Sherry Ambolino: Alcoholic Babysitter

Richland Township, PA - Sherry Ambolino, 41, must start hitting the bottle early, because by 9:30 Monday morning, she was tanked. Which might not have been a problem except that her child’s school called to tell Ambolino that her daughter was sick. So she loaded up the minivan with the four kids she was babysitting that day, including an infant, and drove on over to Richland Elementary to pick up her kid.
Now, I don’t know what Ambolino was drinking, but she was reeking of alcohol and “blowing liquor all over everybody”, according to police.  School staff delayed Ambolino and called police, who arrived to find a very drunk parent, a sick kid, and the four Ambolino was babysitting. Ambolino was given a field sobriety test at scene and scored an epic fail.
This isn’t Ambolino’s first DUI, either. She ran the minivan (yep, same one) into a stop sign in nearby Quakertown on February 29. Police say she was drunk that day as well.  Naturally, a man who spoke to reporters from Ambolino’s home says that “you don’t know her or what she’s going through”. Well, okay.  I guess that’s way more important than what Ambolino’s child is going through now that everyone at school knows her mom’s a drunk. Way to straighten out those priorities and enable the addict, dude.
Sherry Ambolino has been charged with DUI (again). Police say that child endangerment charges may be forthcoming. I hope so. This woman needs rehab stat and no driver’s license maybe ever. Plus that mugshot is awesome considering it was taken before noon.

I jumped in my chair when the picture uploaded – fuck she is hideous, with jowl-town just a few years away. And an alcho called Sherry? Just poifect, nyuck-nyuck, except for the fragile little lives she was precariously gambling, in her drunk-drive sojourn to emancipate her sick kid from sober teachers.
I do know her and what she’s going through – about 4 bottles of vermouth a day while reminiscing about her fleeting popularity in high school, so long ago the memories are sepia-toned. Poor Shezza – where did it all go wrong, pumpkin?

Do the parents of the kids she had in her van know that she endangered their little angels? If anyone ever put one of my kids in the car and drove drunk with them, they better HOPE they COULDN’T make bail. Because once they left the state run facilities, I’d be all over that person, like stink on shit. Protective custody would be the only way to keep the bitch alive long enough to stand trial.
As far as I’m concerned, DUI should be charged as attempted murder. You know the potential to kill or maim is there, but you do it anyway. What a stupid fucking bitch!

story sounds like my ex-employee. had been bagged for her 2nd DUI & showed up for work at 8:30 in the morning to drunk to be at all coherent. we fired her on the spot. she was sentenced to 10 days in jail, 3yrs of no licence & something else. she only 26 but in both cases, stupid, stupid bitches!

You all make me sick. Not that I condone what Sherry did, but she is a very nice person and is going through some very hard times. Someone should take a look at her ex-husband and his antics. But since none of you appear to have a life and are only looking at the outside appearances, I won’t even bother to go into it!! I didn’t say it excused her behavior, and I did say I in no way condoned her behavior and no I’m not going to tell the details, her real friends know and are concerned for her welfare and that of her children even if she is not in any condition to care for herself. She is getting help and hopefully won’t read these nasty comments that others are making. Do people really think that ignorant words can help someone with an illness heal?!!!

Who’s trying to heal her? I’m tying to use her as an example to all of the other drunk dumbshits out there that may be thinking about something stupid like this.
I’ll leave the healing to her “real” friends. Though I would think her “real” friends would never have let her put all those children in harms way to begin with. What time in the morning do you have to start drinking to reek of alcohol by 9:30? Say she starts at 7:00, when the last parent drops off a kid, but well before her child gets on the school bus. Yep, that’s awesome parenting right there. Then, instead of telling the school “I’m so sorry, my car is broken or or or (insert lie here), let me call someone to come get her” and SOBERING UP, she risks the very lives of her own child, plus four others, by driving to get her sick kid.
Nope, I really don’t care what she was going through. The February DUI should have been a wake-up call, but nope, she’s gonna start drinking for breakfast rather than getting herself some help. No sympathy here.
And i hope she DOES read here and it hurts like a bitch, because hitting bottom may be what it takes to wake her ass up and make her get help so she can effectively parent her child. She sure as hell can’t do it right now.

Unless the fact that she’s “going through things” EXCUSES the fact that she endangered the lives of several children, our comments aren’t ignorant at all. Because, at the end of the day, no circumstance justifies her recklessness.
And I can’t fucking stand when people use the fact that the accused is “nice” as some sort of defense. Being nice isn’t a skill. As many here know I like to party a bit. I like to get happy on the weekend and don’t see alcohol as a morality issue. That said I will never drink and drive, put any kids in danger and not start drinking at 7 am.
That’s not a party it’s fucking sad. Stupid bitch, thank god everyone is okay. If I was one of those kids mom I would kick her ass like a cheerleader.
