Cheryl White Is A Terrible Nanny

South Carolina - After seeing a report on nanny abuse, Wesley Locklair set up a hidden camera in his house to keep an eye out on the nanny he had hired to watch his 5-month-old baby girl. What they captured was Cheryl White, 60, the nanny they had hired based on her almost grandmother-like properties, shaking the shit out of their baby, picking the infant up by it’s limbs as well as covering the infant’s face to keep it quiet. White is charged with unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person by legal custodian and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
Locklair, a lawyer, said he checked references who recommeneded White as well as White’s criminal background, which came back clean. White’s lawyer has not commented on the tape because he states he has only seen what was played in the media. He is a bit pissed that only a few minutes of a 9 hour tape has been shown. I guess his logic is that if Cheryl had spent 8 hours and 58 minutes singing lullabyes to the infant and doing magic tricks that consisted of clowns and ponies, we would cancel out the two minutes in which she was shaking the baby like a maraca.
Anyway, until her court date, she was released on home detention after posting a 1,200 dollar bond. She and her husband have declined to talk to the media.

No points for any of the good deeds, bitch, if there’s even a SECOND of abuse. The good doesn’t mitigate the bad; the bad cancels out the good.
Maybe the ‘grandmotherly’ woman has Alzheimers….and if she doesn’t yet, we should shake the hell out of her until she develops a few symptoms of it.

OMG!! That is so disheartening to see that poor little baby being shaken like that!! When are (frustrated) adults going to realize that SHAKING a crying infant doesn’t quiet them down?!?! Just leave the room if you can’t handle it, go shake a pillow or a bottle of salad dressing! Then come back and care for the baby when you have all your frustrations out of your system!

What amazes me about the video is that the baby doesn’t even seem to be throwing a really good tantrum to begin with. I realize the tape is cut, but it looks like White just walks over and starts playing “time to shake the baby” like she’s the tambourine player for Wilson-Phillips.

At least the parents installed a camera. If not, they’d still be at work, thinking their daughter was in the best of hands … clean-background-checked, grandmotherly hands. Only, thanks to the video, now everyone knows they’re really Abuser Hands.

Hi.. I am new here.. I highly doubt this bitch has alzheimers.. If this were so, I would be inclinded to think she would not have been able to play herself off to the parents as this sweet and trustworthy individual she obviously has painted herself as..
She had to have KNOWN what she was doing was wrong… I mean hell, it has been ingrained in everyones heads for as long as I can remember anyway, that you NEVER,EVER, SHAKE A BABY!!!!

Yeah, I know – that was sarcasm. My MIL had it, and there is no mistaking the symptoms. Just used it as an intro to my suggestion of punishment for her.

This may be weird but, my first instinct was that she was shaking the baby in order to make her cry so she could then comfort her.
Kinda like Munchausen’s or something.
Really disturbing, if that was my baby girl crying like that it would take a miracle to keep me from tracking her ass down after she was released and beating the shit out of her.

As I watched that video I just wanted to cry. Then watching that woman try to “cuddle” that baby just turned my stomach a little more.
Holding my baby girl who is 6 months old a little tighter, all I can think is to thank my husband for giving up working to be home with her… I cannot imagine what I would do if someone hurt my little miracle like that… I certainly wouldn’t be making media comments… probably from a jail cell.

That is definitely the same video! It makes me even madder to see the full version. Did you see her push the bottle out of the baby’s way? Not only did she shake her but she pushed, pulled and it looks like maybe she was pinching her.
I understand getting frustrated when a baby won’t stop crying. (we all do)But all she had to do was walk away. There is nothing wrong with putting the baby in the bouncy seat and walking a way for a minute to calm down.

That was a weird clip she pics the baby up scares the shit out of her, shakes her around and then holds her close and hugs her??? WTF? I wouldn’t have taken the video to the police. I would bring it to her house, play it, turn around and beat the fuck out of her! Fucking Bitch!

I was thinking that too. It was like she did it so she could cuddle the baby, which would indicate a deeper mental issue than just the frustration. Similar to munchhausen (sp).
The entire thing is disgusting, the old bitch wouldn’t leave my home intact. Period.

I don’t believe she was “holding her close” in an affectionate way…I believe she was attempting to cut off the baby’s air in an attempt to stop her from crying. At least that was my first thought when I saw it.

I’m thinking that if you think you need a “nanny cam”, you need to get a new nanny (and skip the cam). (I read that bit o’ advice in a book, not sure if I can mention the name here, but it’s one I’d highly recommend.)
