It’s called “tough love”; he was showing you how easy it is for these deviants and how little time it can actually happen. I for one would applaud the Death Penalty for repeated Sex Offenders of children. Why on Earth do we continue to tolerate it? So far, no one has yet to provide a reasonable defense for NOT killing these scum.

Wow, seriously? What was the lesson supposed to be? “You can get got anywhere, no matter what”? I’d think a “lesson” like that only contributes to paranoia.

Incidentally, I did something similar to my boyfriend, once upon a time. He had borrowed my parents’ lawnmower to help a friend. My friend Jessica and I just happened to be driving down his friends street when we say the lawnmower, unsecured in the open trunk of his car, and the boys no where in sight. How dare he be so irresponsible with someone else’s stuff? So, Jessica and I snagged the lawnmower and drive it home without telling the boyfriend. The boyfriend called me, totally freaked out and apologetic, saying, “Honey, someone stole your dad’s lawnmower.” Well, I wasn’t trying to torture the poor guy, so I let him know what we had done. He was relieved and said he learned the lesson. :p

Is he a cop? Regardless, that was still a horrible thing for him to do. There are other ways of instructing a person. Like talking. I find that to be a useful activity in my marriage.

This guy knew exactly where his kid was and she still got victimized. Hell, she was just feet from her dad, it sounds like.

Its sometimes toooo easy for these chesters my husband proved that to me in not a very nice manner. My first son was just old enough sit in the seat of a shopping cart and i was at wal-mart with my sister and my son. My sister and i were busy putting our bags in the car and he was in the cart when i turned around my son was gone. I started to freak out my heart started racing. Little did i know my husband had saw us and took him to teach me a lesson. You can be the most protective mother or father in the world yet there are those stupid little things that allows these nasty perverted pedifiles to do what they do.

I still think we should throw them in the ocean for shark meals.

Since are laws don’t seem to take Sex Offenders very seriously, they will keep repeating their nasty, sick molesting, rape, or whatever on innocent children…until they are stopped!!!

Obviously, I don’t know how you raise your child, so I would never presume that you are overprotective. However, I think parents who tend toward smothering their child should consider the realistic risk of victimization and develop reasonable preventative measures.

As this story illustrates, as well as others like the toddler who got snatched just feet away from parents at a family picnic, you cannot 100% protect your child short of literally holding their hand for every second of every day until they’re 18. That’s not reasonable. So, what is? Obviously, everyone will have their own opinion. In my opinion, it is unreasonable (and fairly unrealistic) to not allow your child out of your sight, ever.

But aside from all that, my question is – Why did this kid not go to her sister after the first time she was touched? Had this family not had the “talk”? I know she was only six, but really, it’s never too early.
