Adam Lee Berard: Sex Offender, Grandma Raper

Rock Hill, SC - Adam Lee Berard, 26, is a sick bastard.  It’s not enough that he was already a convicted sex offender by the ripe old age of 22. Now he’s in jail for sexually assaulting a 69 year old woman – who happens to be his grandmother. Way to perpetrate the mother of all family dysfunctions, dude. Everybody has that weird pedophile family member, but not just anyone can tell the heartwarming family story of the time Adam raped Grandma.Â
According to the York County Sheriff’s Office report, the assault was in progress when the victim’s grandson, who is also Adam Berard’s brother, walked into the home with his girlfriend late SaturdaySaturday reviews
night.  Didja get that? Adam Berard’s brother walked in on Adam sexually assaulting their grandmother. Ew ew ew ew ew, y’all.
The original 911 call said that the woman had fallen. But officers got a much different story when they arrived at the scene.  Adam Berard’s brother said that when he entered the home through a side door, he saw Berard on top of his grandmother. Adam then grabbed his clothes and ran, leaving the scene on a moped.
When the grandmother was taken to the hospital, she was found to have been sexually assaulted and had bruises and cuts on both arms.  Berard was located by tracking his monitoring bracelet, which he was wearing as part of his sentence for – get this – failing to register as a sex offender. The bracelet alarm went off as Berard fled the scene. Which tells me that Adam Berard was probably living in the home where the assault occurred. Nice.
Adam Berard has been convicted of failing to register as a sex offender three times since 2004. The first time was in June 2004. In April 2005, Berard also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and battery. Then he failed to register again and was convicted in January of 2007. Oddly enough, nobody thought he should do significant jail time.  He had been under “supervised release” starting on January 15, 2008 and running through December 1, 2011 for the latest charge. Berard was originally convicted in 2004 in Ohio on a charge of gross sexual imposition.
Adam Berard is now charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and assault and battery with intent to kill. He is being held at Moss Justice Center without bail pending a bond hearing. Here’s hoping that someone gets a clue and puts this rapist away for a long, long time.

Oh, he looks like such a nice young man, I’m sure he has a perfectly good reason for banging his own Grandmother. She was probably all gussied up in her favorite house dress. You know the one that shows off her puffy ankles? Yeah, that one. The flickering light from the TV highlighting the peaks and valleys of her neck waddle and the varicose veins through her support hose so nicely. The way she took off her orthopedic shoes, removed her teeth, and cautiously settled into her favorite chair… She was just begging for it. Sure, she fought back a little, but he could tell she totally wanted him!

I feel bad for the non-grandma raping brother. Coming home with his girlfriend and walking in on that probably put the kibosh on any special plans the two of them had for the evening.

Does this perp look as if he may have fetal alcohol syndrome? His eyes are a little too widely spaced and oddly shaped.
How many times does a young man have to assault people before the shrugging-it-off and second-chance-given stuff stops? If he was living in his Grandma’s home, I would imagine that Grandma may have been the one helping to “supervise” him. He couldn’t get out to rape anyone, so looked around at home, I guess ….
