Carrie Williams-Thompson as herself on Dreamin' Demon!Carrie Williams-Thompson as Kooki The Clown on Dreamin' Demon

L: Carrie Williams-Thompson as herself; R: as Kooki the Clown

Prescott, AZ  - Kooki the Clown likes to work carnivals, state fairs, and little old ladies.  She enjoys face painting, bereavement counseling, buying things, going on cruises, buying things, updating her Myspace page, and buying more things.  Kooki, aka Carrie Williams-Thompson, 48,  is accused of stealing over $500,000 of a 90-year-old widow’s money.  That’s a lot of face paint.

Williams-Thompson allegedly began offering her services to the victim as a bereavement counselor in 2002, not long before the woman’s husband died.  Shortly after the victim’s husband’s death, Williams-Thompson managed to get a durable power of attorney, essentially allowing her control of the woman’s finances.

And then Kooki the Clown went shopping.  She bought cruises, vehicles, a fifth-wheel trailer, and even at least one house with funds belonging to the victim.  No doubt her defense will call the expenditures “gifts”, but the victim and her banker noticed some unusual transactions recently.  Williams-Thompson’s own Myspace page shows a fairly new pickup truck, travel pictures, even new tattoos.  It appears that Williams-Thompson may have helped purchase a home for her daughter with stolen funds as well.

Police found Williams-Thompson in Corona, California, where she was performing as Kooki with a fair.  She is being extradited to Arizona, where she will be charged with theft, fraud, forgery, financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult, and unlawful use of power of attorney.

Got our facts straight from the news and the courts, so how about if you enlighten us on the story we don’t have? I’m always happy to revise or add information when i can verify my source.

So are you Carrie’s daughter, then?

Daughter - enlighten us about what you think we missed here.

I also have a question. What were this woman’s qualifications to be a bereavement counselor? I was just curious how she got the job.

She got the facts from news sources. If you have different information, why not share it to the group, or go tell it to those same news sources.

I’m sure it does. I’m certain that Carrie’s kids had no idea where the money was coming from.

I dunno, TMS, there’s a photo of a house on the daughter’s MySpace; in March, Carrie left a comment something like, “Too bad you let it go.”

Every single fucking time a blog covers a crime story like this, someone — a friend, family member, whatever — comes along and either e-mails or comments telling the blogger they don’t know shit. And they always ignore the fact that mainstream sources and court docs are used to make the story.

To the family and friends of most of these people, even a guilty verdict doesn’t matter — they’ll always be utterly convinced that their precious whatever (mom, brother, daughter) either had reasons, or the story was just more complicated than any of us could ever know.

It makes them feel better. Denial is a powerful, powerful human emotion.

I have a feeling, Daughter, that if your good ol Kookie mommy was on the other side of this and was the one getting duped that SOMEHOW your opinion may change…mom or not, have you ever heard of enabler…grow up, seriously.

She has a star on the end of her nose. If I were a kid, I would feel robbed. Why, Mommy, why, does the clown have this placeholder instead of a real clown nose? Is her nose the capital of her face?

Leave her alone! Didn’t you people notice her dad officiated the wedding mommy paid for! Must be a fine preacher or judge and we know people who hold those positions have perfect families!! You should spend more time finding Goldman’s REAL killer with O.J.!!

LOL…not only that, but in AZ (where I was married) ANYONE can perform a marriage ceremony. We had one of our friends sign up on line, became a free internet minister, and she signed the marriage license. And she didn’t even need proof of her internet credentials.

I wonder if that picture that shows her new set up was also bought they mention a trailer and i see she shows one along with a pic that says old set up
She thought she was living on easy street.
Someone forgot to tell her crime does not pay.
wonder if she bought Rex’s Truck too?

i hope anything they prove that was bought with the stolen money gets taken and given to the person she robbed house cars whatever
At least they can sell it off and get some money back sadly they likely do not have too much coming from Kookie Cause iI am betting she is a sad clown now that she has tasted jail. And well no one wants to pay to see a sad clown

Too bad she did not stick with face painting she did have some talent in that.

A good part of her schtick is that a girl like that is never, NEVER, smart enough to outrun the authorities for the rest of her life.

She will be found in some stupid town south of the border with 500 bucks to her name.

If this is any indicator to the level of her expertise, well then, we know where this is going.

Friend_7, I’m not clear on what exactly it is you expect us to be ashamed of. None of us are accused of bilking a widow out of half a million dollars. And believe me, we have plenty of compassion for that lady.

We’re not a court of law, so we’re not interested in your “innocent until proven guilty” remarks. Read this link before you post again, thanks:

lol! Friend_7 is DISAPPOINTED in you all! I agree with them, too! You are all a bunch of losers with no lives! Innocent until proven guilty! Let he without sin cast the first stone! You are all a bunch of fat housewives! Until she is sitting in a jail cell convicted of her crimes, you all better not EVER utter a word about her aside from professing her innocence!

I am ASHAMED of all of you!

I should be ashamed to think folks who bilk the elderly are pond scum? What did people think of such behavior before anonymity online? When I am with friends offline should I be accepting?

I should be ashamed to think a person was arrested on cause.? Maybe I AM wrong… maybe she was arrested ’cause the cops just wanted a trip to the fair and she was a handy reason.

Only shame here, beyond the charges made, is anyone not making Carrie Williams-Thompson accountable for her actions in all that.

We are letting the legal system do its job… Step one: arrest.

I hate clowns. There’s something wrong with people who want to paint their faces like a cartoon so they can harass other people in “fun.”

But I really hate people who take advantage of the elderly. Bereavement counselor — well, who’s going to counsel this poor elderly lady about having been bereaved of a half-million dollars??
