Cara LeBlanc Beats and Runs

UPDATE 7/31/08 - Dan LeBlanc, Cara’s husband and father of the victim in this case, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child by withholding medical treatment. He was arraigned yesterday on the misdemeanor charge. Cara LeBlanc was flown back to New Hampshire last night and was arraigned today on charges of first degree assault and criminal restraint. She did not request bond and will remain in jail for the time being, although her attorney says there may be a bail request at a later time.
Webster/Concord, NH - You’ve just had a hard day beating your eight-year-old stepdaughter nearly to death. Your arms are sore from pulling her up the stairs by her hair. Your legs are tired from kicking her back down the stairs again, time after time. You have friction burns from tying those restraints to a door, and frankly, it’s looking like the cops are gonna show up, since the little girl is in critical condition all of a sudden. What are you gonna do now?
For Cara LeBlanc, the answer was easy. She’s going to Disney World!
Police are looking for Cara LeBlanc today after she beat her stepdaughter almost to death on July 10. Police say that LeBlanc pushed the eight-year-old down a flight of stairs at least seven times. To get the little girl back to the top of the stairs, LeBlanc would drag her by her hair and push or kick her back down again. She also force fed the girl cereal, tied her hands and feet to a door, and when none of that vented LeBlanc’s rage, she proceeded to beat the child over a period of nine hours - until the belt broke and the little girl was no longer responsive.
Two other children in the home - one of them LeBlanc’s biological son - were unhurt, but did witness the abuse.
Finally, on Saturday, the little girl was taken to Concord Hospital. Nursing staff there hotlined the family for the obvious abuse, and the child was transferred to a Boston hospital for more intensive care. The child’s liver and kidneys were so damaged that they were in organ failure, I’m told, on Saturday. As of Monday night, the victim was slowly improving but remained critical.
On Sunday, Cara LeBlanc was for some reason not in police custody. One source tells me she had been questioned but there wasn’t enough evidence to hold her at that time. So LeBlanc bought an airline ticket to Orlando, Florida and hightailed it out of New Hampshire for a little vacation. So much for “don’t leave town”, huh?
The other two children in the home were taken into protective custody by the Division of Children, Youth and Families on Monday, and warrants had been issued for Cara LeBlanc’s arrest with country-wide extradition authorization. DCYF says they have investigated the family in the past, but found no evidence of abuse at that time. I guess they have more than enough evidence now.
Police in Florida and New Hampshire are now looking for 29-year-old Cara LeBlanc. She has outstanding warrants for first-degree assault and criminal restraint, and may be staying with a friend in the Orlando area. If you see Cara LeBlanc or know where she is, please call (603) 648-2200.
UPDATE 7/15/08 - Cara LeBlanc (spelled Kara in some news reports) was arrested today in Cape Coral, Florida. She will be extradited to New Hampshire to face charges there. Her stepdaughter remains in critical condition at Boston Children’s Hospital today.
UPDATE 7/16/08 - New details are emerging about the condition of the eight-year-old victim of Cara LeBlanc’s rage. The child was taken to the hospital two days after her abuse began by her father, Dan LeBlanc. What happened in those two days remains a mystery, but on arrival at the hospital, the little girl had kidney and liver damage, three broken ribs, three broken vertebrae in her neck, and was “covered in black and blue welts”. Said Webster Police Lt. Phil Mitchell, “I’ve never seen a child-abuse case this severe.”
I don’t know how that looks like “a few bruises from normal play”. I don’t know how anyone sees a restrained child, as was noted in our comments section, and does nothing other than untie the kid and leave her in the home to suffer longer without having to answer for that behavior. I want to know, Morbid wants to know, and we’re gonna find out.
UPDATE - New details have been released about Cara LeBlanc’s DCYF record. Two years ago, the Webster Police filed a DCYF report on LeBlanc about their suspicions of abuse of her stepchildren. DCYF determined the allegations were “unfounded”, despite their coming from the police department.
And just a few months ago, Cara LeBlanc’s ex-husband Bill, who has asked to have his last name withheld, filed a DCYF report on behalf of the eleven year old daughter he has with LeBlanc. That child lives with Bill, but had visits with her mother.  The girl went home from a visit this spring and told her father that LeBlanc was abusing the youngest child, a five year old girl. She said that LeBlanc made the child run up and down stairs for 20 minutes without stopping and locked the little girl in her room. That five year old child is the sister of the victim in this case.
DCYF found that allegation “unfounded”, too. It’s starting to look like DCYF bought whatever Cara LeBlanc was selling.
UPDATE 7/31/08 - Dan LeBlanc has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and was arraigned yesterday. Charging documents said that Mr. LeBlanc withheld necessary medical treatment for his eight year old daughter, C., for two days. His bail was set at $10,000, and he was ordered to have no contact with Cara LeBlanc.
Cara LeBlanc, for her part, was flown in to New Hampshire from Florida late last night. She was arraigned today in New Hampshire for the brutal abuse and nine-hour beating and restraint of her stepdaughter. Cara’s attorney did not ask for bail today, so Cara will remain in police custody pending trial. Her lawyer says that Cara may ask for bond at a later time.

I haven’t been around for a while because my 7 year old step-daughter has been with us. I just dropped her off today and am very sad about it. She has a cuntwad of a mother, who just might make the front page someday. CPS stops by her house more than the mail man, but anyways..
This is the first I’ve read this story, and it pissed me the fuck off. Cara LeBlanc should be beat and tortured for the rest of her days as far as I’m concerned. I feel so sorry for that little girl, and any child that has to endure such abuse.
One question, I’m not sure if it was mentioned or not, but did the father and step-mother have custody of the little girl?

They know from experience that people will come to check up on them, and then decide everything is “unfounded” and leave them to fend for themselves. I now see why stepchildren are especially vulnerable. They can’t be dropped off at a hospital like one’s own newborn. The stepparent is “stuck” with them in her/his mind and if the parent isn’t willing to lose Penis or Vaj, the kid is going to be there and get abused.
This just makes me sick. We need old-fashioned orphanages or to revive the Shakers, who always took in children no one wanted. They loved kids and because they were a celibate sect delighted to have any brought to them. Surely a child would be better off there than at home with a vicious relative or step-parent.
This is also one reason we have so many runaways that don’t want to be found.

In all seriousness this is not cool at all. Seeing this makes me wonder where our country went down the wrong road. I mean in what state of mind would you be in to beat your stepchild for 9 hours, then stand on her? That’s just crazy. And WHY did Daniel Leblanc wait so long to call 911? does that make sense? NO. A warning sign for him might have been when DCYF came to their house before this happened and found nothing. You would assume that having them come to one’s house would say something to you subconsciously…. I don’t understand people……

It actually is Cara’s Myspace, albeit one that has an older, pre-weight gain picture on it. I was able to get family verification. You’ll note it hasn’t had much activity in the last year or so, but at the time this article was originally published, it was the only picture of Cara available. We’ve since changed our photo to reflect what she looks like after a few dozen pounds and a few hurt kids.
Bill is the name Cara’s ex asked to be identified by in the press. He may well go by Will in his personal life, but he wants his daughter distanced from this. Sometimes it helps if you read, then comment.

It’s easy to point a finger at the extended family, or the dad or friends, or anyone else, but when you’re on the receiving end of that finger you say “what the fuck? how could some shit like this happen in my family?”
You beat the shit out of yourself asking, why didn’t I stop by more often to ask how things are going? How couldn’t I sense what was going on?
The problem is, these fucked up wierdos are everywhere, smiling at you at walmart, letting you go first at the stop sign.
Then shit like this happens. Cara is a fucking psycho. I see how everyone is like, “what the frig?” and I know it. Everyone except her ex-husband, who keeps claiming he knew everything, but in my experience ex-s always bitch too much anyways. This is just a fucking sad situation.
If I was the ex-husband or a friend or any other of the people out there saying “I knew it was all screwwed up in that household”, I probably would have done a little more than just drink a coupla beers and make an anonymous call to those “pros” at the DCWF.
I would have gone over there, grabbed Cara by the face and threw her down a flight of stairs.
Well, yeah. But in this case, at least one adult extended family member besides Dan and Cara was in that house on that Thursday night, saw the victim, C., with her broken vertebrae and her broken ribs, and left her there. For two more days. So nobody - not one adult - stood up for this child and got her help until Dan got a grip on Saturday, and that probably was only because his child could have died.
So nobody in this family qualifies as normal or okay - except possibly Bill/Will, who did call and who did what he could do legally. And he was told that that case was “unsubstantiated”.

Law comes, changes, it’s fluid, goes in the direction it wants, and really could care less about anyone or anything. It spells it’s name out in canyons a mile deep and thousand years old.
I know the DCWF are there for a damn good reason, it’s the government that regulates thier behavior and rules of conduct. Most of ‘em would sit outside of a house for 4 days drinking energy drinks and staring through a high quality digital camera until they caught something.
I wasn’t there that day, but alls I can say to defend those guys that were there is to say that when I get into a bar fight or do some laborous work or just generally get the hell beat out of me, I usually don’t feel the repurcussions until days later, and bruises don’t show for like 4 days.

and in cases where kids kill abusive parents or stepparents, the response the proscuters and all the high and mighty people give is why didn’t you call for help? And you’ll propably find in 99% of those cases, they did… and nobody helped them or believed them.

- Dan’s been arraigned on charges of “endangering the child’s welfare” - a misdemeanor charge, with $10000 bail (which he posted within hours). Ridiculous, and completely low-balled. But I suppose at least it’s something.
- Cara’s being arraigned today on the felony charges. Here’s hoping for no bail set (on a proven flight risk) so she can continue to rot in a cell.
- “Bill” isn’t an ex-husband, as reported in some channels. Never married to Cara. And I’m pretty sure he’s pretty happy about that at this point.
- I’d love to hear more about the “ANGERED” that showed up and admitted that they were in the house on that Thursday and did nothing to help. Big thanks to Imp_Queen and Harley_Tech - I’d have bothered to respond to said fucktard, but I didn’t feel the need… you folks covered the bases quite well.
- Latest news said the girl is continuing to improve, no backsliding.

I can tell you that law enforcement located that individual and brought her in for questioning. Beyond that I do not have official confirmation of anything else.
My totally unconfirmed opinion? That person’s statements to law enforcement may have been somewhat helpful in charging Dan LeBlanc for withholding medical treatment, since she made it clear here that Dan saw his daughter’s condition and was aware of it that night, yet withheld treatment for two more days.
I would have loved to been a fly on that wall. “Ma’am, we saw your posting on Dreamin’ Demon and were wondering why you told them and not us. Now spill your guts.” followed by her incredulous look and sputtering excuses.

Of all the stories I’ve read on here these last few days since joining, for some reason this one touched me the most. Partly due to the severity and/or longevity of the beating - partly due to the cold indifference of the adults who knew something was wrong and did nothing for 2 days.
I pray this child is healing and with a family that will love her and take care of her.

At a probable cause hearing yesterday, defense attorney Mark Sisti painted Daniel LeBlanc, Cara LeBlanc’s husband, as a violent, unstable presence in the home, with a history of mental illness. Sisti argued the police have not sufficiently proven that Daniel LeBlanc was not the main culprit in the alleged beating of his daughter, and that it is not known where each injury on the girl came from and who did it.

Why does anyone have to prove which ONE did it? Charge them BOTH with the same damn thing! What he “allegedly” did, as well as what he allowed to happen, makes him culpable in this assault as well as others.
I found it interesting that in the article it states that dear ole’ dad was the one who came home and found the girl tied up. Didn’t we have someone on here claiming to be the one who found her that way — who supposedly was NOT the father?? What gives?
