UPDATE 7/23/08 - Our buddy Cesar pleaded guilty to raping the 4-year-old girl and will spend up to 40 years in prison. More details at bottom of article
SPRINGDALE, Ark. 2/13/08 — Cesar Monarrez, 18, otherwise known as “Bubba”, is a part-time teacher at the Royal Children’s Academy in Springdale. He worked at the day care for about four months until a 4-year-old girl told authorities that her privates were burning because “Bubba” touched her with a knife inside his pocket.
Authorities then reviewed some close-circuit video which showed Monarrez putting his hands down the little girl’s pants while she was sleeping. Monarrez has now been charged with rape and is being held in the Washington County jail on $ 100, 000 bond.. THe director of the daycare facility, Howard Davis, stated that “There wasn’t anything that we saw or heard from any of our employees that would let us think for a second that there was something going on“.
What is kind of surprising is that the allegations were made on Feb 5th by the parents of the girl, but Davis has not notified other parents until now. His reasoning? Davis said he chose not to notify parents of other day care students because he did not know what to tell them for sure. Now that Monarrez has been officially charged with rape, Davis said, he plans to send out a letter.
In other words, some of the parents of kids that go to that daycare are finding out for the first time from the news or even this site, that video was seen of Monarrez fingering a 4-year-old within the walls of that daycare. I guess some parents will be asking their children some very sensitive questions this afternoon after picking up their children from the Royal Children’s Academy.
UPDATE 5/16/08 - Sorry I’m a little late on this one, but on May 9, Cesar Monarrez’ attorney filed a motion stating that Monarrez will use “not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect” as his defense. What this means is that the videotape didn’t lie. On discovery, the defense realized their boy did it, and there was no way he could plead otherwise. By mounting a mental disease or defect defense, Bubba’s dream team will argue that yeah, he did it, but he did it because he’s crazy and couldn’t help himself.
As opposed to pleading guilty and just letting Bubba go to prison, the hope is that he will instead be sentenced to a mental health facility, where he is less likely to become someone’s bitch and then could get out in a few years and rape children some more. Well, that’s helpful. We’ll see if an Arkansas jury buys it.
Update 7/23/08 - We’ll it has finally happened. Cesar Monerrez pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of sexual assault. Each conviction carries a sentence of 20 years. Have fun you fucking, fuck.

Jun 3, 2008 at 11:41 am -Just wanted to update this story with some information we were given. There is video and the next court date will be July 14th. To add to the heinousness of this crime, the assault on the little girl was done on her birthday.
I hope that someone on the legal team has taken note of the friends that came in to vouch for Bubba…seeing as the defense is now trying to paint the guy as a retard or something who just couldn’t help himself. I cannot WAIT ’til the 14th of July.

As for the child he harmed, she is all that matters. Her recovery is the most important thing. Her healing and living a carefree, loved, stable, and happy life is all her family cares about. His sentencing on July 14th will never fix what he did, but i promise you her mother will delight in knowing whatever slight mercy the Arkansas Department of Corrections shows him, the devil will more than make up for when he goes to hell. He’s lucky he isnt there already, the only thing keeping her parents from killing him is the knowledge of what he will be given in jail and then the endless suffering when he departs this earth.
With saying that id like to add that no one gives a crap about who thinks he’s cool, who loves him, or what any other person from his or his familys social class thinks. He hurt a child. A TODDLER. Lets not take focus off of that. Not for one second. Bashing him does bring a small amount of amusement, but taking focus off his crime to argue amongst ourselves clouds the issue. People that hurt children arent worth the effort it takes to spit in their face, and i think thats something all of HER supporters will agree to.

Morbid had been privy to some inside info on this case for awhile and it’s been up and down for weeks - there was a plea deal on the table, then there wasn’t.. the victim’s family has really been through hell here. Keeping the little girl off the stand has been a priority for the prosecution because of the trauma involved to the child, and I’m really glad it’s worked out this way. That videotape was very compelling evidence.
Damn, I guess Courkie and friends will have to go visit Bubba in prison now. Awwww.

Support a pedophile, and you’re just as guilty as s/he is, in my book, because you’re willing to turn a blind eye to what that person is capable of doing, or is doing. I understand you don’t want to believe someone you know and care about is capable of such a horrible thing, but damn… calling that poor little girl a stupid kid is just…. damn. My whole family made the choice not to believe me when things came out about my sperm donor, so maybe I just have hard feelings in that area.
And those poor parents, they probably thought they had chosen a good place to send their daughter while they worked. I’m not a working mom, but it’s gotta be so hard to trust that someone else is going to watch your child and take care of them the way you will, and then this happens.

They only really had the tape as evidence. The tape was obviously incriminating… enough that his lawyers knew he was guilty and wanted the “he did it but was mentally ill”. Enough that they knew he would get convicted. Enough that they urged a harsh plea bargain.
The asshole didn’t plead to save prison time… no matter what he or anyone says. He received the MAX for the lesser counts plus they are consecutive so he gets 40.
The counts of rape that he was initially charged with carry terms of 10-40 years. As a “first time caught” pedophile, he would have had a minimal sentence anyway… and probably concurrent also. We all know how that goes.
All he was doing was “doing the right thing” and sparing the victim from testifying. Doesn’t change my opinion of him one bit.
Poor Courkie has no common sense. Hope she gets some before she grows up or falls prey to someone.
