Devon Abbott, 33, wife of Gregory Abbott and her acquaintance, Soloman Silver, 42, were both arrested on FridayFriday reviews
, charged with one felony count of conspiracy to falsely charge a crime, one felony count of false imprisonment by fraud, one felony count of conspiracy to commit a crime, one felony count of second-degree vehicular burglary, and one felony count of transportation of marijuana. FULLERTON, CA - Now ain’t this some shit. Abbott, 31, has been a history teacher at Sunny Hills High School for seven years. Gregory Abbott was charged with possession of a weapon on a school campus and possession of narcotics for sale and was booked into the city jail and released on $25,000 bail. This was after a 911 call was made in which an anonymous caller stated they had purchased drugs from Abbott and that he had a weapon in his car. Police searched Abbott’s car in the school parking lot and found an unloaded shotgun, prescription drugs as well as a small amount of weed.

Well, all charges have now been dropped, as it seems as if the teacher was a victim of an elaborate set-up orchestrated by his estranged wife, Devon E. Abbott, and a male acquaintance of hers. No one has been arrested yet, but the police are “continuing to actively investigate new aspects of the case.” I cannot WAIT to get more information on this one…I think Abbott is about to get some payback.
Abbott said he didn’t blame the police for arresting him, but added that he is having a hard time believing this entire situation is even happening.
“I am not upset,” Abbott said. “They had to arrest me. There were drugs packaged for sale and a shotgun at school. … They had no choice. They did the right thing, in my opinion. It was up to me to convince them that I was innocent…Nothing even close to this has ever happened to me,” he said. “I come from a good family with a good background; to have the police come tell me that there’s a shotgun in my car — I can hardly believe it even now.”
Abbott said the school district has invited him back for next school year, although a substitute will be finishing up the remaining few weeks of this school year. The police department, who has done nothing wrong, is also actively helping Abbott restore his reputation that got a bit marred in this scheme.

Update – 6-23-08 - Well it didn’t take to long, but I finally got their mugshots up. Investigators have revealed that they have evidence showing Devon Abbott and Silver exchanging several text messages in which Abbott gave Silver information on the location of Gregory Abbott, his car, and Gregory’s parents’ home. They also stated they have proof of Abbott helping Silver keep an eye on Gregory Abbott and the best way to get rid of any evidence.
Here are the events being reported, that happened right up to Gregory’s arrest, in a lovely, bulleted format.
- A day before Abbott was arrested, Silver is accused of calling the California Highway Patrol and falsely reporting that a man had pulled a shotgun on someone and fled in his vehicle and allegedly gave a detailed description of Gregory Abbott’s car.
- Hours later, he is accused of anonymously filing a false report with the Brea Police Department and saying that a “guy” was pointing a gun at vehicles while driving.
- Hours after that, he is accused of filing a false report with the Placentia Police Department, saying that a man had pointed a shotgun at hiss face, and once again, gave a detailed description of Gregory Abbott and his car.
- The next day, Silver allegedly called and filed a false report with the Fullerton Police Department in which he told police that Abbott had just sold him drugs and was currently at Sunny Hills High School. Police went to the high school and, well, you know the rest.
This is a funny part though…police say that this text message was sent between Abbott and Silver after Gregory was arrested. “Yes it’s gonna happen!” and “We (expletive) got him!”
Yeah, you got him alright. What a couple of fucking idiots.

I would love to know how he convinced them that he was indeed framed. I mean how many times does LE hear that someone has been framed? My guess is quite a bit (you know that nobody is ever guilty and that they are all good people!) I’m glad he was able to prove his innocence.

Apparently he separated from his bitch wife after she met and ran off with some dude she met on the internet (there is also a rumor floating around that she had an affair with a coach he was an assistant to.) Then he had to file to try to keep her from moving out of state so he could see his children. I hope she does get arrested and he is awarded full custody of the kids. Here’s an update on this case. The wife & her “friend” were arrested Friday. They are being held on 750k bail and are being arraigned today. People in these neck of the woods are dying to see mugshots. Can someone (Imp) work their magic and make it happen?
