Search On For Veronica Ford’s Killer

Florida - After visiting a local McDonald’s, Veronica Ford, 4, and her mother, Benita Desir, 20, stepped out from a county shuttle bus to cross the street. At the same time, a silver Dodge Magnum that was behind the bus, entered the opposite lane of traffic to pass it and struck Veronica. The driver kept going. Veronica was pronounced dead at Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.

Police are now looking for that car and the driver. The driver was described as a black male with dreadlocks pulled back into a ponytail. The car was silver, has a temporary tag, chrome rims and front-end damage.
Since the accident, dozens of strangers and friends have stopped by the Desir home to offer condolences, some of them leaving teddy bears, religious candles, flowers and foil balloons on the lawn. Neighbors have also been raising money for her funeral.
