Singing Bird Edition

Singing bird on dreamindemon.com

Welcome to the third dreamindemon.com podcast. Slowly but surely we are getting the hang of things. Editing was a breeze and we are starting to get a handle on all of our volume levels. It clocks in a bit over an hour. Enjoy.

Summary:

First two segments deal with front page stories. We talk about Christina Shehow, the surprising reduced charges filed in the Taylor-Rae case, Joshua Kati and his role in the death of James Muddiman, the Destiny Renee Carswell case and the 13-year-old lolita, Alisha Dean. Lori Drew even raises her ugly head in a discussion about Julie Phillips. The third segment is on a couple new forum features that I will make a post about eventually, as well as answering a question asked by one of our members in regards to how we met. Well, not in total detail on who knows who exactly, but how me and swivel met and how Imp found herself trapped. Hope you enjoy it.

Wow, you guys. I have to admit hearing myself recite the poem….made me fucking cry like a baby. Holy shit. When I recorded it the first time and listened to myself I was like cool, that sounds decent. (Yeah the Hippie has a little bit of a country twang to her voice) ;) When I listened to myself again, shit fire, Rowan’s story came back at me hard.

Thank you so very much for letting me read my words and my thoughts. Much appreciated. (I almost thought you weren’t going to do it and then bam, it slapped me upside the head at the end. Again….loved doing it.

Ok and the rest of Podcast again, excellent. Loved the news segment that started it all. You guys make me smile. Swivel you brought up some damn good points to some of the stories.

I like how you guys sound so relaxed….a few “fuck” words thrown in there and hey, that is my favorite word….The Podcast is real, relaxed and fun.
Thanks to all of you for being who you are.

    Peace~
    Hippie

btw The Podcast title and the accompanying picture….very cool.
    (thanks….I love you guys) *blushes*

I am so glad we got the volume fixed. I still sound like a dork, but at least I’m not a LOUD dork. :D
    And Hippie’s poem was great!

I just turned out the lights in my dark little office, turned my monitor off, and listened to Hippiepoet read her poem for the first time, with my hands over my face, leaning into the sweet spot of my speakers, the only other sensation a ceiling fan pushing cool air down on my shoulders… and I wept.

Thank you, Hippie, for moving me to tears. Thanks for touching me.

This was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Imp, you’ve got a nice voice. Like a radio personality or something.

Hippie–Wow. That kind of killed me a little. Great poem and, it’s already been said, but great voice.

Imp, you made me laugh aloud when you said, “Can’t any of these people spell!” You sounded so surprised and indignant.

I am already looking forward to the next podcast. It’s exciting that so much is happening with the site — though a little depressing, too, because I don’t have time to participate beyond comments on the front page.

Thanks for adding your podcasts — an hour or so of the week that I am thoroughly enjoying!

I must have blacked out during the podcast. I don’t remember hearing our HippiePoet recite a poem. And I was waiting for it. I wonder if I have gone crazy?????? At what point in the podcast was it?

  17. impqueen
    9:20 am on May 26th, 2008

It was at the very end, behind the music. We try to put something there every week – won’t always be a poem, but there will usually be a little something just to thank all of you for listening to us rant for however long. I thought Hippie did a beautiful job and I really liked hearing her voice, which is lovely. I’m sure we’ll have her back to read again.

I’m interested – did those of you who listened think the cast was too long? We got into some topics that we thought might generate some discussion, but they don’t appear to have done that as yet. Could be the length or the weekend or that we’re really boring or that these are stories we’ve already covered, I dunno.

Each podcast takes several hours to complete. After we record, which sometimes has to be totally redone on conference call, Morbid spends hours mixing and editing. And in case we haven’t mentioned it, this site is totally run on a volunteer basis. So we want to provide something you will all listen to and enjoy. Anything special you want to hear about, questions you want answered, topics you want discussed? Suggestions? Criticisms? List them here or in the podcast thread in the forums, or contact Morbid or swivel or me. We’re here to serve. And for ego stroking. :D

Thanks Hippiepoet for the poem for Rowan.

And no, it wasn’t too long.

    Happy Memorial Day everybody.

Damn, Hippie. You have me blubbering like its all new again. I just finished the pod cast. Your poem was beautiful. Thank you for making that tribute to Rowan.

Imp, Morbid and Swivel – great job!! Each pod cast gets better and better. As far as, length, I think you guys will have to play that by ear, decide what you need to cover for the week – slow week, shorter cast. I don’t think you can say “ok we’re stopping at 45 minutes” or just set an amout of time. – you’ll just have to go with “how eventful was the week?”

Great job and I can’t wait to listen to next weeks cast!!!!! Beautiful voice Hippie – like I told Imp, I like having a voice for the name.

Thanks to all of you, for listening and enjoying the poem. Rowan was the reason I found this site, and that little girl really touched my heart. I was honored to read it aloud for everyone and would be elated to read something to you guys again.

    Peace~

Its proof positive – I found the DD because of Rowan. I’ve been a loyal follower ever since. I wish Rowan could know just how many lives she did touch – how many she brought together in an outcry for justice.
