Harmony Jade Creech on Dreamin' DemonTim, Randi and Kassidy MillerAlexis Phillips

Harmony Jade Creech, Tim & Randi Miller, Alexis Phillips

Dreamin’ Demon Home Office, Akron, Ohio - Memorial Day was created to acknowledge the sacrifices of soldiers who give their lives in service to the United States. The soldier who dies in war is a hero, no matter the cause. The soldier – or soldier’s child – who is sacrificed at home may not get honors or ribbons or music today. But we remember them today, just as we remember all those who have given their lives in service to our country.

Sergeants Tim and Randi Miller had each served in Iraq for the US Army. A married couple with an infant daughter, Kassidy, Tim and Randi were stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. On Saturday, March 1, 2008, the Millers were brutally murdered by Spc. Ivette Davila in a fit of envy. Davila fatally shot Tim and Randi. Then she doused their bodies with acid and kidnapped baby Kassidy.

After Davila told another soldier about the murders, that soldier called police and little Kassidy was found alive at a Fort Lewis barracks. Davila has been charged with two counts of premeditated murder, kidnapping, burglary and obstruction of justice. She is being held at the Trident Submarine Base at Bangor, Washington, awaiting trial. Tim and Randi’s lives were stolen. Kassidy was orphaned.

Harmony Jade Creech was only a baby. Her father, Ronald Creech, had been serving in Iraq for fifteen months when he came home last OctoberOctober reviewsOctober reviews 19 to find Harmony was missing. Except that it later turned out that eleven-month-old Harmony wasn’t missing at all. Harmony’s mother, Johni Michelle Heuser, was arrested after Harmony’s body was found hidden in a diaper box in Heuser’s attic, where it had been for weeks.

Johni Heuser was charged with first-degree murder, although an autopsy has been unable to determine the cause of Harmony’s death. Harmony’s remains have been sent to two different crime labs after the medical examiner in Harnett County, North Carolina, was unable to make a determination due to decomposition. Heuser remains held without bail in the Harnett County Jail. Ronald Creech no longer has the daughter he never got to know.

Alexis Phillips was killed while her daddy was in Iraq, too. Sgt. Jason Phillips was called home to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, on February 21. His wife, Kristin Phillips, had been arrested. Their daughter Alexis, eleven months old, was dead. Had been dead for some time, there in the crib beside Kristin’s bed. Their two-year-old son was covered in feces, the home trashed, the other two children neglected and afraid.

Kristin Phillips is, as far as I can tell, still being held pending her murder trial. It’s been a little tough to get updates from the Army on this one. And it turned out later that Kristin Phillips had another dead baby in her past – in 1998, she had hidden the body of a newborn son in her parents’ home for four months. While Jason Phillips served our country, he lost his daughter.

These are the sacrifices that don’t get parades or church sermons devoted to them. But while our valiant soldiers are fighting for our freedom, sometimes they are paying a dearer cost off the battlefield. In order to truly recognize our Memorial Day, we must remember all of our soldiers, all of their sacrifices.

Today, we remember.

I hate that I don’t recall the little girl who died at the hands of her mother while her father was in Iraq. The one that had been so abused by the woman who gave her life and her step father? *sigh* Anyone else remember?

Thanks for reminding us of these heroes Imp, they deserve to be remembered as well.

Also makes me wonder, did we ever find out what that Yvette Davila chick’s motive was? That one was so strange, I dont remember it ever being really pinpointed

Me, my hubby, son, nieces, nephews, close friends and their children, all have served in the military. Good strong people. Props to them all. Got two leaving the states in June. Gone to fight this stupid shitty “never declared as war conflict”. You ALL REALIZE THE LAST TIME WE DECLARED WAR WAS WWII. Korea was a conflict, Vietnam a police state, Iraq a peace mission or some shit. Look it up its true.
I love USA just hate the politics. I would like to add I would die for the constitution and freedom (ANY TIME), wish we could get back to living by it.

It is a huge sacrifice these men and women are doing and I thank God most people can appreciate that! It just reminded me of something our son recently asked me…How do you explain to a baby why Daddy is never home and always has to go to Iraq?

I hate fucking war. I don’t support the shit at all, but I do support those who so valiantly give/gave their lives. My father and stepfather both served in the Korean War. I’ve Uncles that served in WWII and Korea, and a few cousins and friends who fought in Vietnam.

The guys and gals in Iraq….shit fire, I wish they all were home.

Nice write up, Imp. Thanks for sharing.

OMG. I just googled her because I didn’t know who you were talking about… now I can’t stop crying. I want her mom’s penis to have his arms and legs cut off and be beaten with them while bleeding to death. What a short and horrific life that little girl suffered. I really think I might throw up now.

And all while her father was serving his country in Iraq. Gahhhhhhhh!!!

Thank you for the memorial Impqueen. I am an Army wife and this was especially hard to read. I can’t imagine surviving all the horrors of war only to come home and find out that you have more death and sorrow to endure. Home should be the returning soldier’s refuge, not Hell on earth.

Tim and Randi’s horrible death really touched me…I hope their baby girl knows how much they loved her. I am still left wondering what went on in that crazy girl’s head and hope that she never has a moments peace about what she did. This couple seemed to be truly special.
