New Castle, PA - It happened on April 12 between 2:00 and 2:45 p.m. Loraine Peters had just left for work. Watching her two sons was her fiance’, Mark Strickler. Less than an hour after Loraine had left, Strickler, 22, called for help. Michael Peters, 18 months, wasn’t breathing. He’d left him in the bathtub for a few seconds, Strickler said. He wouldn’t wake up. Something was wrong.
Something was wrong, all right. Strickler told police that Michael was sleeping in his bedroom when his mother left for work. After Michael woke up, Strickler said he decided to give the toddler a bath. During the bath, the phone rang and Strickler left Michael alone “for a few seconds”. Strickler insisted he got back, and baby Michael was under the water, not breathing.
Michael Peterson was in the tub all right, but he wasn’t wet. The assistant fire chief who responded to the scene found baby Michael in the bathtub naked and dry, covered with bruises. Michael was bruised on the right side of his face from the forehead to the chin, the left wrist, trunk, abdomen, back and genital area and scrapes were seen on the right shoulder. The genital bruising was severe, the frie chief said, and it looked like a door had been slammed on Michael’s fingers. The fire chief called in police and transported the baby to the hospital.
Little Michael never woke up. After eleven days ina coma - the last week on a ventilator - Michael Peters died on Tuesday. Doctors diagnosed him with a traumatic brain injury and non-accidental trauma. Simply put, Mark Strickler beat that baby to death.
Loraine Peters is a devout Christian according to her Myspace, a young mother who is pregnant with Mark Strickler’s baby. She is due in October and before this, was planning her wedding. It does not appear that she had any reason to think Strickler would hurt her son. Her older son, Brian, 4, was not hurt.
Mark Strickler’s Myspace doesn’t really give us a clue that he would be dangerous. Redneck, perhaps, but not dangerous. He talks of the miracle of Loraine’s pregnancy. He seems excited about being a father. People who know him say this isn’t like him at all. So what happened? Did he snap at a toileting accident? Flip out over a wet bed? Did the lion-instinct of killing another man’s young just take over? I’ve no idea. All I know is a beautiful little boy is gone, and Mark Strickler killed him. In light of that, the whys don’t seem to matter that much.
Mark Strickler is being held without bail in the Lawrence County Jail. He is charged with homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and child endangerment. Prosecutors have not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty.

Like Hippie asked, what would push anyone that far that quick? Poor, beautiful baby boy. Thank the Lord, the fat asshat didn’t harm the 4 year old. It actually could have been worse.

One year olds are hard because their ability to comprehend is just not there, but they really are the cutest darn things. Everything is so new to them, it really is a special time.
If I was the Mother, I would kill this fug douche and then take my chances in court. I wouldn’t need to beat the shite out of him or something extremely violent like that. I would act like I bought his story and then poison his lard ass with a smile on my face.

My first swing would be at his balls, as would my second, third and fourth - or as many as it took to produce the same amount of bruising on his genitals as he had put on that baby. Then I’d beat him until he stopped breathing. Then, I would sit beside him for a couple of hours, until he started getting cold, and rigor set in, just to make damn certain he couldn’t be resuscitated.
Poisoning would get your ass locked up for sure, because that takes planning. Beating him to death with a handy object would be seen more as a crime of passion, and would be more likely to get you an acquittal - after all, you just snapped, right?

I feel sorry for the other children in this case-the four year old and especially the baby to be as he or she will have grow up with the knowledge that his or her father is nothing more than a child murdering sack of shit. Wonder what the mother must be going through given this fucked up situation-pregnant by the guy that killed her baby. I just hope that she has some kind of support. I too would want to kill this piece of shit the first chance I got if I were her but that’s just me talking.
Excited about being a father? Blech. He certainly showed “wonderful” parenting skills, sad to say he’d probably be a pro with his own kid.

Only, due to the fact, not every person that was involved with this child, at the time his injuries were sustained, have been accounted for, as far as, their whereabouts and actions. Let me state clearly, I have not decided his guilt but also do not scream he is innocent. There are so many questions that need to be answered before deciding anyone’s fate.
With that being said, McD has defended him with the old “he wouldn’t have, because I know him” and other such garb and at no point has she offered any evidence, provided any links, or offered up anything except basically “you have to believe me because I said it”.
McD is not the murderer. I was stating that I hoped McD didn’t know this Mark POS, because I did not want to have to hear the same old bullshit and useless arguements for the Mark in this story as I have heard in Tyson’s story.
