, FL (July 29, 2008) - Well, kids, we did it. With the first Caylee Anthony post here, we broke all previous Dreamin’ Demon records for page views and comments. And after over 2000 comments, it finally happened – we broke our server.  The nice people at We’ll Kick Your Bandwidth’s ASS, Bitch, Inc., said that we could fix the problem by opening a nice shiny new Caylee Anthony thread and closing the comments on the old one, so that’s what we’re doing.  All the new Caylee updates will be published here, and all comments on Caylee’s case should be posted here from now on. Coolcool? Cool. Now, on to the recap and the new news.Â
Caylee Marie Anthony, 2, has been missing from her Orlando home since, um… well, nobody seems sure when. June 9 was the first date given to investigators. Now it seems that June 15 was the last verifiable date Caylee was seen, and she may have been heard on the phone by her mother’s friend Jesse Grund on July 24. Caylee’s mother, Casey Marie Anthony, remains in jail on charges of child endangerment and lying to investigators after she was unable to give them information on Caylee’s whereabouts on July 16.
Caylee was missing for a month before her grandmother, Cindy Anthony, cornered Casey and called to report her car, which Casey had been driving, was stolen. At that time, Cindy told a 911 dispatcher that “it smells like there’s been a dead body in the damn car.” She also told deputies that she had not seen Caylee for a month. Casey’s story has been that Caylee was taken by a babysitter, Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, on June 9. However, no sitter by that name has yet been found or verified even to exist. Casey Anthony could not give an address or phone number for the sitter, and has yet to explain any of this to investigators.
Cadaver dogs have hit on Casey’s car trunk and alerted to the presence of human decomposition. The dogs, taken at separate times by separate trainers, have also alerted to spots in the Anthony backyard. The back yard was probed, but no sign of Caylee was found, indicating that if Caylee is dead, her body was probably moved. As the case has grown ever larger and more complicated, no sign of Caylee has been found. All the details up to now can be found here.
Today, Judge Stan Strickland denied defense attorney Jose Baez’ request for a gag order in the case. Under Florida’s Sunshine Law, all communications from jail, with an exemption for confessions and other investigative discovery, is public record. As I write it is expected that jailhouse video of Casey’s recent visits and conversations will shortly be made available.

Yes, police say they knew about it, inspected it, and no longer plan to look at it again. It is a non-issue for them.

Turns out the new concrete sections were pavers, not a slab, and the dogs didn’t hit on it. Soooo.. no, not as far as I know. Probes were run, but no sign of Caylee was found in the backyard except the human decomposition by-products cadaverine and putrescine, which two different dogs with two different trainers did hit on.
It kinda looks like Caylee may have been dead in the backyard at some point, but she does not appear to be there now.

I think it was cleared – but with the other link, closing, I may have missed something. I can’t even get the “can be found here” link to work. I think they took the dogs back, just to be sure.

I heard it was not an actual concrete slab, instead it was ‘pavers’ laid in the backyard and Cindy maintains that the area was checked and that the police were satisfied there was nothing in the backyard. She also refutes the cadaver dogs completely in the above video, saying that the reason they brought in the second dog was that the first was making false hits.

Is this freaking out anyone else but me? I’ve seen Casey’s blog before, but when you put it in the context as a probable reply to Cindy’s MySpace blog on 7/3/08 it’s really a WTF eye opener.
I don’t want to repost it (Cindy’s) & take up a bunch of room because I know it’s been posted a ton of times already. But to sum it up, in Cindy’s blog she is distraught because Casey is not letting her see Caylee; she’s blowing her off. Cindy goes on to reveal all of Casey’s betrayal, thievery and all around fuckery, all while Cindy’s been taking care of Caylee. Then 4 days later on 7/7/08 Casey posts this blog entitled, “Diary of Days”:
“On the worst of worst days, remember the words spoken
Trust no one, only yourself.
With great power, comes great consequence.
What is given can be taken away.

Everyone Dies.”
That sounds like a big ol’ fat confession to me…along with a big ol’ fat “fuck you” to her mom. I don’t know if she killed Casey on accident or on purpose, or if her motive was to hurt Cindy. But, at the very least, it seems like…I don’t know, I can’t think of a good way to explain it…It’s just sounds fucked. And Casey is a heartless fucking cunt.

There IS no concrete slab. Sheriff’s Office said what is in the yard are pavers (like tiles) and that if there was any human remains under any of them, the dogs would have alerted. The pavers are not new — they’ve been in the Anthony yard for some time.

Fox news in Orlando said OCSD has been looking for 2 persons of interest that Casey “claims” she told when Caylee went missing. Jeff Hopkins (myspace link above) and Juliet Lewis, she claims she met these persons while working for Universal Studios.

hi, I’ve been lurking around since the Rowan Ford case, but this is my first post.
I tried, tried, tried not to watch any of the video associated with this case, but I finally broke and watched the one from the Mike and Juliet show this morning (post #2 on this thread)
I feel dreadful for the grandmother, and I know she must be under terrible stress and extreme anxiety for her granddaughter, but it doesn’t seem logical to blame the media for Caylee not coming home….the poor kid was missing for 30 days before the media even found out about the situation. i thought that Mike was very gracious to the lady.

Okay, random thoughts at work today, while I was away from DD.
1. Someone posted earlier, that Zanny, is another name for Katherine or Kathy. There are some friends on mypace (Casey’s friends) with a variation of that name. (Need to look closer here)
2. While looking closer, I thought, heck 2 year olds constantly make up or shorten names. Could the babysitter be Annie, or Jenny or something like that (there are those friends on Casey’s myspace with similar names).
3. (Komak smacks herself in the head), why do I bother with hope? (Answers anyone)?
4. CrazzyCindy is definately insane, stubbling over her words, in the link above, she almost-almost says the smell of a dead body, then stops herself. Then she says Casey had nothing to do with the car (first time I heard the purse thing too).
5. Enjoyed the drama last night, spirited people here…love it…
6. oh and btw, that poem above (on the dudes myspace), do you have his link?

Now I’m not a fantastic analyzer of poetry, but what I got from that is a guy writing a poem about him mom who passed away. I could be wrong, but that’s my take. Unless he’s another one of Casey’s conquests and he called her “Mommy” in the sack. Ooooh, new theory…Casey’s real job was as a dominatrix!

Personally, I certainly hope Caylee is just fine, but then I worry: what will happen to her when she’s found? Mom in jail, grandparents irrational at best, putative dad deceased. Will she end up in foster care?
I’m a foster/adoptive mom, and the system is no place for kids to end up.
