Joshua Kati Killed James Muddiman Sr.
South Bend, IN - Joshua Kati is currently serving a twenty-year home detention for dealing cocaine. At least, he was until early Saturday morning, when he killed a man. James E. Muddiman Sr., 63, was working his first night as a security guard at South Bank Bar in South Bend. When Kati’s girlfriend tried to leave with a drink in her hand, Muddiman stopped her.
James Muddiman got hit for his trouble. Hit hard. With one massive punch, Joshua Kati clocked Mr, Muddiman in the side of the head and sent him falling to the concrete floor. Muddiman’s head bounced, and it was lights out for the man who was just trying to do his job. He died later on Saturday of his injuries.
Joshua Kati’s Myspace has been made private - too bad. But it does show a picture on the front, and his “mind is on his money”. Kati has a record. He’s been convicted of theft, domestic battery, harassment, and resisting arrest - all that aside from his 2004 conviction for selling 30 grams of cocaine to an undercover cop. And what the hell kind of home detention lets people go to bars? I’m just curious, because if that’s the case, I’m moving to Indiana before I commit any felonies.
James Muddiman, Sr. has a record, too. He was a Vietnam veteran who served his country well, raised his family, and ran a private investigation company, Infinity Investigations. He also worked as a part-time security officer for Indiana University South Bend. Not really the same kind of record, is it?
Joshua Kati is charged with aggravated battery and reckless homicide. He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on $100,000 cash bond.

I love how they think that we should have ’sympathy’ and that we ‘don’t know what they are going through.’ You are right. I don’t know what you are going through and frankly, I don’t give a shit. The piece of shit that you are defending killed a man. Killed him. A 63 year old Veteran. AND MRSA is not the flesh eating disease. It is a very dangerous staph infection that is actually spread mostly through hospitals and other health care settings. And it can be prevented simply by practicing good hygiene and hand washing habits.
I still feel bad for his family. Whether you did or not, people loved this man, innocent people that had nothing to do with his son. He had other family members and grand children.
