Nicole Erdman Was Thirsty

Created on June 04th, 2008 by Morbid now with 1,215 views

Ever have on of those days where you would just like a nice, cold beer? Nicole Erdman, 32, had one of those days and drove to a Circle K 3 miles from her home to go get one. No big deal except for the fact she left her two children, ages 1 and 3, in a bathtub half full of water in the process.

Because of this absolutely stupid decision, she is now charged with two counts of second-degree child abandonment and in the Pierce County Jail on a suicide watch. She is also prohibited from seeing any of her children. Hope that 22-ouncer was worth it.

Nicole got busted when her husband returned home from running an errand only to see his wife pulling into the driveway with a beer in her hand. He then called police on her. He describes his wife as “a loving caring mother with some emotional and psychological problems and drug and alcohol issues — and she’s seeking help for those issues.”

Rarely do we get to say “good job” to a man featured in a DD story, so we should all jump on it here. I’m sure deciding to call the police to report his wife, was one of the most difficult decisions this man ever made. But he did it. And not only did he potentially ward off further abuse for his kids at the hand of their mother, he may have done exactly what it’s going to take to help his wife. It’s a twofer!

Agreed Yogaluvr! I’m sure it took a lot of guts for him to call the police on his own wife, and it’s a big kudos he was doing the right thing…. being a good dad and protecting his kids. Hopefully the wife WILL get some REAL treatment for her problems, and they won’t let her near the kids until she does!

I agree good for daddy! I’m curious if he has previously attempted to get her help? Mental illness is draining not only to the individual but also on the family. Thankfully her babies are okay!

This couple has three kids. One is just a baby. I wonder when these drug and alcohol and mental health issues began and why the man had more children with the woman before they were resolved. Did they just start after the birth of the last baby?
