Concord, NC - I want to post this story as it is local to me and I want to do anything I possibly can to help catch the piece of shit who, on Friday, killed Donna Barnhardt, 59, and Darrell Noles, 44, while attempting to rob the Sun Drop Bottling Company Donna had worked at for 18 years. Darrel Noles was there to simply drop off an application. They were both shot to death and the killer is still at large, seen running across the field neighboring the plant.
Below is a description of a man seen leaving the scene with what some people have reported may have been a cash box:
* Black male with dark skin
* Approximately 5 foot 3 inches tall
* Long dread locks
* White shirt and blue jeans
Donna was only two hours away from getting off work and then taking her two grandchildren to their dance recital and enjoying a two week vacation with her grandkids at Myrtle Beach. Dunno why this one hits me a little more than normal…I think it is because some of the pictures of Donna holding her grandkids remind me of some photos I have of my late mother. I dunno. Doesn’t really matter, I suppose, as there is a cold-blooded asshole that needs to be caught and I cannot wait to get his mugshot.
Carolina Speed Professional Indoor Football Team partnered with the Sun-Drop Bottling Co to raise money for the families of the victims of the Sun Drop shooting and the largest reward fund in Concord was put together by members of the beverage industry and a group of concerned citizens. I am hoping that this reward will be just what the community needs to have some of this animals friends or family turn on him and get him off the street.
If you have any information, please call the Concord police crime tip line at 704-920-5801, or Cabarrus Area Crime Stoppers at 704-932-7463.

Rest in peace Donna.

The piece of shit that did this needs to die. MORBID, do you have the death penalty there? I for one, hope so.

Grandparents should be parted from their grandchildren by old age not by some asshole with a gun. I hope they do get justice for Donna in the very near future.

Here you have two people being responsible adults: a woman just trying to do her job (and probably not getting paid all that much for it), and a man just trying to find some decent work. Two people just doing their best in the world to make an honest living. And some jackhole who is too lazy to work decides that he’s entitled to an easy living by stealing–and that it’s OK to kill anyone who gets in his way? For what–a couple of hundred bucks? (Because that was probably just the petty cash box, not the entire payroll in cash.)

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap.....ooting.php
“Barnhardt had worked at the plant for 18 years, while Noles was an unemployed fiber-optics technician looking for work. His wife was waiting outside in the couple’s car when he was killed.”
I wonder if she’s the eyewitness who saw him running away.

And grandma was a Vietnam vet, to boot.
http://news14.com/content/head.....fault.aspx
Noles was the choir director at his church.
What a waste of two lives that were actually bringing some good into the world, by someone who will probably never do anything positive as long as he lives.

Jun 24, 2008 at 4:01 pm -Well, this one just breaks my heart. That picture reminds me of pictures I have of *ME*.
Donna went to work that morning, thinking of the fun in the sun with her sweethearts that was to come. And Darrell and his wife woke up with hopes of a job in their future, I’m sure.
I’m sad over this one. Damn.

Jun 26, 2008 at 12:02 am -That is so sad. Taking two people’s lives so he can carry away a cashbox. When he’s caught and his friends show up here to defend him, what can they possibly say?

I’m guessing the defense of his family and friends will be something about he’s just a kid, and we all made mistakes when we were young and foolish, and it shouldn’t have to ruin his whole life, and who are we to judge anyway, blah blah blah.
If he’s not a teen, but just a really short guy, maybe they’ll claim he felt “threatened” by the normal-sized victims?
*Eye roll either way*
