these however are:
1) bipolar mania or hypo-mania

euphoria or irritability
excessive talk; racing thoughts
inflated self-esteem
unusual energy; less need for sleep
impulsiveness, a reckless pursuit of gratification (shopping sprees, impetuous travel, more and sometimes promiscuous sex, high-risk business investments, fast driving)
2) bipolar depression/major depression

depressed mood and low self-esteem
low energy levels and apathy
sadness, loneliness, helplessness, guilt
slow speech, fatigue, and poor coordination
insomnia or oversleeping
suicidal thoughts and feelings
poor concentration
lack of interest or pleasure in usual activities

(antisocial, borderline, dependent, obsessive-compulsive, narcissistic, avoidant, paraniod, schizoid, and schizotypal personality disorders.)

Did you just good Disorders and all these came up?

my mother kept some old medical records incase, he was diagnosed by Dr. laura bird. in maryville IL with all (antisocial, borderline, dependent, obsessive-compulsive, narcissistic, avoidant, paraniod, schizoid, and schizotypal personality disorders.) which ment HE HAS MPD!!!!!!

You have listed personality disorders, which are not mental illnesses, nor can they be treated or cured with medication or therapy.
These differ greatly from bi-polar, schizophrenia, and depression, which can be of physiological origins, or MPD which is considered to be psychological in nature.

Franky, being diagnosed with nine personality disorders is beyond excessive, IMO, and I would question either the diagnosing Dr.’s qualifications, or the patient’s potential for malingering.

Where’s the anger over the loss of your Grandmother? Where’s the outrage that your brother, who you claim was dangerous, wasn’t being treated or wasnt taking his meds?

Anyone who knew he had such a volatile personality and did nothing to get him help is just as guilty as the person with the knife.

Which leads me to believe that..although your brother probably had some sort of mental disability..it seems your friends and family are just throwing whatever medical terms you know about at it..

if you do have some kind of evidence proving that a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL has diagnosed him with such things..I would be more apt to believe you..

But all Mental Disorders aside..your brother is one sick fuck for what he did..and deserves to be punished as so..

Whatever names he is called on here…he deserves that and much worse
and anyone who sat around knowing of all the problems , mentally and otherwise, that he had..and did nothing to help him and therefore prevent this tragedy, are complacent fools, who are no better than the person who did the crime in the first place

And I would also like to know if this is a disorder he was actually diagnosed with or that he exhibited behaviors of and non-professionals labelled him themselves. And if he was diagnosed by a professional was it before or after this event with your grandmother occured?

I truly feel sorry for you since not only did you lose a Grandma but also a brother..but the fact of the matter is here on Dreamin’ Demon we dont post these stories so people can feel sorry for the accused, we post them so they can feel sorry for the victims. Whatever the problems your brother may have had, the act that he committed was heinous to say the the least…and Im sure if there were any updates on the trial (such as the fact that he may have been diagnosed with such a disorder, and/or entered a guilty plea) I’m sure you would be able to find and update on here or on the forums..I, myself googled the case and found nothing but the original report.

Who was the family member he was having problems with? Was there some sort of tension in the household before this all happened or did he actually just lose it all of a sudden without warning?

and LUPWNTHE3rd, i wish you well as you grapple with this event.

both posts indicate how difficult it is to treat mentally illness. did logan snap? lots of illnesses have late onset or late increase. you or i could experience it tomorrow. or did he hide his demons well from mental health assessors, law enforcement, his friends, his grammaw, even himself? most likely a little of both. how much of not knowing by family is denial? how much of not helping was healthcare professionals being duped or just not caring? patients also try very hard not to dissapoint their doctors, so they often minimize their symptoms, or they are afraid of the hospital, or they are tired of the thorazine shuffle. its an unfortunate crapshoot and i don’t know how to fix it and that frustrates me.
