Reigh Rockefeller: Kidnapped By Daddy

UPDATE - Reigh Storrow Boss was found safe this afternoon in a rented room in Baltimore, Maryland.  Clark Rockefeller had left “Snooks” in the room and had gone out when he was apprehended.  Sandra Boss is on her way to Baltimore to pick up her daughter, and Clark Rockefeller is in custody.  He will be arraigned on a fugitive warrant from Boston on Monday.

Boston, MA, London, and New York -  Reigh Boss, aka Reigh Rockefeller, 7, went missing Sunday during a supervised visit with her father, J. Clark Rockefeller.   Reigh, who goes by the nickname “Snooks”, and her mother, Sandra Boss, were visiting Boston from their home in London.  Reigh’s parents recently went through a nasty divorce, and in November 2007, Reigh’s legal name was changed from Reigh Storrow Rockefeller to Reigh Storrow Mills Boss. This was the first visit between “Snooks” and her father since December.

Reigh’s Sunday visit with her father was supervised by a social worker by court order, and also because of Boss’ reported concern that Clark Rockefeller might not return Reigh.  As it happened, Reigh’s mother was right.   As Clark, Reigh and the social worker were walking to the Boston Common from the Four Seasons Hotel, a black SUV drove up next to the father and daughter.  That’s when Clark Rockefeller pushed the social worker out of the way, scooped up little Reigh, and jumped into the vehicle.

The social worker was dragged several feet by the speeding SUV as he grabbed it and tried to hold on.   He suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital and released.  It’s not clear whether Reigh Rockefeller was injured, but reports say things moved so quickly she must have been very distressed.  Her backpack and a doll were left lying on the front steps of Clark Rockefeller’s home.  The SUV’s make was uncertain but could be a Tahoe, a Suburban, a Yukon or a Denali.  There were Boston Red Sox stickers in the back window, and police believe the driver was a friend of Rockefeller’s.

An Amber Alert for Reigh Rockefeller was issued about 5:00 p.m. Sunday, but as of this morning Massachusetts canceled the alert, saying that they have credible information placing Clark and Reigh Rockefeller in New York.  An Amber Alert has not been issued in New York, but as I write, Reigh remains missing, and there is concern for her safety.

Clark Rockefeller is about 50 years old.  He is white, 5′6″ and 170 pounds.  He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a blue polo shirt. He is listed as a director with the Algonquin Club of Boston, so he’ll be well dressed.  He appears to have reddish brown thinning hair and blue eyes. Rockefeller allegedly uses multiple aliases and may or may not be related to the illustrious Rockefeller family.

Reigh Storrow Mills Boss, aka Rockefeller, is 4 feet tall, weighs 50 pounds, and has blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink and white sundress, red shoes, and sunglasses, and may be in New York City or Bermuda.  She is very bright and articulate, but police stress she may be in danger.

Warrants have been issued for Clark Rockefeller on charges of kidnapping, assault and battery, and assault and battery with a deadly weapon (the SUV).

Authorities now believe that Rockefeller, a millionaire mathematician, made plans to steal his daughter and go to Long Island to pick up a new 72-foot yacht, Serenity, from Long Island.  At this time, the boat has not been accounted for and it appears that Rockefeller planned to head for Bermuda with Reigh.  A search center has been set up at the Four Seasons Boston, where Sandra Boss is staying during the search for her daughter.   Anyone with information is asked to call 508-820-2121or 617-343-4328.

Hadn’t they already found one body in that yard when the current occupants went to put in a pool or something?

Yep, sure did. They thought it might be the guy, but I haven’t seen where that’s been confirmed anywhere.

“A German who calls himself Clark Rockefeller has been indicted on kidnapping charges for the alleged snatching of his 7-year-old daughter from a Boston street during a supervised visit in July.”

“Defense attorney Stephen Hrones said the indictments “reflect the same weaknesses as the original charges.” Hrones said he will enter pleas of not guilty on Monday, and likely will seek bail for his client.”

Crockefeller’s attorney is as nutty as he is.
