Corey DeHart Taught Sex Ed

Created on April 18th, 2008 by impqueen now with 1,134 views

UPDATE 11/18/08 - Charges against Corey DeHart were dropped yesterday when the prosecution said that their case “evaporated” when their third-party witness testimony fell through due to “memory lapses”.  Prosecutor John Gill said that the state had “sufficient evidence to file charges”, but did not feel he could win a conviction at trial.  Gill chose to drop the charges with an option to reopen should new evidence be presented.  DeHart says he feels “vindicated”; his alleged female victim says she feels “robbed”.  A decision on whether DeHart will return to his high school teaching post has not yet been made.

Corey DeHart, Dreamin' Demon

Knoxville, TN - Halls High School paid Corey DeHart to teach math, but he was willing to put in the overtime on sex education for free.  DeHart, 43, was indicted Tuesday on multiple sex offenses involving a minor female student.   That may or may not be reason enough to remove his teaching license, though, since he is also certified in biology.

DeHart is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student of his for most of last spring’s semester.   DeHart was put on paid leave after the student came forward in September 19 of last year.  In December, school officials changed DeHart’s leave to unpaid suspension but made no explanation in his file.  As of Thursday, the teacher’s status remained “on suspension”.  even the Tennessee state board has not revoked DeHart’s teaching license, but has simply “flagged” it. Apparently you can get indicted in Tennessee and still not get fired for fucking your minor students.   Good to know!

The grand jury didn’t think DeHart was quite so harmless.  On Tuesday, they handed down six counts of “multiple sex acts”.  Corey DeHart was charged with statutory rape and sexual battery by an authority figure.  He’s free on $50,000 bond.

My first thought was “I wonder whatever happened to his music career? I always liked that Sunglasses At Night song.”

Corey Hart, Kenny Rogers… could they be the same dude? Holy cats.

That looks nothing like Kenny Rogers. Kenny is much better looking! (I fell in love with Kenny when I was about 12) And Kenny Rogers’ eyebrows are white, like his hair. What does this idiot do….dye his eyebrows? That just looks strange.

Are you sure you’re not talking about Kenny Loggins, Imp? Kenny Rogers is/was a country singer, and the only “Sunglasses at Night” song I ever heard of was an 80s pop/rock song. Kenny Rogers is best known for the song “The Gambler”, although he had many other top ten hits as well (on the country charts).

Cory needs to spend a little time in jail and be taught sex ed by a few of the inmates. Or all of them.

Ok. When I was in High School, I was as shallow as they got - and I totally had no right to be.

What high school student in their right mind would fuck this old man? Were they in special ed? Blind? Bound and duct taped?

    Blech!

The really really scary thing… I was just onsite at a clients house, and the dude looked like this guy. It was creepy.

Does anyone else notice that this guy has a strangely hip, almost emo haircut? Seriously, you could slap that head of hair on a Fall Out Boy and they’d look totally normal. That’s odd. Still, it’s hard to believe that dude’s 43. I’ve met some pretty fucking hot 43 year olds. That dude looks 55.

I have never really thought a school teacher was hot, even when I was in school. Guess it’s that “I hate Authority” streak I had. But I do know some teachers that strive to keep up with “fashion” to help keep the kids to pay attention to them.

Why do all the middle-aged men who have hair turn out to be perverts? And we normal women get left with the baldies, rubbing their pates, and lying that we don’t care that they look like a pink melon butt.

Besdies that — Imp, note that Tennessee does have hillbillies. So I guess we’ll have to take the hit on this one. Although perhaps he is “not from here” and a foreigner from, say, Ohio.

When I was in middle school, there were two wickedly hot teachers. One female, a math teacher by the name of Ms. Hale. Petit and blonde with a very “girl next door” look about her…then there was the fact that she taught a hard science. Sexy. Then, there was Mr. Lerwick. A 24 year old gym teacher who was straight out of the military. About 6′2″, solidly built with a very casual demeanor…Yep, plenty of girls would have gladly dealt with his “battery”.

But Athena, he didn’t look like the above person. Nor did he accept those “Come on” looks you young ladies were throwing.

No, no he definitely did not. And, for the record, I wasn’t throwing any looks. I didn’t have to. I was his clear favorite and received plenty of attention. It’s because I was a basketball player, though.

Corey should have paid closer attention to the technical terms associated with his classroom curriculum.

Corey, dumbass, the book said SUM not CUM! Or did you think you were giving a lesson on banking procedures and the math associated with them, and misunderstand the term ‘penalty for early withdrawal’?

This guy taught me physics my junior year of high school. He was a great guy and doesn’t deserve this mistreatment. The girl that accused him told her friends she was lying (or so I heard - for all I know, that’s how this thing got started… rumors). Stupid teen-whores at Halls always cause trouble like this - During my high school career, the two single most beloved teachers were both (wrongly) accused of sexual misconduct or whatever it’s called.

On a lighter note, I’d never noticed the kenny rogers thing. Funny!

Okay. I see the charges were dropped but that doesn’t mean nothing happened. And wtf is your problem. Get over it. The news just came out that the charges were dropped. Once impqueen sees that the charges were dropped, she’ll edit the story.

People do not get indicted on multiple counts of statutory rape and sexual battery over rumors. Sounds like you are listening to rumors, though (”or so I heard”). Statutory rape is rape by statute; it wouldn’t mean he actually “raped” her in the classic sens.

They sure don’t. Of course, if their case was so flimsy it completely collapsed due to the loss of a single third party witness, I certainly have to wonder about the worthiness of the charges.

Oh well. I’m bitter- sue me. Dehart was a great teacher, and I wanted at least one person to come to his defense on this site. I’m glad its all over with.. and for those who aren’t satisfied, you’ll get another chance soon enough… traditionally this happens every other school year at halls.
