Top, L to R: Donald Hawk, Madeline Hawk; Bottom, L to R: Melissa Chandler, Jennifer Leonard
Kokomo, IN - Well, look what we have here: Donald and Madeline Hawk, Melissa Chandler, and Jennifer Leonard. This group of unattractive asshats thought it would be fun to systematically torture two four-year-old children, a boy and a girl. The children were found and hospitalized on Monday.
Both children were found on Monday after Melissa Chandler called police, saying she was not being allowed to see her daughter. Her sister Jennifer Leonard is the mother of the little boy. I believe this Myspace page probably belongs to Jennifer Leonard, although she has lost weight and lied about her age. In the photo albums are pictures of her with a small boy about the right age to be the male victim in this case.
What officers found inside the house was heartbreaking. Both preschoolers were suffering from open wounds and many other injuries. The little girl’s hands and arms were broken in several places, and both children were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.
The children were allegedly held without food and water for long stretches of time, and both were restrained with zip ties at times. One child was locked in a closet for three weeks, and both children were kept in the closet for shorter periods.
Donald Hawk, 33, was charged only with child neglect. Madeline Hawk, 42, was charged with neglect and battery. Jennifer Leonard, 36, was charged with neglect and inducing or causing battery. Melissa Chandler, 30, was also charged with neglect and inducing or causing battery.
As information on this case is still sketchy, I’ll update as I get more information.

Something doesn’t add up; Wait a minute…we are dealing with brain surgeons here…Looks like some family tree tangles too…
“Fugly” nails it for this bunch.
I wish they could be strung up by some zip ties and left in pain to starve.

#2) Open wounds, zip ties, broken bones? Poor babies.

May 6, 2008 at 1:07 pm -Y’all ever notice how the people starving their kids are almost always fat?
It can’t be a food shortage.
And if Donald Hawk is 33, that’s just ..ew. That dude looks 50. So does his wife.

It’s not their fault you hit every single twig and branch as you fell from the ugly tree. Christ ladies, when they trade you in prison, it will get them a puff - not whole smoke. And to fat fuck with the jowls that probably hang to your man boobs - ewwww….

May 6, 2008 at 2:39 pm -Oh my god. This is the ugliest group of people I have ever seen on one page.
Those poor little babies.
Are they all related? Closely? This guy is 33?!
Imagine being abused by these sacks of shit? How scary.
I want to kill these abusive fat sucks.
Hurt them first really bad and then kill them.
That little boy on the myspace, crappy photo and all, is a little doll.

Is Melissa a guy or a girl? Other than the long hair, it is kind of hard to tell.
Those poor children. I think this bunch needs to starve for a while so they know how it is. Obviously, they don’t go without food.

I am back to the razor blades, alcohol pool and a salt garnish. Now thats great cuisine. “mmm”

May 7, 2008 at 10:05 am -Absofuckinglutely Pooh. Hope they can be placed in a home, and not just some fucked up in it for the money foster home and tossed around like a salad in prison.
They are young enough, they could heal, lets hope CPS doesn’t fuck this case up.

May 7, 2008 at 10:14 am -Yes, they are young enough to heal and maybe, just maybe with a little luck, most of this ordeal will not be remembered. That would not be the case with me. I can remember real far back in my early childhood, not everyday life but highlights or events. At four, I would certainly have remembered. My brothers are not the same way, however. Most of the things they talk about remembering, start after schoolage. Maybe these two won’t be blessed with a vivid, long term memory, as there are plenty of things that need to be “wiped away” for these poor children.

May 7, 2008 at 10:31 am -I don’t know. I wish I had a nice safe place for all of them to go. A place where nothing but love and understanding exists for these poor children. It is a sad state of affairs, if you ask me.

May 7, 2008 at 3:08 pm -I wish I knew. We can’t take children away from people who are merely sketchy, they have a right to be sketchy. And I will defend that freedom forever. Most “sketchy” people love and care for their kids as best they can, and their kids are fine. Problem is, “abusive” lives a millimeter away from “sketchy,” and the transition can happen overnight or over the course of years. Or never, of course.
Eons ago, I had a hamster that had a litter of 14 or 16 babies. Within a day, she had mastitis, was really sick and clearly wouldn’t be able to make it much longer. That night while I was asleep, she apparently ate about six babies - much to my horror… but the mastitis cleared up and the rest of them all thrived after that. That instinct is nature’s way of dealing with offspring that are too burdensome for animals to rear. As humans, we have free will we can use to override primitive instincts, but sometimes people just don’t, I guess.
That’s the only explanation I can come up with. How else could a person look into a child’s eyes, so guileless and trusting, and full of need for comfort, safety and affection, and still do this kinda shit to them?

May 7, 2008 at 3:15 pm -Its beyond me why or how they can do the things they do. That’s why so many of us just say “put them down, forever”. Painlessly or painfully, no matter, just put them down and save the children!

Undeniable Truth
May 7, 2008 at 3:23 pm -I know this is going to sound corny michelle, but I wish I could just say: Send them all to me. It kills me to see this shit. My husband and I have been talking about becoming foster parents after some of our kids (we have 6 total) move out. We just don’t have the space in our home right now, and are stuck between a rock (a 140K mortgage) and a hard place (a 140K mortgage) right now as far as getting a larger home is concerned.
Sigh. Someday though, I’m pretty sure I can safely say that it will happen.
