Anderson, SC - It seems to me that today’s prisons are becoming more and more like extended summer camps funded by the taxpayers. I know, you lose your freedom, but you get a roof over your head, 3 squares a day, some recreation time, and TV among other things. And hey, if you are lucky enough to be jailed in Anderson County, SC you may even get a little nookie from a halfway decent looking redhead! No, our Imp has NOT accepted a job in the Anderson County Detention Center, so you may want to hold off on those plans of robbing liquor stores.
Gina M. Loftis, a detention officer at the facility, admitted in a written statement to having sexual intercourse while she was on duty. The “victim” in this crime was a trustee at the jail. And not only is that against the rules in the employee handbook, it is against the LAW.
Loftis was charged with sexual misconduct with an inmate and booked into…wait for it…the Anderson County Detention Center. Wow. I guess she knows what it is like on both sides of those bars now.
She was released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. Oh, and she was fired.
Makes you wonder though. Was it worth it?
