In reading the MS profile of the baby’s dad Robert it says he is no longer with the mother because he fucked up & that he was in jail for 5 years. I wonder if the Mom or Dad could have abused the baby? The baby does have bruises or marks 1 week before he was babysat by these two.

Looking at all the pics of Tyson’s daughter she is smiling & looks happy. I didn’t see any bruises. It’s completely possible that he did kill that baby but it just seems like we are missing a piece to the puzzle.

No matter what this is such a sad ending. My son was born July 20th so it really hits home. I can’t imagine anyone hurting such an innocent baby.

I think we don’t know all the information about this case. I think we should be looking at the parents. Things don’t add up. I pray for everyone involved in this.

I agree with nurseronda and mommyto3 and enb01. This doesn’t add up. Mom and dad were fighting, baby got hurt, left the baby at home where he lived and Tyson paid for it. After all he did say he thought it drown, don’t you think he would have come up with a better excuse, like geez I must have accidentally dropped him? Why aren’t the parents all over the news for the suffering they are feeling? Let’s see how this unfolds. I feel for all involved, but especially the pain that baby went through.

I wasn’t there that night, but the mother and her whole family have been friends of mine for years. Yes, the baby’s father does have a history of violence, that’s not a secret. But Heather had made choices to get away from him. She became a mother and decided to stop taking the abuse. The biggest part of that, I got the feeling, was for her son. She continued to have contact with him because they share a baby. If the baby had had HAIR RIPPED FROM HIS SCALP during a fight between dad and mom, wouldn’t that have been the first thing the babysitter told the police about? Not a bullshit story about a bath? I know abuse can be very hard to uncover from parents, but this baby spent a lot of time with all of mine and Heather’s friends, they are competent, caring, trustworthy women, who would not have hesitsted to call the police themselves if they had even SUSPECTED abuse. There was nothing they saw that gave them that impression. I made it a point to never know the father, I can’t comment on him. Heather loved and wanted her son. And he was an absolute light in everyone’s life.

Tyson Chamberlain is a close friend of mine. I have known him for 15 years and grew up racing motorcycles with him. Tyson and his sister Tasha are both people that I hold close to my heart, and have a deep respect for both of them because their have persevered through some life circumstances that would make most people crumble. He even has the word “Perseverance” tatted on his chest.

Tyson has always been a role model for me. Anyone that knows Tyson will attest to his character. He has the biggest heart, works hard for everything he has and will give you the shirt off his back. Many times in my life, Tyson has put my friends and I in check, and still remains an enormous inspiration every single person that knows him to this day. The guy is the definition of responsibility and moral fiber. It breaks my heart to see his picture on these websites, which shows him totally vulnerable to media scrutiny and the erroneous, ridiculous and judgemental comments made by most of the people on these message boards. I am here to speak on his behalf, based on the knowledge that I know regarding Tyson Chamberlain. Unlike the majority of the people that are here for entertainment purposes.

The media paints this picture of him that you all are influenced by. What does that fact that Tyson only having a few friends on his myspace page have to do with anything? What significance does the “lingerie shots” of Chalice have? It has nothing to do with anything! Just to influence you all to call a stand up guy in a shitty situation a “baby killer”. That’s bullshit. And even if you wanted to go that route with the whole myspace thing, look at the abundance of pictures on Tyson, Tasha and Chalice’s pages and you will see that nearly every one of them has Tyson’s daughter in them. Look how happy she is. Are there any signs of distress in any of these pictures? Absolutely not. Baby killer?? Fucking bullshit.

I don’t know the whole physiological scenarios that have to do with babies not showing swelling or bruising for an extended period of time and I don’t have to. I know that my heart hurts for my friend tonight because I know he is not capable of these things that he is accused of. I think that there is alot more to this story. In the video it sounds like they (mom and dad) left together. If they were fighting that night (so badly that there was blood) then way would she leave with him and leave the baby with a babysitter? That just doesn’t make sense.

I’m so sorry that you are involved. I wouldn’t want to think my friend could be involved in this either so I hope she is innocent, but to me it doesn’t look that way.

What concerns me is Tyson telling the police he thought the baby drowned. When other parents walk away from a tub and a baby slides underwater, we castigate the hell out of that parent. Why wasn’t Tyson watching that child who he had placed in the tub? And returning from wherever to see a child underwater, why would your first response be to pull him out by his hair? That’s just weird. This baby did not drown – there was not water in his lungs. The drowning story doesn’t wash, and even if it did, that’s some crappy babysitting and death by neglect if not by abuse.

There are a lot of unanswered questions, but since Easton was living in Tyson’s home, he could have been hit in the face by any number of people the week before, or he could have been pulling up to stand and fallen.. I don’t know. I just know he had bruises the week before. And last week, his mom went out for the night, and when she got back, her baby was dead. Somebody killed Easton either accidentally or intentionally, and Tyson’s story doesn’t add up.

I have never had to read about a friend of mine being accused of killing a baby and if I did I don’t think this is the place I would want to visit to be honest lol. I am sure you have noticed that nobody holds back at this site when it comes to those who rape, molest and kill babies…..myself included. Not gonna happen. People are simply discussing the case, and this man, with the facts they have. As more facts are revealed, people will change their opinions. Whether that means these people will be the ones currently condemning him, or the ones defending him remains to be seen.

But we have many stories posted here have had commentors retractchange their earlier statements after more information was revealed, I have yet to see a friend or family member, who was defending an accused, do the same.

Also note, I cannot recall any instance on this site, where a person was accused of this type of crime, who was proven innocent. That probably explains why you have seen the “rush to judgment” you mentioned earlier, and will continue to see it with the other child abuse stories that will eventually bury this one over the next month.

Maybe they really do know that Chamberlain is innocent, and are trotting out this arrest story in order to keep him in protective custody until they can arrest the father. It’s been known to happen if a particularly violent person is suspected, but there is not enough evidence to charge him with; usually it is done to keep the violent suspect from fleeing, by making him feel ‘safe’ because an arrest has already been made. And the father of Easton WAS known to be violent.

To Unamused Cat and Imp, who made a similar query: It is entirely possible that this is the case. The account never said he left the room, only ‘reached for a towel’, I thought. If he turned his back for a second, and turned back to get the baby, and the baby was underwater, he might have grabbed for the nearest handle to the surface (which would be the hair, since it is lightest, and floats) – I DID. Yes, I said, “I did!”

Last year, I was at a hotel with my five youngest children, and I was changing the baby’s diaper on a lounge chair beside the pool. He was 13 months old, and My next oldest was 3. I had the 3-yr old beside me, and was not going to let her back in the water until I could go back in with her. Did you know that 3-yr olds are slippery little suckers when wet – and quick as greased cat shit? The darling angel ducked under me while I was reaching for the clean diaper, and sprinted to the DEEP end of the pool, and took a flying leap as far as she could into the water.

I jumped up, with a diaperless baby boy (thing swingin’) in my arms, and ran to the edge of the pool. I realized before I got there that I could neither put him down to get her (or I would most likely wind up with two floating), nor could I jump in with him, keep both of us above water, and still get her. I did the only thing that I could. The only part I could reach was her head, which was under water, and only then by prostrating myself on the side of the pool, with my entire torso hanging over the edge. I tucked the baby under my legs, to hold him down, and reached across the water to grab a handful of hair. I lifted her STRAIGHT UP out of the water, and then pulled her to the side of the pool (still by her hair). At that point, I was able to use my other arm (that I had been using to keep me from falling in the water), to push myself into a sitting position, and then grabbed her by the arms to lift her out.

I did it without thinking – the entire process from jump to holding her in my arms on the side of the pool probably took less than ten seconds. Maybe less than five. And I noticed, after making sure she was OK, and checking her for any other signs of trauma, that I had several of her hairs in my hand, and on my chest, where I had held her as soon as I got her out. Not enough to make her scalp bleed, but enough to make a red patch that prevented my brushing her hair very well for a few days. We used a lot of cloth headbands for the rest of the week. So, it is entirely possible that the bathroom scene unfolded just the way he claimed.

As to why the baby was being bathed at 3 AM, the baby had reportedly thrown up, which is another indicator of previous head trauma. It can take SEVERAL HOURS for nausea to occur after a head injury – not always, but often enough that a doctor will tell you to keep a very close watch on your child for at least 24 hours after a head injury, to be sure there is no concussion.

I did not say that it was a bruise just that it is bruising. I have been around a lot of kids and seen this type of redness develop into a bruise. The picture posted by Imp in this article looks like this bruising resulted in the look in this picture.

Here’s my two cents:
At this point, I can’t make any kind of judgement that Tyson Chamberlain committed this crime. It’s easy to point fingers and say that everyone other baby killer profiled on this site was guilty so he must be too, but that is neither reasonable nor objective. The fact is that so far, we have NO motive.

There are several things hinky about this case and, after seeing the video of the “parents” I am very suspicious that there is way more to this story that points more towards them than Tyson. We see NO tears from the mother, and NO emotion from the father at all. He just sits there and has a “yeah, what she said” attitude and I found it interesting that she was so ambivalent when it came to Tyson. My gut says she knows more than she’s telling.

After looking at the myspaces of both these men, it becomes clear that Tyson is a man who loves his daughter and is quite proud of her from all the photos in the slideshow. He neither smokes nor drinks, and is thankful for people that helped him when his mother passed. Then we look at the father. He has one whole pic of his kid on his page, but has a whole art gallery on his main page of marijuana references and also writes about his “lost” love and how he has to get her back. It sounds rather stalkerish, IMO.

Then you look at those that come to defend Tyson. By these accounts, he seems to be a real stand-up guy, and if you look at his picture as a whole, and look at the lack of reports from anyone that knows him saying a single bad thing about him, it just doesn’t make sense that he would go from being a good dad and a stand-up guy to a babykiller overnight.

We also have reports of the parents fighting before they left for the evening. How many times have children come in the middle of that and ended up hurt, or worse? I am more willing to believe that this child had previous injuries that resulted in problems later than I am that this man so suddenly and out of character decided to beat him to death. Again, it doesn’t make sense.

What does make sense and would explain some of the injuries is Angel’s account of her experience. Anyone with children (and some of us without) know that things can go south in a hot second and when you’re in such a situation, you don’t take time to plan your moves and figure out what is the best way to approach things. A lot of times one acts on instinct when there is no time to lose, and you may do things and take less care than you would if you have some time to make a decision.

So, I’m not ready to condemn Tyson Chamberlain and believe there’s way more to this story. I think “mom” knows things she’s not telling. and am starting to think that “dad” is involved.

I just watched the video. It didn’t change my mind at all. The fact that the mother was ambivalent about Tyson doesn’t surprise me at all. Chances are, he actually was a stand up guy before all this. Most people wouldn’t leave their child with someone they did not trust. She seemed confused and hurt by all of this. Not everyone falls to pieces when they grieve. Some people grieve privately and fall to pieces alone. I’m sure there was a time when she was sobbing hysterically. Too bad the cameras were not there to catch it all.

As far as the father, I have no doubt he is a complete and total irresponsible asshole. Still doesn’t mean he killed that baby. Like it was said before, with his record and the fact that they fought earlier, the police would have considered him a suspect from the get go. They did not have the proof.

But you’re referring to boyfriends of women with children by a different man. This is different. He wasn’t her boyfriend. He’d taken care of this child many other times without incident and had let her stay in his home to help her out. She lived in their home, saw and interacted with him on a daily basis, saw how he cared for his own child and for all intents and purposes had no reason to be afraid to leave her own child in his care.

I don’t agree that the boyfriends of those women kill because they are jealous of another man’s child. Alot of men date women with children and are not jealous of the children. Many of these recent posts regarding what about comments, like what about Chalise, and most particularly Catlady’s “2 cents” outloud speculation is why I keep wondering what could really have happened. And I do know CPR can cause injuries, one of the reasons the Good Samaritan law was passed years ago. Who knows, I guess it’s like JHJ said, wait and see for now. I also think if I was the babysitter and didn’t know there had been any accident or whatever it was, I would sound like an idiot trying to explain what I thought happened.

And CPR can cause injuries if not done correctly…especially to children whose bodies are smaller, but a damaged colon? Why would he be applying any pressure to the kids abdomen at all during CPR? Its just not right.

Also, the whole bath at 3 am thing bothers me. When my daughter was that age and she got sick in the middle of the night, I would usually just give a quick sponge bath, change her pajamas and her bed linens and if she seemed ok, tried to get her back to sleep. Not a whole bath.

and yet another thing, I can understand pulling a kid up by the hair if that is the easiest thing to grab, but this kid did not have that much hair! It would have been easier to grab his whole head to get him out of the water. Even if he had hair to his feet, wouldn’t it be easier to grab a child that age under the arms to get them out of the water? Who picks a child up by their feet and head at any time. Think about it. You run and grab you child in a panicked hurry. You usually grab them under the arms right?

I never thought of that. I did ask a doctor if adult cpr done on an 8 month old could cause colon damage, her answer was absolutely, since their bodies are so compacted close together and massage was done with a whole hand instead of two fingers on the chest. She said most untrained adults do cpr wrong on adults let alone kids. I too have wondered about the hair, that baby had a short little boy hair cut. I can’t figure out how anybody, mad or panicked, could have pulled his hair out. I don’t know, maybe it was longer than it looked in his picture. Right now I don’t think Heather hurt her own baby, knew it, then left it. And if Tyson didn’t know about any injury at all I think he might have been trying to say things like, I don’t know I must have done this or this must have happened and why a whole bath at 3 am, he’s a guy? I don’t know that either, I would and probably did what you mentioned, unless it was really bad. To me to say it happened in a bath to try and cover blunt force trauma doesn’t add up. Maybe it is all a series of bad accidents. But now the public will want somebody’s head and again one of my many MAYBES that’s why Tyson was arrested.

We spoke with the Phoenix police department about the Easton’s hair.
They said that they were not sure if it the hair was pulled out or if it was an abrasion as if someone had dropped/dragged that child. They were unclear.

The Bath Tub
Tyson put the child in the bath tub to clean off the vomit that Easton had all over himself. He stepped way for a few moments to grab a towel and found Easton face down in minimal water. We all know that easton did not died of drowning.
So if all Tyson did was give Easton a bath then where did all the abrasions come from. Just a Thought but, how about the Fight that Robert and Heather had just hours prior. Could it be possible that they fought with Easton in there arms as they have been seen to do on numerous occasions and someone may have injured Easton in the process? Is it possible that they decided they need to put Easton to bed and leave not knowing how hurt there son was?

You have only one of these going for you (errors), but I have read enough of your posts that it is beginning to bug me.

Please learn the proper use of capital letters, as well as commas and other punctuation. It would also help if you could check words you may not be sure of for spelling mistakes. A dictionary would help with that. Also, if you could brush up on the more common synonyms (there, their, they’re), it would be helpful.

‘Their’ indicates ownership of something (belonging to them)
‘They’re’ is a contraction meaning ‘they are’
Example sentence: “They’re going over there to pick up their child.” It means: “They are going over to that place to pick up the child belonging to them.”

Other frequently misused synonyms on this site are: ‘then/than’, ‘are/our’, ‘know/no’, and ‘here/hear’. I’m not sure if you have misused all of these or not, but it wouldn’t hurt for you to brush up on them anyway.

And before you get all pissy about the fact that you may be overly excited by this discussion, let me remind you that you CAN proofread your posts before hitting the ‘submit’ button. I do. I know the parents and I am sooo sorry for this poor little boy. I agree that something about this story is certainly not making sense. I think more will come out and although I don’t beleive that Heather would hurt her child, she has the responsibility to protect him from others as well. Just a quick question though…this is something that I have been told and I am wondering if any of you have heard it….there were reports made by a physician before the babies death of Easton having bruising….I have a child and I know they can get bruised very easily, especially at that age but I am thinking the bruises would have to have been particularly conscerning for a Dr. to make a report…

I did ask a doctor if adult cpr done on an 8 month old could cause colon damage, her answer was absolutely, since their bodies are so compacted close together and massage was done with a whole hand instead of two fingers on the chest. She said most untrained adults do cpr wrong on adults let alone kids.

Did this doctor also tell you that doing vigorous whole hand CPR on a baby would nearly always cause a fracture of the rib cage and break off the xyphoid process, thereby lacerating the liver and causing massive internal bleeding which would definitely have been noted on the autopsy as “lacerated liver resulting in internal bleeding” rather than “blunt force trauma to the abdomen resulting in colon damage”? If not, the doctor your spoke to didn’t have the facts, or is a moron. Just sayin’.

If chest/rib fractures aren’t listed on the autopsy report, then the colon trauma was NOT caused by CPR, but by a blow to the stomach. End of story. That’s probably why Tyson was arrested. With internal bleeding and intestinal damage, they can tell what time it occurred relevant to the time of death.

Um, the baby ended up dead with a ruptured bowel, that seems pretty much like worst-case badly done CPR to me. I’m just following the logic. Compress a child’s chest hard enough to rupture the bowel, that xyphoid process is coming off, even on a baby. The way Tyson defenders tell it, the guy was just whaling on the baby doing the worst imaginable CPR. You can’t have it both ways. Either he did CPR hard enough to rupture the colon a full hands-breadth lower on the abdomen but incredibly didn’t break the ribs or sternum, or that story doesn’t fly.

The initial medical examiner’s report was released, yes. And granted, a subdural hematoma if one is found in the final report (i haven’t seen it mentioned as yet) might take a little longer to develop, but going on Tyson’s own report that there was vomiting and not just near-immediate coma, then it looks more like a shearing internal brain injury (like from shaking) with resultant swelling. Which generally will cause forceful projectile repeated vomiting within two or three hours. Even a milder concussion usually results in the child tossing their cookies across the room within three or four hours, not to mention the unequal pupil dilation that anyone with half a brain should have immediately noticed.

it’s like I said; either Tyson and Chalice are piss-poor babysitters who weren’t paying any attention to this baby’s medical condition and then did the world’s worst CPR, or they killed Easton Lee.

Tyson and Chalice were sued for rent as recently as September, and it looks like their place was running $1250 a month unless that’s multiple months of back rent. That’s a lot of financial hardship to recover from in six months. Then to take in a mother and child and, according to his friends, provide financially for that mother and child, when Tyson and Chalice weren’t making it okay on their own, tells me there could have been a lot of resentment and financial stress.

Just because they loved their own daughter does not mean they loved their friend Heather’s baby. The financial stresses and just the strain of having prolonged houseguests who use you as a babysitter until after 3 am could have been enough, combined with lack of sleep and an apparently sleeping or otherwise unaccounted-for Chalice, to cause a snap and assault with deadly ramifications.

I’ve no doubt the guy is sorry for what happened, but something did happen, and I haven’t seen the “truth” I keep being told “is coming”. Well, anytime, y’all. Because I keep following the evidence and so far, it keeps coming back to Tyson Chamberlain and/or Chalice Rutherford.

The sources I have for my comments on brain injury are my own years of experience as a traumatic brain injury nurse and hospice nurse for infants and children who were abused and had resultant TBIs. Your personal mileage may vary; my comments are based on cases known to me. Is it barely possible that this case flies beyond the bounds of my medical experience? Yeah, come to think of it so have I. Multiple babies in the bath at once most nights, in order to save time. Like I said, though, I was just offering theories. I know enough about medicine, medical practices, and the human body and its various functions to keep my kids (plus various others at odd times) alive; but, I don’t know enough to be referred to as an expert on the subject, or even have the extensive specialized training that a nurse does. Hell, this is more informational than most college courses, and a shitload more fun, to boot!

But one thing that became very clear during that discussion is that most good parents don’t think it’s okay to leave a healthy baby unattended in a bathtub, even for a minute. If you have a baby who is vomiting and sick, then obviously the need for supervision is much greater.

I agree with this assessment, too. When my kids puke, I put them in an empty tub, turn on warm water, and rinse them continuously with running water without ever stopping up the tub. I would think having a baby in a tub of water with puke floating, would be more likely to promote sickness, than to cure it. All those germs, multiplying in warm water, and coming into contact with the baby’s body would seem a bit unsanitary.

Seems to me, from what you’ve posted here, that you would never have taken a puking infant into a pool in the first place.

Yeah, the only place I take my kids when they are puking is to the bathroom, or to the doctor’s office. However, now that you mention it, there are a few people I know who have pools, that I don’t much care for. I’ll file this little conversation away in my “How to get even” folder, until an opportunity presents itself! See, you are such a good teacher – and helpful too!

I’m glad you do, and I’ll try to keep them coming. Having six kids over a (so far) 19 year span, has given me a plethora of ‘anecdotes’ to share with y’all. I may very well have an anecdote about every situation ever conceived where kids are concerned. And those I haven’t experienced yet, I may very well either experience in the future with one of mine as they age – or better yet, be able to prevent from happening due to my continuing education on this site. This site has been a true “eye-opener” for me. Even with my somewhat fucked-up past, I still didn’t fully grasp the magnitude of potential for human suffering, and the frequency with which people abuse, maim, and kill one another. Truly sickening, but fascinating, nonetheless.

I just read the site as well and apparently Tyson and family left during the fihtin so anything could have happened to the child. I’m going to have to disagree with the very small window impqueen speculated on as results of injuries can be delayed and show up later than two hours (although if impqueen can provide some cites to back up her assertions I’d certainly be open to them). From the info provided on the site, I am more convinced that Tyson is the victim here as well. Those “parents” are a piece of work and the “mother” is a classic “but I loooooovvve him” kind of dependent that can’t put down the penis. Tyson gave them money to help with their son’s curcumcision and they instead use it to go barhopping? Scum.

The baby was awake and in the care of Tyson and Chalice when Heather and Robert left according to the website. If the baby had all those injuries why didn’t they get medical attention for him instead of putting him to bed. Now we are hearing that Tyson and Chalice left when the fighting started. How do they know it was bloody? How do they know Robert beat Heather with a flip flop (which has no blood on it that i can see)? I am also reading over there that Robert, Heather and Easton all had cuts and marks on them. I don’t see any marks on Robert and Heather in the pic’s or video. Easton had cuts and marks on him??? OK again……medical attention for the injuries??? Nope apparently they put him to bed.

As for money given to Heather by Tyson for Easton’s circumcision? Nice story if it’s true but since Tyson was being sued for rent it doesn’t make much sense to me.

Yep the dad has a long record and has spent time in prison too. All I saw was armed robbery and drug charges though. He isn’t a good guy as far as I am concerned but prison’s are full of guys who commit all kinds of crimes and still hate baby killers.

I had to do something about the guy. I had five of my kids at home for spring break last week (and this week as well). I don’t need to look for things that cause headaches, my kids do a wonderful job of that with no help at all from Mr. Icantspell. I was on the verge of going either cross-eyed or crazy. And since we already have at least one of the former, and several of the latter who made an appearance here in the last week, I figured both positions were already filled. LOL.

When your friend turns out to be a killer it makes you question yourself. His friends will hang on to the hope that he’s not a killer because if they say they would have trusted their own children to him, then it becomes scary to think how easily this could have been their baby.

Personal story for the regulars, about 8 years ago someone I thought I knew and trusted and cared for murdered a girl. When I was in high school my friend, Sean, would come over to my house to visit me and if there was anything he could help my family with, he would. He would mow the yard for my dad, for christsake. After graduation he became my sister’s roommate. I got the chance to see him prove his loyalty and affection for me everytime it was needed. About a year later, he moved to California. Nine months after that my sister calls me to say Sean’s been arrested for murder. At first, we all said “no way.” There was even a very good alternative scenario we held out hope for. There was no DD then, so although I doubt I would have taken a public position on defending him, I didn’t want to believe it. The facts of the case made it so horrifying: he had raped a 15-year-old girl, bashed her head repeatedly into a wall, stabbed her numerous times, then had the capacity to walk to the gas station, buy gas, return to her corpse and set her on fire. Not easy to digest when it’s someone who you would have trusted your life to.

It makes you question the character of the people you know. You will grieve for the loss of your friend, not the monster they turned out to be, but the amazing person you thought they were.

Tyson’s supporters will fight to the end for him, because they are fighting for themselves here too. They want him to be the good guy who was always there for them, so they don’t have to examine how wrong they could have been.

I am Heather’s friend, so I don’t see this the way they do, but I know why they are fighting against everything that has been said. No, I don’t like the personal attacks on Heather by Tyson’s supporters, the police didn’t arrest her, or Easton’s father, there’s a reason for that. A word of advice, no matter how you try and change public opinion, it won’t matter. If your friend gets convicted in a court of law, it won’t matter how many people in the general public you convinced of his innocence. You will not be in that court room arguing this to a jury, which is the only place it matters. You can beat your head into a wall as long as you like, no one will stop you, and in the end, the only person you hurt is yourself.

She simply stated that she had been in an eerily similar situation a few years back. And her friend had never shown any antisocial tendencies until the assault which got him arrested, either.
