Michael Vondueren on Dreamin' Demon

Sacramento, CA - He also loves the aliases. Police in Sacramento were surprised when they arrived at Michael Louis Vondueren’s home on Saturday morning. Vondueren, who is also known as Michael Parnell or Michael Piumelli, didn’t want to let officers into his house. Neither did he want to talk about the disconnected 911 call. So, fearing for the safety of Mike’s 81-year-old mother, officers entered anyway.

On entering the home, police realized that gas masks might have been a good idea. The stench was horrific, there were at least twenty live cats, and the living conditions were unsafe by any standard. There were three chest-style freezers in the house. Given the odor and the reluctance of Vondueren to let them in, officers got a search warrant. Inside the freezers? Three hundred dead cats. Not three, not thirty. Three hundred. Tonight-we-dine-in-hell 300.

Mike’s elderly mother was alive and apparently safe inside the home, although she was removed from the home by Sacramento Adult Protective Services. The house was sealed off, which I can’t imagine is helping the smell any. The live cats were transported to a shelter, and the dead ones were wheeled out in their freezer coffins by police. Police don’t know what Vondueren’s motive was in keeping all those dead cats.

Michael Vondueren, 46, is being held on a felony charge of possessing an automatic weapon. He is also charged with misdemeanor obstructing an officer, and police say more charges may be forthcoming. He’s at the Sacramento County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Well, that’s just foul and nasty!!!

Was he eating those frozen kitties?? Or was he saving them for the corner Chinese joint??

  2. That is SO not what I meant when I told Richard Dreyfuss he could get all the pussy he wanted if he became an actor.
I also told him to move out of his mothers house already for christ sakes, but does he listen? Noooooo!
I’m glad I’ve got trustworthy demons heading up my Scientology and Kabbalah departments, I hate working with these Hollywood types.

  3. Mandella says:

Did he kill the cats, I wonder? Or did they expire of natural causes?

This will make all the difference in whether or not I decide to hate on this guy.

OMG, it is! I’d wondered what happened to that guy!

Finally a match for jaileen, I wonder if he is into body painting too?

LMAO @ Tonight-we-dine-in-hell. I think he was using those kitties as toupees. =/

Good one! “Toupées by Vondueren” does have a nice ring to it…

  8. Wonder says:

    unbelievable geeeeeesh

wheeled out in their freezer coffins

    how sad

Well, he made one into a toupee, was planning on a fur coat for his momma, a vest for himself, hot plate gloves (no need to skin ‘em, just hands straight up the ying yang) and a couple merkins for socialising. Wait - that still leaves hundreds…

  10. impqueen says:

    hehhh.. merkins. :snortgiggle:

  11. michelle says:

    A “JAWS” reference:
“We’re gonna need a bigger freezer”

What a weirdo. However, what I find amazing is the $50,000 bond. Hell, we have people abusing others that didn’t get a bond that high. WHY? Now, I don’t pretend to understand what’s up with this guy and his 300 plus cats (alive and dead) - but this is a victimless crime. I know the article said he had an automatic weapon, does that rate a 50 grand bond?

AND, my bet is: ITS NOT AN AUTOMATIC but a semi-automatic or they would have more than likely charged him with a weapon of mass destruction. If the press uses the word “automatic” weapon it gets a bigger “rise” out of its readers. I find that to be a sorry practice by the press, to make one appear worse than they already are. Damn, they have already made the news and not for their contributions to society, so why not let their “real story” be just that - the story without feeling the need to make the person look like more of a villain? Or “eewwww the evil gun - you know he’s a bad man” - bullshit.

Now if he killed the cats or tortured them or anything bad, I can see his bond being set for 50K. But if the cats just died and he didn’t do anything but freeze them - not the best choice but what is his crime, other than needing to clean up? Why the $50,000 bond for freezing cats and not for people abusing people?

  13. akika666 says:

I think the high bond is kinda disproportionate as well, but maybe they want to hang onto him as long as they can, in order to figure out those additional charges. He might have been presented as a flight risk at his hearing…?

  14. thepooh5 says:

You could be right AKIKA and welcome. But, if he had any kind of an attorney, they should be able to get the bond reduced. Who’s taking care of his mother while he’s in lockup?

I’m just saying they slapped it to him, without a real reason, until they decide if they can come up with anything other than the weapon charge. And if they do, what’s it gonna be - animal cruelty? While 300 cats may have suffered or not at his hands, he still has not committed as much of a crime as those two making meth right with the children.

That’s not right. He should only have to make bond on what he is actually charged with, not on charges that “may or may never come”. Now, I would change my opinion, if he was thought to be a murderer or a rapist and holding him could prevent anyone else from being harmed until they could get the case together to present to a DA or judge. I don’t know if my thinking is constitutional or not, but a danger to others is a danger that can not be ignored. Freezing cats - not so much.

Did anyone get anything on the actual type of weapon he had in his possession?

Thanks for the welcome, pooh! I was here about a month ago, then couldn’t post, god knows why, and suddenly I am able to again. Yay for you, right?

Well, not that I know thing one about this, but he probably didn’t have much of a lawyer. I agree a good one should’ve been able to get this bond down to the 10 grand-ish area. But again, the pros. might have shown he was a flight risk.

Most likely, unless there is other family willing to step in (and it doesn’t look that way), his mother’s in a hospital awaiting nursing home placement.

I’m sure she’s not happy about that, even if she won’t have to smell cat piss. I would rather be in my own home with cat piss than at the mercy of others with no cat piss. As we just read about the girl raped when seeking therapy and in an old story, about a man raping the elderly in a nursing home. Scary shit. The poor old lady.

  17. Mandella says:

Yeah, I think the 50K would be more appropriate if his MOM had been in the freezer and not the kitties.

Granted, I love kitties, but really….50K?

Then again, our country’s sytem is all kinds of stupid. You could feasibly spend more time in jail on a measly marijuana posession charge than you might after raping children. For example.

Like I need to go off on tangents. Whatever.

Go ahead, tangent - that shit burns me to no end, too. Let’s put the real criminals and dangers to society in the pen. Priorities. Got to work on those priorities.
