Brice Brian McMillan and Sandra Elizabeth McMillan on The Dreamin' Demon

Macclesfield, NC - It can really suck to be thirteen years old.  Especially if you have parents like the McMillans, whose idea of discipline is right up there with crucifixion for fun.  Brice Brian McMillan, 41, and his wife Sandra Elizabeth McMillan, 36, got upset with Brice’s son for being “disobedient”.  So on Tuesday night, they made him sleep outside, tied to a tree.

On Wednesday morning, the couple let the boy out of his bonds for awhile.  But by Wednesday evening, the kid was tied him to the tree again.  Only this time, he was left there overnight and most of Thursday, until Sandra McMillan finally went to check on him and found him unresponsive.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found the boy on the ground with Brice McMillan doing CPR in a vain effort to resuscitate his son.  You know, it seems to me that if a guy knows enough to do CPR, he should also know that tying someone to a tree for a long period of time in June can kill ‘em.

I don’t actually know what position the boy was tied in, or even what he was tied with.  But given that the kid died, it could be that he was tied standing up against the tree, probably with his arms outstretched.  A position like that could cause death by slow asphyxiation within a day as the child fell asleep and sagged against his bonds.

Or, possibly, the child was tied another way and was strangled on the rope, or he could have died of heatstroke or dehydration.  Frankly, there are just too many ways to kill someone by tying them to a tree in June.  Especially a child.  I mean, come ON, people, can’t you just ground the kid or take away his cell phone or something?

Two other children in the home, ages seven and nine, were taken into protective custody by the Department of Social Services.

Brice and Sandra McMillan were arrested and charged with murder and felony child abuse.  They are being held in the Edgecombe County Detention Center without bond.  Um, crucifixion looks pretty good as a sentencing alternative, don’t you think? Tie the McMillans to a tree for a couple days, see how they like it.

Wow. My parents tried to come up with creative punishment on occasion, but it was always in the form of slave labor…that didn’t risk life or limb.

It’s amazing, with these people being as evil/stupid as they are, that they didn’t lose a child sooner.

That poor, poor kid. What a way to go.

That poor kid. What the hell did he do to deserve crucifixion for cripe’s sakes? What a cruel world for some kids.

This is horrible. I’m shaking my head in disbelief. They made him sleep outside tied to a tree? That must have been terrifying by itself. Can you imagine being one of his siblings with the police and medical people out there and you know your brother has died tied to a tree by your Mom and Dad?

Heh. We tell the kids they have to go sleep with the goats or the pigs too. Never really done it of course.
Now that I think about it the pigs and goats have it pretty good compared to this poor kid. Man, I won’t be able to get this out of my mind.
How freaking scary being tied to a tree, outside for two nights… then the realization that no one gives a fuck, not your dad, not you step-mom.
They let him suffer all 2 nights and a day. Fuckers.

Well, for one, you won’t get any Father’s Day cards this year.

I want to smack that “fuck you” look off of his face. Preferably with a brick. She shows no remorse either. WTF? They just KILLED A CHILD? They have the NERVE to look like that?

I was arrested once. I’d gotten a “failure to exhibit insurance card” ticket, which is a mandatory court appearance. I was having surgery the day of court. I’d notified the court and sent them all of the proper paper work. Apparently, the left hand didn’t tell the right hand what was going on. Within two days of having surgery, I was arrested for failure to appear. (Charges were eventually dropped because not only did I have proof that I notified the court, the employees admitted that I did.) When MY mug shot was taken, *I* looked remorseful and horrible. That was over a TICKET!

How these people have the nerve to give their “up yours” looks is beyond me.

Wow there was a heatwave this past two weeks in the East. Can you imagine it was 110 and this kid is out there with nothing.
I so wish I knew someone down there in jail to send a message to them both.

Their arrest warrants say that the boy sustained “bruising to the wrist, cuts to entire body, missing flesh from buttocks, results from being tied to a tree for approximately 18 hours resulting in death.”

    Wonder

    Jun 22, 2008 at 10:59 pm -

Could someone add a pic of this boy found on the video link #18

The video: shows the yard / tree and the court room (dad does look remorseful) so sad !!!

great view of the bugs on the bark of that tree and how sad they didn’t even allow him to have a bale of straw to sit on …. They treated him worse then a Damn Mutt.

Wonder what these POS parents did when they were his age.
13 - 14 yrs olds can be rough I lived thru it twice ~ as a single parent… I still did timeout, by sending them to their room at that age and they were ok with that they knew they had it coming. But…….
no way I would of been able to get my kids to cooperate to get them to the rope and tie them up without help from someone so holding both responsible is absolutely correct!

Wonder if this is their oldest or only child.

isn’t there any friends or family members going to come and tell us what great citizens and parents they are ?

I can’t even blame this on step-parentling both these idiots
It amazes me these 2 aren’t no young chickens You would think the older you are the smarter you would be and know this is crossing the line……. fricken rough neck idiots I tell ya ! YA FEEL ME :p

I’m thinking he was stubborn and all he needed to do was confess or say “I’m Sorry”
