May 24, 2008 at 2:07 pm -I, for one, am ready to start “yelling” about how Denise was failed by so many of the people who were supposed to protect her. Below is the contact information for all of the people I can think of to whom we should write. Even if you do not live in our districts or even our state, please consider trying to get the word out about what happened to Denise. If it could happen to her, it could happen to any of us. Also, please forward this information to others, so that they too may express outrage at what happened. The stalking and harrassment laws in TX are “decent”, but the law enforcement personnel in Collin County are often reluctant to enforce them to their full extent. That needs to change.

Benefit concert starring Jim Suhler, Mike Morgan, and an otherwise un-named “cast of special guests,” on Sunday, June 29, from 4 to 8pm at Cadillac Pizza Pub, 112 S. Kentucky in McKinney, 972-547-DUDE. Donations will be accepted for D’s girls. From what I understand, the donations will go to the memorial fund that was set up for them. If this changes, I will let you know.
For those who do not know Jim Suhler, the man (and his band, Monkey Beat) just rocks! I, for one, feel so honored that he is taking time out to do this for D and her girls. I just can’t articulate how much this means to me. And to Mike and all the other “un-named” special guests, thank you, so very much, for doing this for us! We may not know you, but you should receive a big wet sloppy kiss from everyone you meet that day for what you are doing for D, her family and all of us who knew and loved her.

His best friend who had a sister who was pregnant at 16 commented on how he would like to “do her”.
What is funny is he even stole merchandise from his best friend whose name I will not mention, and his best friend still associated with him.
I loaned him some money for some cigarettes, he tried to rip me off and not pay me back. But trust you me, I chased to puke for it until he paid.
Ever since I knew Bent-Brent he never held a job, got fired from about every one. Why anybody would hire him, I got no idea.
Perhaps it was his education that he got at Marshalltown Senior High School. It looked good on a resume to an unintelligent employer.
After all the parties at his place, and noticing that his parents seemed to be never home, it appeared that all they did is throw money at him, so they would not have to deal with him. Neglect via rich white folks.
He was even in the Russian Club at his shit-hole high school…And went to the Soviet Union. Even brought back a bottle of russian pepsi for his near brain-dead girl friend.
He then went to college at University of Iowa in Iowa city.
And he had access to a bit of his folks money, they even had some emergency fund in case something went sideways in his life. Which he spent on…Spandex pants.
In Iowa city, his main hobbies were:
A) Breaking into cars and stealing property out of them
B) Selling it to the local pawn shop.
C) Spending the money on LSD or Meth when he could find it. He even found heroin in Iowa City once. Came back to his hometown of Marshalltown bragging about his heroin experience like he was some kind of war hero. But he did A LOT of L.S.D. in Iowa city.
D) Trying to con people into bringing his girl friend to Iowa city from Marshalltown in exchange for drugs. Which he always came up empty handed. At one time some people went down there to get some drugs, and drop off his girlfriend, and he was in a dorm room having sex with some other girl. He eventually turned up. Found his girlfriend, and then did not fulfill his promise to deliver “the goods” to his friends.
So he was mostly into chasing sex with other easy college girls getting high with them and having sex with them, and ripping people off and breaking up relationships in the process.
Needless to say, he totally failed at college.
He later on moved back to Marshalltown, Iowa his home town and moved in with his folks.
With his move back to his home town, he seemed to be infatuated with meth. Just could not get enough of it.
Eventually he lost his brain-dead girl friend he had and cheated on for years. She never returned to him.
After a period of time, he met Denise in Marshalltown.
He bragged about how she was only “with” one other guy before him. I met Denise, she was a true sweetheart. And I thought to myself. What the hell is something as sweet as her doing with this bleached turd?
Once again, all he did is cheat on her.
One one of my friends, he had sex with his girlfriend while he was going out with Denise! This friend of mine was giving him a ride to denise’s house way out in the country in marshall country. If you know the territory her house was out in “Egypt” beyond where the radio/TV station KDAO was located. On the way there he bragged about the sex he had with this guys girlfriend. He also had sex one of her sisters in the past as well. I got no idea why that guy didn’t snap his neck when he announced him cheating on his Denise with this other girl.
Even before they were engaged, he was cheating on her, with other women. And possibly men as well.
His father worked at Fisher Controls as some executive, who then got transferred down to Texas. So what did he do? Follow the money, (his parents) moved down to Texas, and Denise followed him.
From what I remember he went to a technical school to learn how to repair banking machines, and got a good paying job.
Naturally as soon as cash is in his hands, it all went up his nose.
Later on, he got arrested for window peeping. Yes, window peeping. See what I mean about how perverted this guy is?
I think he went to a rehab for meth from what I heard from a friend, and apparently. He failed it miserably.
But Denise, being the golden hearted girl, stuck with him and contended with his issues, until the end.
The last thing I heard, is that Brent and Denise broke up, and Brent came out of the closet, exposing his homosexuality he has been trying to conceal for years.
Since day one, he did nothing lie, cheat and steal from Denise, a creature of compassion and kindness.
So if there are any dad’s on here trying to defend him due to his child support issues…
heh, Think again before you rush to the defense of white trash like bent-brent. And also think of how he was raised….And who raised him. Ignorant, rich white folks.
There are always two sides to every story. And now you seen the other side.
Sorry if this caused any grief to anybody out there. But people on here needed to before informed about how much a talking piece of shit/twat waffle Brent is.
I wish the death penalty on Brent. Even before this I wished it upon him. No, on second thought I wish he was tortued for weeks or months, and then given the chair/needle/gas.

I strongly urge anyone affected by Brent Seaman/Stephens to be brave and seek psychiatric counseling or the depression & anger from this horrific event will get the best of us.
Do what Denise would want us to do:
Get help, and stop the suffering and pain.
I’ll assume under Texas law Brent will get a very well deserved death penalty punishment for this, does any body know if he is eligible?
If he is eligible…His day of execution will be a day of celebration for the rest of my life.
Bastard better not try to pull the “insantiy” plea. I know plenty of people who are bi-polar who are not vicious like Brent. So let’s not tar and feather the bi-polar population over what Brent did.

Jun 5, 2008 at 1:22 am -Unfortunately, it does not appear that Texas Penal Code Section 19.03 will give a jury permission to consider the death penalty. I am considering contacting certain individuals to see if they would present a bill to the legislature that would make a defendant death penalty eligible if the crime of murder is committed while a protective order is pending.
Regarding Dateline, not yet. Hopefully, this matter will continue to receive appropriate publicity to raise funds for Denise’s children. That is where the emphasis is now. For those interested, the Memorial Fund is referenced somewhere above.
Event Horizon, you might be a good character witness for the prosecution. Cindie Nahas is one of the prosecutors if you are interested (Dallas County). It would shed light in a jury trial from one who knew this loser since childhood and his character. It may also help to expose what he was from childhood forward to preclude any jury from seriously considering any argument that he was insane and/or mentally ill.

If you got to know any people that knew bent-brent back where he originated from in Marshalltown, Iowa. Virtually all of them would be saying something about how Brent Seaman/Stevens ripped them off and done them dirty.
I still stick to what I say, as fucked up as it sounds…
He should not be executed immediately.
He should be tortured over a peroid of time, and then finished off.
Or….For you unpatient people: Have the government do to him, what he did to Denise. Beat him into a coagulating puddle of blood with baseball bats. Just long enough for him to stay alive. (And make his relatives watch the process.)
After that… :]
Pour salt and lemon juice on him, and drag him behind his own truck for a few miles until he is just a stain on a chain and a big red streak on the road.
And he told Denise he “Knew some very bad people.” heh, he hasn’t known bad people yet. Trust me. That bleached turd has got no idea what “bad people really are.”
I hope and prey that somebody out there will contact somebody in the prison where he will be residing, and make sure that he encounters…All the pain that Denise and all of us have endured from what he did to that wonderful caring human being.

One thing the counseling just can’t seem to do, is flush that talking piece of shit (brent) of my head.

Get rid of these judges. They are not doing their elected jobs. We know what brent was served to each tim he went in front of them and we know what time he did or should I say did not do.

Can somebody contact Dr. Nace and have him set up a paypal account, so we can get more money to him, and faster.
Most of us are very busy and don’t have time to post a letter, but we all have the time to use paypal.
A paypal transaction takes just a few seconds. Not to mention….How much more easier it would make people overseas in the armed forces to help contribute as well. Jun 6, 2008 at 6:34 am -So none of you guys are going to Bullshit me and say she didn’t suffer horribly…No Love for EdT. Quick story. I had stopped seeing the Doc and taking meds for a period of time and hit a really, really low spot. I called Late in the afternoon and talked to Denise. She called me back in 5 minutes and got me in to see Dr. Nace the next morning. Just the fact they cared,showed concern and compassion was the best medicine for me. I miss appointments, I am usually late and never even a bad vibe. I still had to pay! My humor and good looks must have allowed them to put up with me. I think I was Dr.Naces last appointment that tragic day and we talked for awhile. He stated, “this realy hasn’t sunk in yet” or something close and excused himself for a private moment. We finished up and it was terrible seeing this kind, gentle soul so shaken and distraught while still trying to be there for me. He wouldn’t have told me if I had not asked. I was glad he told me instead of seeing the news. It will be tough for me to walk back in that office. Dr. Nace does it every day..Has to be tough…..How about some thoughts and prayers for the good Doctor. This guy is always giving…church missions..a life dedicated to helping others…dealing with frickin nutjobs like me all day. I guess it’s obvious I have a deep respect for this man and it made it even more tragic to see him hurt to the core…WOW, what a ramble.

Event Horizon, from the stories you tell, and the stories that I have heard from D and Brent (one was something about a trashcan fire…) I think I may know who you are. If you’re not actually that one, I am still SO sorry that you had to experience his….bullshit for so long. I’ve known them both for 13 years, but that was 13 years too many to know him. He basically continued in the same vein here. Thanks for letting us read what went before. Maybe we can manage to get you here for the trial.
I will see what can be done about a paypal account. I think it would have to be done through the bank, but I don’t know right now. Let me check…..
As for the therapy thing, I’ve not been a big believer in that, but I finally found a no-bullshit kind of guy. It was really good to be able to regurgitate the whole story, from the beginning, to someone who was totally objective. Well, okay, he called Brent a f-ing SOB, but I still think he was more objective than anyone else around me.
And, just my opinion, if given the choice of having your abuser/murderer spend a minimum of 30 years in TDC custody in a cell the size of your guest bathroom (sharing with Bubba and his brothers), or having him put down quietly, like a dog, which would you prefer? I, for one, prefer the 30+ years. And for those who oppose due to the money, I would be willing to write a check, every single month, to help offset his cost for as long as it takes, or until I die…….

I lived in Marshalltown for a job many many moons ago, and left as soon as I could get out. It was horrible. I remember calling a friend and telling her that every time I looked out my window, I’d see people that looked like they’d fallen off the evolutionary ladder after having only climbed halfway up. Scary, scary people. No offense to the good folks there, there surely are some, but I snickered inside when I read that this dirtbag was originally from M’town - it just figured. I didn’t know him, but who knows if he was one of the many scary people I often saw outside my window.

Someone would have to fork over $100,000 in cash, plus assets to equal $1M to set him free. From what I have been told, there have been no attempts to secure bond for him. I have made contacts that will alert me if anyone makes the attempt, and I will do everything in my power to make sure that he is not set free……
Remember, he followed me around and often parked up the street from my house, the last time being ~3 days before D was murdered. I promise that I am ON this! The last thing I want is for him to be roaming the streets of McK…….

Why has the major news media not picked up on this story? If they have I have missed it. I figured Nancy Grace would cover it. I used to be in favor of the death penalty, but now I’ve read that it costs more for a prisoner to work through all the appeals and finally be executed than it does to keep her/him for the rest of their life. I like the idea of 30 years of misery and think it should be misery until he dies. This story has made me heartsick. That a predator was allowed to roam free and take the life of this woman. I never met her, but I can tell what a treasure she was from the comments left here by her friends.
And, yes, I will keep the doctor in my thoughts and prayers, too.

Prison is not a punishment. TV, cable, visits with loved ones (even conjugal), gyms, activity yards, college education, libraries… etc. until you puke. Death row inmates are much more restricted.
Let their misery be that they know are going to die. They will feel sorry for themselves before they feel it for their victims.

Jun 6, 2008 at 10:47 pm -OK, from what I understand, the possibility of bail depends upon which county in which the crime was committed. His original bond was set at $100,000, and after the case was assigned to Judge Stoltz the next day, it was raised to $1M (Thank you, Judge!) And, I think, that in TX there is no such thing as life in prison without the possibility of parole. This may be incorrect, and I would appreciate anyone’s comments that clarify this if I am wrong.

They don’t give a shit about tv or a library, and a gym? you must have forgotten who we are talking about, maybe someday but not now and not for a very long time. In jail or prison it doesn’t matter what the jailers say you can do, if another inmates tells you can’t to you get a fucking shiv than you don’t. You have to earn the right from other inmates for any of these things. He doesn’t get them, when he goes outside he stands by himself or with other new blood, doesn’t talk and looks down at the ground while trying to see out of the corner of his eyes where the next beating is coming from. But he is not standing very still he is jittery for many reasons but mainly he had to kick his 20+ year drug habit overnight, new inmates also don’t get drugs. As for right now you can rest assured he has been beaten severely several times, and been raped repeatedly. Keep in mind this is only the Dallas county jail, but Texas is lacking prison space and currently the state is housing 10,100 prisoners in county jails that would normally be in prisons. He is in the same county jail where 11 inmates have died in the last 3 years due to poor medical care, so what happens to him when he is found out for killing his wife and leaving 3 kids motherless? What happens when some bad ass, who is in prison for killing someone who killed one of his loved ones, or maybe his daughter, finds out what brent did? It’s over for brent. Or when someone fucks him in the ass and he doesn’t get proper medical care when his ass is bleeding buckets. I may be wrong, these things may not have happened to him yet, but they sure as hell will when he goes to prison and has to start the whole thing over again. I knew brent a long time ago and he will never make friend with the right people in prison. By right people I really mean the true bad asses, that you want on your side if you are in jail or prison. But I am quite sure your right, he is feeling sorry for himself for many reasons, He can’t get drugs, he didn’t jump, and he can’t control Denise anymore. I’m sure right now he wishes he hadn’t done what he did, but I’m not sure if he wishes that for Denise or for the 3 girls or for himself.

I don’t think this could be tried as a Capital crime, so he is probably looking at a lesser charge of murder. 5 to 99 years.

Most any felon will tell you that they prefer prison time to jail time. Prison is cushier than jail because of the duration of stays the inmates face. Enough of them have told me that so I tend to believe it.
The murderer of my sister spent his time in Texas prison “to be near his family”. He was not killed or raped there. He must have enjoyed it because he is now back in prison. Yes prison is bad, but many people seem to go in and out of it without the dire consequences you talked about.
While we may view the murder as heinous, in prison he would be just another lifer. If he is not in segregation, he will eventually settle in and enjoy all the “perks” I mentioned. He has no choice.
The scum will always prefer freedom. But they have to take what they can get. At least with a death sentence, I hope they will have the misery knowing they will be put down and not die a natural death. That would be a misery for any self-center person.

I forgot how completely locked-down death row is compared to the rest of the population. I wish we could make the general population as miserable. On May 28th, 2008, Brent Stephens’ father testified he retained his lawyer (also Brent Stephens’ lawyer) 8 days before having Betty served with his lawsuit, which was filed the day before Memorial Day weekend. You may draw your own conclusions about the reasons for that delay.
The Court denied all access by the paternal grandparents until an amicus can interview the children and make recommendations. Despite that ruling, the grandparents filed yet another motion yesterday demanding now that they be able to give the 2 year old gifts and to see her. That Motion is public record as will be my response.
Unfortunately, Texas does not have life without the possibility of parole.

Are his parents the ones who made him psycho? If they would be a bad influence on the girls I can understand it, but if not, the more loving arms the better I say. Maybe I missed something?
