NORWALK, CT - Kristin Cates,18, (MyspaceMySpaceMySpace) had recently broken up with her boyfriend, Eric Niles, 19 (Myspace). Things must not have gone too well with this breakup, as Kristin obtained a protective order against him. On Sunday, EricEric reviewsEric reviews went to the home of Kristin and found her in bed with 20-year-old Blake Mishou. Niles murdered him. He then abducted Kristin and fled in a truck he had stolen from his grandfather.

The truck was spotted on I-94 in Connecticut and eventually a short pursuit ensued in which Kristin was driving. As Connecticut troopers surrounded the vehicle once it stopped, Eric shot himself in the head. Cates was not injured and will not face any charges. Niles died from his injuries on Monday.

Niles has been in trouble with the police before and was arrested for assault in March, and arrested a second time in April for violating his bail conditions. I didn’t find much out about Blake aside from the fact that he worked for his parent’s heating business. I would have liked to got either a Myspace page for him or a better pic than the one I found on a news site. If any friends of these three find this page, feel free to fill in any details.

That is so young to be that damn serious about someone. most guys that age are trying to get as many girls as possible. It really is a shame. And the girl will have to live the rest of her life knowing TWO men died because they were pursuing her affections. Even though its not her fault, she’ll be haunted forever.

Kids, save the serious relationships for when getting drunk, partying and having unlimited sex gets old and boring to you. Trust me. Its better that way.

as horrible as this story is, at least he didn’t take the girl out, too. instead, she just gets to be horribly scarred for the rest of her life.

    what a wonderful guy!

That poor girl. I hope she has a really good support system to help her through this nightmare. She is going to need some serious counseling. How will she ever be able to trust a guy again? My thoughts and prayers are with all 3 families.

Eh, I encourage serious relationships. Sociopathy, on the other hand…Not so much.

I knew a couple girls in high school or soon after dating possessive guys. Scary shit.

Ladies, possessiveness and jealousy aren’t cute. I know it’s nice to feel wanted, but if you encourage that behavior and stick around, this could be you. Walk away at the first red flag of this nature.

I commend Eric’s decision to remove his defective genes from the community pool, but it’s too bad he didn’t just shoot himself in the head before taking out an innocent guy. That also would have saved the taxpayers all of that money which was spent on the gas used in the police cars involved in the chase. That shit is getting outrageous these days! $3.50 per gallon……

    $3.50 a gallon? I’m paying $1.45 per litre! (over 3 1/2 litres to a gallon)

I agree with Angel’s reasoning, though – Eric should have killed himself first – then the other guy (very Irish logic, I know, but it works for me). Would have saved a lot of anguish and suffering and petrol.

Hey, if you’ve got the money, Europe’s where it’s at. I adore Seattle and doubt I’ll ever move, but if I had the dough, I’d totally have a summer home in Europe. Where, though, I’m not sure. It’s a toss up between Dublin and somewhere along the Dalmatian coast.

It’s sad. I’ll probably never get to visit Europe. I’ve always wanted to, but never had the money and now it seems that prices have gotten so high there that my dream has become a fantasy.

The only way I’ll ever go to Europe is if my hubby is stationed there at some point. That’s not really likely though, so I’m not gonna hold my breath. And with gas prices that high over there, I would likely not even be able to afford the gas to go off-base anyway…

Shit!! $3.95 in So Cal. Damn. I would love to pay $3.50. Did I just say that??

I have to agree with Kathy – That possessive, jealous shit is not good. Been there… Done that…

Ckirish87 — That is so sad. Poor guy. It’s great that you all are trying to create that park in his memory. Best of luck with it. He was lucky to have such friends.

Thanks, Ckirish87! I’m so glad to hear Kristin has friends to help her in what must be a devastating situation for all of you. What you described for us really adds to the tragedy. Again, thank you for the insight.
