Andrew Sheppard Killed By Mother’s Penis
Okay, what is it with the damned babykillers this week? I have had just about enough of these walking penii and their “oops, my girlfriend’s child magically died while she was gone” stories. But they just keep showing up, y’know? So here I am once again, posting about a sweet baby boy who, thanks to Mommy’s penis, is dead.
Ocala, FL - Andrew Sheppard was eighteen months old when he died on Friday evening.  His killer? Mommy’s boyfriend, Gianni Spagnolo, 34.  Spagnolo, who is unemployed and living with friends, often cared for Andrew while his mother, Kari Sheppard, was working.    Sheppard left Andrew with Spagnolo overnight on Tuesday and all day Wednesday. By Wednesday night, her son was gravely injured. By Friday night, he was dead.
Kari Sheppard says that Spagnolo called her at work early on Wednesday afternoon. He told her that Andrew had “fallen out of bed”, but was fine. Sheppard called Spagnolo again as she was on her way to pick up Andrew after work, and he told her that Andrew was “tired” and had taken two naps that day rather than one. When Sheppard arrived at about 6:00 p.m., Andrew wouldn’t wake up. Sheppard grabbed her son and drove him to the emergency room.
At the ER, doctors ordered a CAT scan, which showed bleeding in Andrew’s head and a possible brain shift, which is a very traumatic injury. The doctors also found bruises and abrasions of varying ages on the toddler.  Some were new, but some appeared older.  Andrew’s injuries included bruising on the left cheek, forehead and left side of his head, and what appeared to be a belt mark on his thighs.  Given the severity of Andrew’s injuries, he was airlifted to a larger hospital in Gainesville, Florida, for intensive care.
Spagnolo’s first story was that Andrew must have fallen out of bed overnight on Tuesday. He told police that he and Andrew shared the bed, and Andrew woke him up with a thump during the night. A cart was pushed away from the bed, and Andrew had a big lump, so Spagnolo iced the bump and the baby went back to sleep, getting worse over Wednesday. But that story fell apart based on Andrew’s injuries, so Spagnolo went back to the police on Thursday night with a new one.
The Thursday night version of Spagnolo’s “How I Killed The Baby” story went thusly: On Wednesday between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m., he was kneeling on the bed and throwing Andrew up in the air, using more force and velocity each time. Just for funsies, you understand. Spagnolo said that one throw was so hard that Andrew’s head hit the ceiling. As the baby fell, his head struck the end of a wooden table and then the concrete floor. Spagnolo said that after the fall, Andrew “clenched his teeth and was unresponsiveâ€, but it didn’t occur to him to seek medical treatment.  Yeah, I call shenanigans on that one, too. Given this baby’s injuries, it’s looking like blunt force pissed off trauma to me.
Mothers: DO NOT LET YOUR BOYFRIEND BABYSIT YOUR INFANTS. This goes double if your man is unemployed. How hard is this to understand? Andrew had a father, grandparents, cousins, even. Why leave him with the penis? And excuse my blatant sexism, here, but MEN DO NOT LIKE BABYSITTING SMALL CHILDREN. They will say they do, because you put out when you are home. But unless it’s their child, they’re gonna be resentful of some other dick’s squalling kid. And if you leave them alone with said kid long enough, chances are, your new penis is gonna lose his temper.  Especially if he’s stressed already from being unemployed and living in his friends’ garage. I mean, at what point did this really seem like the best child care alternative?
I know, I know. he’s your man. You love him. You looooooove him. He would never hurt you or your baby. Women, wake up.  Don’t do it. Your man will thank you. Your baby will thank you. You will be more broke from paying for child care, but at least you will have a child. I bet Kari Sheppard wishes she’d never left her baby with her man.
In the hospital at Gainesville, doctors found that baby Andrew had a brain stem injury - the worst kind of brain injury, since it is virtually always fatal. He had hemorrhaged into his retinas, the brain bleed was so bad. By Friday evening, the baby boy was dead.
Gianni Spagnolo was originally charged on Thursday night with aggravated child abuse with great bodily harm. Those charges are expected to be elevated now that Andrew has died. Spagnolo is being held without bond in the Citrus County Detention Center.
Take a look at who the people are that are reporting this “abuse.” What about the people that actually KNOW this child and his family?! Don’t you think if this were the case more people would be speaking up? Especially this child’s mother and father. I guess both his mother AND father along with the boyfriend must have something seriously wrong with them because guess what? even THEY (in the midst of all this sorrow) are standing behind Gianni.
I believe you’re the one needing a wake up call.
He was -playing- with the child. If you haven’t heard of anyone ever tossing a child in the air to play with him/her then obviously you and the people you know don’t play with kids much. If this is the case, perhaps you should turn your pointed fingers towards them with allegations of abuse.
Accidents happen and sometimes the worst occurs as a result. NO ONE ever wanted harm to come to this child. A child is much more fragile than an adult and this is a tragedy that never should have happened, but you know what? It did. If a child is running through the house (being a kid of course), slips and falls and ends up hitting something the wrong way and dies, does that make their parents murderers?!
You really need to find yourself some intelligence.
He loved this child just like he loved his own. Baby killers are scum. Gianni Spagnolo is NOT. He is a loving, concerned, wonderful -parent- with a wonderful family who has lost a child who meant the world to him. Now is that really someone that deserves the label of babykiller?

Doesn’t matter how great someone is before he kills a child. Once he kills a child, he’s a babykiller. Forever. That one moment - the moment a person steals the life of a child - through stupidity, by accident, through lost temper or on purpose, that child no longer gets a life. That child no longer gets to grow up to be a good person. And the person who stole that life is, quite frankly, not deserving to continue his or her own.
So yeah. He’s a babykiller. And apparently an idiot, if your description of the event holds water. Who throws a baby hard enough to hit the ceiling with the baby when the floor below is CONCRETE? An idiot. And a babykiller, that’s who.
Oh, and who left the belt-shaped bruises on Andrews’ thighs? The spanking fairy?

Spagnolo didn’t call 911. He didn’t even tell Kari what happened at first. Hell, he didn’t come clean with the police until Andrew’s injuries didn’t line up with his first story.
Smacks of cognizance of guilt to me. Damned babykillers and their blind defenders. This dude must have been awesome in the sack or something for anyone to look at this evidence and go “oh, but he’s such a GOOD person!”
The mother says she and her husband (they’re separated) “both believe it was a horrible accident,” even though they haven’t read the police report. “”We’ve both forgiven Gianni for what he’s done, and for what happened.”

Andrew was apparently “sleeping” when she arrived, and she didn’t try to wake him until sometime later. I have my theories about what was going on in the meantime, but I don’t really think Kari knew her baby was gravely injured at the time.

You should have come here and gave a voice to the baby who this baby killer killed. His life was short wasn’t it? His mother will never see his first day of school, see him graduate from high school and/or college, she will never see him date or get married. She will never have the chance to meet the grandchildren that one day he may have provided to her. She will never ever have the chance again to tell him how much she loved him. XKarmaAndChaosX - Fact: If it was, indeed, an accident like you suggest, this man is a moron of unfathomable proportions for not seeking medical help immediately. That’s the best case scenario. More probable? You and Andrew’s parents are wrong and he simply didn’t care enough about the child to seek help for it. No one who is decent and intelligent fails to recognize and address clenched teeth and unresponsiveness.
P.S. I’ve tossed babies of a variety of ages into the air hundreds of times. In fact, it’s my favorite thing to do with them in terms of playing. Never have I tossed one high enough for it to hit its head (and I’m 5′10″, so that wouldn’t be hard), nor have I dropped one. Do you chalk this up to luck?

I meant to address this. This is going to sound particularly insensitive, but the above statement is no defense. If what you say is correct and this guy is just an idiot, odds are, the mother and father sympathize. You see, an individual’s social circle tends to reflect their general level of intelligence. Smart people tend to date and befriend other smart people. If the babykiller was simply too dumb to know that how he reacted to the child’s injury was grossly negligent, then, odds are, his girlfriend is that dumb, too. If the girlfriend is that dumb, chances are, the man she spawned with was that dumb.
People too dumb to know how to care for kids don’t catch much of a break around here.
Because, I’ll tell you - if my little sister, the person I care more about than life itself, tossed my child into the air so recklessly, watched as its head crash against the furniture and floor, clench its jaw and become unresponsive, only to not seek medical attention, all of which resulted in my child’s death…She would be disowned.

This is an entirely different scenario than what happened. This child was not playing by himself, and accidentally hurt himself and died. This child was thrown, with enough force to bounce his head off of a ceiling, and then he failed to catch the child (because of the sheer velocity?) on the way down, causing the child to slam his head into a table before striking the concrete floor. Are you telling me that this guy has no culpability in this situation? Do you really believe that none of the responsibility for this child’s death rests with this idiot? If that is what you believe, then you are just as fucked up as he is!
Let me enlighten you on a few points. You do not have to intentionally harm a person for it to be considered murder. If you are doing something which you know might cause harm or injury, especially if you are doing it in a reckless manner - then you are responsible for that person’s death. Many a person has been charged with homicide simply because they were driving recklessly, and killed someone. Gianni showed the same reckless disregard for Andrew’s life. And even if you want to claim that the way he was playing was not reckless (but it was), the fact that he failed to get medical attention for that child shows reckless disregard for life in and of itself.
Get a fucking life, and see this situation for what it really is. This asswipe murdered Andrew, and is now trying every option he can think of to get out from under the microscope. And enablers like you are the reason he keeps it up. You are just as sick as he is if you think that his actions were in no way dangerous.

Umm, when I was a baby my dad played the game where he threw me up and caught me, but never did he throw me as high as the CEILING just to let me come crashing down to a concrete floor. He threw me about, hmm I don’t know, an inch. I don’t know, I guess I’m lucky like that.

I also found this interesting archived article from a small “hometown” paper that almost looks like it came from the police department. Gives even MORE details than I’ve read before such as: 1. he called a detective to arrange to turn himself in; and this 2. “Spagnolo demonstrated to the detective how the incident had happened. He explained that he is the boyfriend of the boy’s mother, and that he had not been truthful with her or law enforcement personnel investigating the incident, however, the report did not state what Spagnolo had told them. While in the interview room, Spagnolo called the boy’s mother and explained to her that he’d injured the child. Spagnolo told the officer that he could not have held this in any longer and that he owed it to the child to tell the truth about what had happened.”
