“wats gud girl? wen u gon cum up here and get me?? i could possibly be charged wit CHILD NEGLECT!!! becuz i was watchin nicholas tha otha night n da next mornin i woke up n Nick was gon…i figured Sami came and got him. But i guess not becuz wit in an hour of me wakin up and thinkin sami came and got nick tha police was outside….i guess they found Nick walkin down da road…the police picked him up and took him to DSS, well i had to go to da police station n fill out a statement n da cops told me that its a possibilty that i could be facin child neglect charges….n mama said dat sami said dat i am no longer allowed to see nicholas n e more….SO FUCK HER AND HER FAMILY….everybody actin like i threw nicholas ass in da road n told him go ahead get hit by a car……..I AM READY TO LEAVE NORTH CAROLINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CUM GET ME ASAP!!!!!!! What Melissa fails to mention is that Nicholas was found wandering the streets before noon. It was not until after 3:00 p.m. that police made contact with her. At no point, apparently, did Melissa think to call her sister Sami to check and see if she had picked up the boy. Neither did it occur to her to get ahold of Christina Sequin, 22, the other adult who had been in the house earlier that day, to see if she had the child. Sequin, who is a sister of Conners and also an aunt to Nicholas,  left the toddler boy sitting in front of the television when she left the home and locked the door – but she did not wake up Melissa Conners. So we’re batting a thousand for idiocy in that house so far.
I don’t know why I’m surprised that Melissa Conners’ Myspace looks like she’s Felicia Mikels’  chubby cousin. I shouldn’t be. And yet I never cease to be amazed that these people put themselves on public sites smoking pot and acting like nobody will ever see their pictures. Too late, Melissa Conners. We have seen, and we are amused. You are an idiot and should have put down the blunt long enough to watch your nephew.
Authorities are still deciding what charges to file but have said that they do plan to file them. I’m going to bet on child neglect and/or reckless endangerment.

About 20 years ago some “parents” on my street didn’t bother to get up when their 3 little boys did. Well, the kids found a lighter and managed to set the recliner on fire, then ran and “hid” in their room because they knew they were in trouble.
The worthless parents made it out, but the boys burned to death.

That child belongs to one of the sisters – I’m not sure if that child is Nicholas’s sister, or his cousin, but she’s not Melissa’s kid. There are several sisters in the family, one of whom died of cancer and the other 3 or four seem to be pretty much cut from the same cloth – party, party, party.

I can’t believe that she expected her family to act any differently after what she did. How can she be mad at their actions? I don’t know, y’all, reading about this is kind of a relief for me. Now I will be able to get a lot more sleep. I realize now, since Melissa has brought it to our attention, that hell, kids can take care of themselves these days. Now I can sleep in till noon, happy in the knowledge that my two- and four-year olds will be fully capable of taking care of things while I doze. I’m sure they’ll be able to root around in the pantry to find their own breakfast, and maybe even lunch. And if the food supplies get low, well, there’s a Dollar General a block away, and they can walk down there to restock. I’ll just leave a few signed checks with the cashier so she can fill them out, since the little ones don’t write so well.
I can really work with this y’all! I could teach my seven- and eight-year olds to cook, and then I can sleep through supper as well. And if I give my fourteen-year old the keys to the van, and a few driving lessons, she can drive herself to and from color guard and drill team practice. Hell, I might never have to leave the house again! I’ll teach them all to do their own laundry, and put the alarm clock in the oldest one’s bedroom so she can get the other two ready and on the bus in the mornings.
And best of all, if anybody gets mad at me, especially anyone from my family, I can just tell them to FUCK OFF! Gee, I wish I had known allof this much sooner; if I had actually been able to get all of the beauty sleep that I’ve done without in the last 18 years, I’d probably look like one of those supermodels, instead of more closely resembling the woman who walks around with all of her possessions in a grocery cart. Maybe it’s not too late – if I start today………..

I think Mom is just as much to blame, If we can go on tard asses my space page and see what a loser she is i am sure the sister knows as well. Oh come on now, you’re not serious are you? I am sure the Mother had no idea this shit was going to happen. The adult who left the child and did not wake up the other adult, would seem to me as much to blame, but the Mother….nah, I don’t see any indication that she is to blame in this incident. Seems like she was depending on family members to help her out. Which is who I turn to first when I need my children watched, too bad they….( her family members), did some irresponsible baby-sitting, and put her child’s life in danger.

Well, hell, Suki, $7.50 an hour isn’t even enough to pay for my nap time…I charge my hubby $20.00 an hour just to keep the brats out of the mothballs and rat poison. If he actually wants continuous supervision, it’s much more! LOL.
Yeah, these bitches are all pretty clueless. I still don’t see how a person can just drop a kid off (any age) with the nearest friend, relative, or acquaintance. I have relatives I wouldn’t leave my kids in the same room with, much less let them babysit. Just because they are related, doesn’t mean they aren’t retarded.

And Hippie, I am really glad you have family that is good enough to help you with your kids, and responsible enough to keep them safe. Not all families are like that though. Any random selection of stories from this site will tell you that. Her sister is barely literate, and apparently has a selfish streak a mile wide. That is not the kind of person you want to leave a kid with. If she grew up with her sis in the same house, she had to have known this.
I have two sisters. My younger sis is very responsible, and I would trust her with my kids. My older sis is responsible – but only as far as her life is concerned – and I have a rule that she cannot be alone with my children. Not because I think she would intentionally hurt them; I’m sure she wouldn’t. But because I don’t think she is responsible enough to keep them from hurting themselves.
