Believe it or not, this happens more often then people want to admit. There was research done by the Pew Internet & American Life Project that found roughly 30% of teens (which they considered as 12-17) “posted at least some fake information to their profile.” They also quoted a boy from Late High School as saying, “I use a pseudonym, who is 24. Because i regard myself as an intellectual, it’s easier to be taken seriously if people don’t know they’re talking to a 16 year old.”

These “teens” know exactly what they are doing, and are doing it intentionally. I can also quote Assistant Attorney General Aguillard (from Louisiana) speaking to a TV reporter as saying, “There truly are that many teenagers who are online to meet adults for the purpose of having sex.

Additionally, I can speak from personal knowledge, these teens are RUINING innocdnt unsuspecting peoples lives. They think it is a game and are held to no standards. Our government officials speak of Family Values, which should include personal responsibility and honesty. However, knowing that this is going on what are they doing to stop this???

Did those two men do something wrong? Maybe. Should either of them have gone to jail? NO. Should the parents of that girl go to jail? Possibly yes, for allowing their daughter to continue.

How as a society are we going to place people in jail because someone else decided to lie about their TRUE identity. Ask Lori Drew if it is ok to lie about who you are online!! Stop blaming those two men for something they had no control over. Should they have checked? Possibly.

BUT THINK ABOUT THIS: Who are you going to place at fault when teens do this on a DATING WEBSITE, where the required age is 18?

She is not a slut because she went on some dates with older men. She is a slut because she is having sex at 13. She is a slut because she deceived them and had this sex dishonestly. These men were not substantially older than the age she claimed to be, and were clearly not intending to be in a younger-woman relationship. Do not associate this with younger women who date older men. Her behavior is offensive.

Having issues does not excuse being an idiot or lying to people – and most of all it does not excuse ruining those men’s lives.

I think the girl should face some type of charges for misleading these men, especially since it is a ‘thing’ for her to lie about her age. I think the father should face charges for 1. not controlling his daughter(parents get charged for stuff like that in La) and 2. he should have known this man was too old for his daughter in the first place. He had met the man and I’m sure he could tell the man was older. He still allowed them to date. I’m sure he didn’t show up on a bike for pete ’s sake. It’s evident the problem is bigger than sex with older men so someone should have to answer for what caused her actions…btw…I didnt see any mention of her mother, where is she?

I had friends who lived in my building,and it ended up being that there daughter had a crush on me…I live ALONE,in my OWN place… …and this girls MOTHER hand delivered apple pie made for me SOULY by her daughter… Her daughter was nearly 6 feet tall,d cup breasts,long blond hair… …AND 14 YRS OLD!!!… …Her parents said we could “hang out together” when THEY were around…I said,NO THANX,i was 26y/o at the time!…And i was shocked,she DID NOT look a day under 18y/o,AND was home schooled to boot,so she did NOT act like a typical person,not even if she looked the part of a “regular twinkie” she was quite intelegent…but yeah,i dunno,just thought i would share my story to show,YES,sometimes PARENTS are INSANEEE!!!…LOL

I don’t understand why Morris’s attorney didn’t bring up the previous offense? If he did… why wouldn’t the judge order some kind of counseling (at the very least) for this girl?
How many more men will this girl have to bamboozle before someone takes action against HER and her PARENTS? She’s obviously seeking out these older men — only to fuck up their lives in the process.
She’s gonna end up with more trouble than she can handle someday if someone doesn’t intervene soon.

yeah, this seems a little crappy to me. jail time? i mean, the guy was dumb, but it sounds like once he started to get a suspicion about her age, he went to her dad– not something you’d do if you weren’t at least a little concerned about her overall well-being.

Wow…I’d hafta agree with some of the other posters here…what happened to meet the family first, poke it later? I mean this guy was smart enough to talk to the dad (who ratted him out) but that was AFTER they had sex. Not a kewl move. And what 19 yr old divorcee still lives with their father?

This almost sounds like child neglect on the father’s part…”staying out late all night”, “teenage daughter going out on several dates with these guys”…where was he when she STARTED dating him. Or even where was he when she started dating the first guy? If my daughter did something like that, I’d make sure she was punished appropriately and NOT staying out late all night.

Kinda reminds of Maury where all those girls are on the show having sex cause they like it, or want to have kids that young. I wonder if they really can charge this girl with something, not that she’s uber guilty…I just think she knew she was approaching people wrongly about her age, and that she knew she shouldn’t of.

Seriously, I’ve never met a 13 yr old that lies and says they are “divorced” and 19 years old. This is going to sound harsh, but…isn’t there a way to stop these little kids from trying to act like adults to pick up other adults? Yeah these guys are at fault, but this girl is adding onto the usual cliche of “she acted like she was older”.

I do believe there should be a system whereby a judge in a case like this can order that the accused not be placed on the sex offender list. There would have to be checks and balances on such a decision though.

I agree, there does need to be something in place for such rare offenses like this. Dude, #2, even if he was concerned about himself and not the girl, well, he wanted to obey the law or perhaps he really believes, as he should, that THIS SHIT IS WRONG!

Since we can’t read his mind, its hard to say WHY he did contact her dad. He did contact the dad as soon as he thought some thing was up. Gotta give credit where credit is due. He tried to correct his mistake unlike most adults in these messed up situations.

I guess I have to believe he thought he was making the father “aware” in some way, or he wouldn’t have went to her dad – he would have just backed off, threats of exposure or not. Ya know, make her “prove it” and all that. .
