Burwell and Hyde (I think)

Mark Burwell, 30, sure loves his XBOX 360. On Tuesday, 24-year-old Johnny Hyde, Jr. and Burwell got into an altercation. Hyde tried to leave the home of Burwell’s while carrying out Burwell’s 360. Burwell shot him dead as he was trying to go out the door with it. Burwell then dragged Hyde’s body into the basement, cleaned up the mess and threw the gun into a dumpster near the house.

He did end up confessing to his roommate, telling him everything, including the fact that he shot Hyde because of Hyde’s attempt to steal his console. He also told the roommate he wanted to turns himself in. The roommate the called 911 and informed the dispatcher of everything (portions heard in the video). Burwell was arrested and charged with aggravated murder. He has plead not guilty and is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.

I was gonna make a snarky comment about being killed over a 360, but then realized how many stories we have posted about people getting for much, much less.

Well, we are just getting the story from the guy who is…alive…at the moment. I just figured that if they were arguing before the shooting, Hyde may have tried to take the Xbox not out of theft, as much as some other type of scenario. Maybe it was his, or there was money owed. Who knows.

But the reports don’t make this seems as if Hyde was breaking in and trying to steal something.

That makes sense, it seems very strange that he would just up and walk out with the guy’s Xbox right in his face, without another reason

Uh, at least he didn’t waste police time and resources by running?
