, I’d have to take a break and inspect my equipment. Or, stop long enough to scratch my ass, important stuff like that. All I can say is, you would have to hold your finger up to the syringe to watch the plunger pass by it to make sure it was moving at all. I would inject the lethal dose as slowly as possible, once the POS started feeling the pain. It would take a lllooooonnnnngggg time to get a lethal amount into their bodies.

Thanks for explaining. I see what you mean. The “fag boy toy” doesn’t mean anything to me, though, as to whether, that would cause someone to be an abuser because they heard their parents using the words while they were growing up.
I personally took that to be nothing more than name calling from an angry person. Would it have been better, if she said she wasn’t afraid of the bastard boy toy, or that son of a bitch boy toy. You’re right she does seem hateful natured. As to her not being able to see the kids, well that could be because she is a danger to them.
