Mike Burgess Ain’t Sheriff No More
Arapaho, OK - Custer County Sheriff Mike Burgess thought he had a good thing going. In his jail, he had the female inmates vying for special treatment in the Sheriff Mike’s Sex Slave Playground, complete with wet t-shirt contests, blowjobs, and full-on intercourse, consent not required. Oh, sure, Burgess had to bribe people a time or two, or threaten to send a girl to prison if she didn’t comply, but what the hell, right? They were just inmates. At least, that’s what Sheriff Burgess thought.
But, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. On Wednesday, Sheriff Mike Burgess resigned from his job just as federal prosecutors filed 35 felony counts against him. Burgess had been sheriff of Custer County since 1994. Wednesday afternoon, Burgess was arraigned on 14 counts of second-degree rape, seven counts of forcible oral sodomy and five counts of bribery by a public official.
Burgess allegedly had sex with a female inmate who was in his custody on drug charges. Those crimes allegedly occurred between October 2005 and April 2007. A federal lawsuit filed in October states that Burgess told one female victim that he would have her sent to prison if she didn’t put out. That lawsuit, filed by 12 former jail prisoners, also alleges that jail employees had the women engage in wet T-shirt contests. Tit-flashing earned cigarettes, and at least one woman says that a sex act got her a job as a trusty in the jail - a job she lost after she said “no†to subsequent requests.
In addition to the above charges, Burgess is also being hit with two counts each of sexual battery, rape by instrumentation and subornation of perjury; and one count each of engaging in a pattern of criminal offenses, indecent exposure and kidnapping. Burgess could be sentenced to 467 years in prison if convicted on all 35 counts.
Wow. With all those charges and that much time, makes one wonder whose slave he’s gonna be. At least he knows how the operation works, now. Burgess turned himself in to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents and was released from custody after posting $50,000 bail.
As if we needed further evidence of the fact that women are still horribly oppressed and abused within our American culture.
Anyone who asks why we need feminism in America should be referenced to this case.

I am betting that as long as he happily resigns and plays by the rules and protects the right folks that there will be No way he will get all those charges when it comes down to it. Someone will let him plead out to the lesser crimes and he will get some bullshit probation community service maybe a bit of house arrest tossed in for good looks

I haven’t seen anything indicating a suicide or even a suicide attempt. What I have seen is that Joy Leigh Mason, a former inmate, has drawn investigators an accurate sketch of the inside of Burgess’ home, where she said some of the sex encounters took place.
I bet Mrs. Burgess, if there is one, is not a happy camper right now.

I know him. Have known him for years. If he did all they are accusing him of he should be punished; however, this man has 2 kids and several grandkids. They are the ones that are hurting right now, along with his mother and wife. If he did do all these things it’s a shame and a very selfish act on his part because he was only thinking of selfgratification, and not his family. And, by the way, he’s a Democrat, not that that matters! He and his family need prayers right now,, he will get his just reward either here on earth or at the Pearly Gates. Mom, I agree, no one MADE him do these things. He has a HUGE ego, and loves power … has been that way for years, but as a Christian, sin is sin …. no gray areas …. if we lie, cheat, gossip, murder, it’s sin, and God will be our final judge. I’m certainly upset that this has happened because, as I said before, the kids, his mom and his wife! Those that think he should just commit suicide makes me ill!!!! Burgess WILL stand trial on multiple felony counts that accuse him of demanding sexual favors from female offenders in exchange for his help in a drug court program–today a judge found there was enough evidence to bring him to trial on rape, rape by instrumentation, kidnapping, sexual battery, and oral sodomy charges.
Burgess was ordered to return to court on Aug. 25 and appear before his as-yet unnamed trial judge but remains free on bond.
