Kansas City, MO – Three of Hazel Byes’ adult children have been arrested because they thought it was okay to leave their mother lying in her own waste for years on end. Is it Asshat Week in Missouri, or what? Byes, 85 and bedridden, was removed from her home by firefighters who had been called to help get Byes to the hospital. Firefighters called police after finding Byes in bed with the mattress indented and covered in what appeared to be dried human feces. There were no bedpans or portable toilets in the home.
Police are not yet naming the arrested adult children, saying only that they are two daughters and a son aged 46 to 50. One daughter who was not arrested, Mether Byes, says that their mother had “health problems”, but that her siblings did not abuse or neglect her. Byes said her mother had bed sores, but she said, “we took care of my mom the best way we could.†Which, apparently, included leaving the woman in her own filth until her skin broke down and she went septic. Got it.
Neighbors report that the smell of human waste was so overwhelming it was noticeable outdoors several houses away. They said they believed the smell was coming from diapers in outdoor trash cans, as none of them had ever been inside the home or seen the elderly victim outside.
Byes is in critical condition at an area hospital. Police are still investigating to determine which charges should be filed, and against whom.

That’s pretty extreme to be able to smell the “stench of human waste” a few houses away!! (one poopie diaper in a Ladies room can about knock you over!) Wherever there is the “stench of human waste” (and assuming garbage, rotting food, and dirty dishes laying about…), the house was probably cockroach infested too. Ick!

I don’t understand the fact 3/4 kids at that ages were living in that house, did they also have kids spending time there either living or visiting on weekend.
if she was bed ridden and they were that lazy they could of gotten her in an assisted living fac. That is indeed where she will go now.

My guess is she won’t make it. She’s 85, has been neglected and is septic from bed sores….doesn’t sound to promising. Her asshat kids apparently don’t remember that once they needed cared for and their Mother changed their goddamn diapers. That’s the thanks this woman got for raising her fucking kids, being treated worse than a fucking animal. Despicable!

they did the best they could i know then and i lived on that block for years they are clean ppl who did everything they could for there mother. What the news didnt tell was why would they change their work hours so someone could be home with her at all times. she was always feed okay maybe she did lay im human waste but she was also a big lady. i wonder how many fire fighters it took to roll her over more then three if so how can two girls and one man do it with out help. we are so quick to judge but we never know the facts. We dont know what went on in that house all we know is that she passed away and yall are dowing her kids. I hope she rest in peace and her kids never see this because it would crush them. and the cops must of didnt have anything on them because they aint been charged so you just damned an inoccent family.

Ummm, NO, there is something that they could’ve done, Called IN HOME CARE, or HOSPICE…. Trained & Qualified to take care of a bedridden person, even when they are “large”, so yeah, they may be getting “reamed” in your eyes but, they deserved it. I’m sorry the Mom had to pass away from the (non) care she received from her own children. If you cannot be a caretaker, call SS, they will put you in touch with the right folks to do just that, usually Social Security pays for it, too! If there were 3 & 4 people living there, they should’ve been able to move her together, that’s all it would’ve taken to clean the feces off of her, then she wouldn’t have been septic & ultimately die from that & bedsores. Her children should be praying that they never become bedridden…What you sow is what you reap!
