Camilo Garza likes to beat up little girls.
Houston, TX - Camilo Garza is today’s baby killing asshole. He won the front page draw by being the most horrid babykiller I’ve read about in awhile. Garza, 41, beat tiny three year old Catherine Martinez to death for almost an HOUR. That’s right. And you know how we know it took so long? Catherine’s mother was right there watching the whole thing.
Camilo Garza, Catherine’s stepfather, likes to use cocaine. And when he gets high, he gets mean. So on Monday afternoon, when little Catherine wet her pants, Garza made the toddler stand in a corner for an hour in her wet pants. Then he made her stand on a four foot high rail, hitting her when she fell off. Then Garza started slapping Catherine in the head, harder each time.
A Child Protective Services spokesperson told press that “The mother described everything from grabbing her by the neck and smashing her head into the wall to kicking her while she was down.”
After 45 minutes or so, Catherine was still on the floor, blue and not breathing.
“That’s when the mother realized it had gone further than she had originally thought,” said homicide investigator L.K. Lovelace.
Oh. THAT’s when? That’s when she figured out there might be abuse happening? When her baby was dead on the floor? Newsflash, Garza, you slimebag, when you kill a kid, her corpse may be incontinent, thereby totally negating any toilet training you were trying to do by beating her to death, asshole.
I’m really running out of adjectives for these people.
Catherine’s siblings, a six year old and a ten month old baby, are now in emergency foster with a no-contact order that encompasses the mother and her entire family. CPS was already in the home investigating abuse, so I guess they got really pissed when a baby was killed under their noses. But I’m wondering in what universe it was okay with CPS that this family of five was living in a one room shack, sleeping on one queen sized mattress for everyone.
At the hospital, doctors found old and new bruising, head to toe. There was bruising that signifies sexual abuse as well. Catherine had bruising to her shoulder blades, her head, behind her ears, arms, legs, genitals, torso, even her feet were torn up and abused. But on April 25, CPS didn’t see any signs of physical abuse? I don’t think anyone was looking very hard.
Looks to me like everyone dropped the ball on little Catherine Martinez, a toddler with no pictures anywhere that I could find. Nobody - nobody cared enough to keep this baby safe. Not CPS, not even her own mother. You know what? I’m pissed off. I’m so angry and sad and upset I can’t even type straight. This week has been some kind of hellacious, and it’s only Wednesday. Is there a Global Babykiller’s Convention happening right now? National Punch Your Baby To Death Month? What the HELL is going on here, people?
Camilo Garza is charged with capital murder and is being held in the Harris County Jail without bond. Police are considering charges against Catherine’s mother as well.

In reading about this in the forums, it struck me how he made her stand in the corner for an HOUR, but that wasn’t long enough for him to cool down or leave. No, he was still furious after an hour.
I hate these stories in which the child was completely invisible for all his or her life, and we don’t hear about the child until a murder has been committed.

Her mom was probably a victim too but why didn’t her instinct to save her child click earlier?! There are so many things wrong with this situation words don’t do it justice. Perhaps justice will be served in court or better yet when his fellow inmates hear about what this piece of crap did…. that almost makes me smile.
How do you deal with writing about these stories all the time? All with the same elements (father-figure abuser, mother bystander, soiled pants, beaten and thrown children) all with the same ending (dead child, CPS sucking, and generally inadequate punishments)…. it hurts my heart.

I am going to have to take a break from DD. Seriously. This kind of shit just upsets me so much it makes me sick. I can’t understand how anyone could do such horrible things to a little person who has only been on this Earth for three short years. And how could her mother stand by and watch this happen? And the signs of sexual abuse are just the coup de grace.
Poor Catherine. Poor baby girl. What a tragic little life you lived. I wish crying for you could bring you back, and into the arms of people who would love you.

But, I digress, even if CPS is overwhelemed, when you’re at someones house, look over every part of that child and make sure there are no signs of abuse!! How long can it take to do a visual? 3.) CPS… CPS… what to say about a system that works so “hard” and not at all? Where they take the “easy” cases so they can use them as a statistic, but fail miserably when it comes to the important cases… *shrug* The worker should be charged as well, especially if those injuries were recently missed.

However, poverty is not a crime. If you can imagine all the children taken from homes that are poor, those in the same economic/home situation here in the states, the foster system would completely crash. A town not too far from me doesn’t even have running water or electricity. It’s sad but if the kids are fed and clothed and loved… I don’t see poverty as a crime or a reason to take a child from a family.

Shit = cutting that SOB’s throat or run your best kitchen knife through the head or chest cavity while he’s on the shitter with pants around ankles and relatively immobile - again saving the child and doing the world a favor. Option 2, a ball bat (or the like) to the head knocking abusing bastard unconscious and make escape with children.
Sleep = same instructions as shitting - Note: there maybe enough time, if the sleep option is used, to get in a few extra shots, while using the ballbat. After the head shot, move to knees next to ensure immobility. Break any other bones, as time permits, saving child and enjoying a little pay back.
If it were my child, I would choose option 1 in either of the three examples - the permanent fix!

At some point while he was busy smashing this babies head into the wall, or kicking her, hitting her, sometime during this 45 minutes of beating, she could have called 911. She could have run from the home to a neighbors and called for help.
If it were me, the ONLY way he would have killed my child would have been to kill me first. If a mother does not have that killer instinct that says, I will protect my child at ALL COSTS, seriously, she needs to go directly to a hospital and have her uterus removed and have NO more children.
What he did was sickening, but the mother allowing it, is outrageous!
I just feel sick about this.
I hope he gets death, and she get the maxiumum sentence and that still wont be enough punishment for these asshats!

A couple of years ago, she was talking about going to the junior prom without a date, it was really bothering her. I tried to point out all of the fun she could have and other positive things, but it did not make any impact on her, at all. At one point in the conversation, she was talking about how she could do this or that and (now get ready) if she was lucky enough, she might leave with a boyfriend.
I was in shock. How dare she view herself that way?!?! I asked her if she was serious and sadly, she was. I explained to her, that if the boys acted right and could conduct themselves properly, then they might be lucky enough to leave with her as a girlfriend. Her dad, my uncle, just about shit himself when I told her something to the effect of “…that shit is gold and don’t you forget it. Be picky and choosey, don’t just let anyone think they are worthy of having it. Make’em work hard for it.”
Did that line of thinking go out with my generation or what? Oh, wait, this damn bunch is my generation. WTH? Seriously, why all the desperation? I love my husband, but honestly, if he didn’t treat me like the sun rose and set in my ass, I would not be with him. I would find a man who did or I would just live alone and enjoy my own “rises and sets”, no matter. And before I get the arrogant ass award for today, I return the gesture to him.
