If I thought it would take away the toothache, I would hire someone to beat me up. And vodka is probably not a good idea, as it makes me mean, and I don’t want to end up as a front page story on the Dreamin’Demon.
I do, however, have an update on my tooth for y’all….It’s not just sinuses, or sensitivity this time….I have an abscessed tooth…I went to the pharmacy, got some antibiotics, and started taking them…..If it’s not any better by Monday, I guess I’ll have to break down and go to the dentist… and thanks to nurseronda and totemic for the advice…..I have been taking two extra strength tylenol every 6 hours, and an 800mg motrin 3 x a day, between doses of the tylenol. It doesn’t get rid of the pain, but it does keep me from wanting to cut off my own head …….for the most part….Thanks again, and love to all.

Angel… Sorry to hear about your tooth pain. Personally, I would rather take a beating than have a toothache. Another home remedy is vodka. Swish it around. You can swallow or spit out. Good luck.

Angel, I too have poor enamel on my teeth and I found the following to really help me out. 4-5 advil and 2 aleve. Will actually make it through most of the day without pain.

You have to be very careful when taking an overdose of meds…Can cause kidney failure and liver damage.

Angel, maybe sinus problems are involved with your teeth. I had one tooth pulled and all my sinus pain went away like magic. Years of suffering because of that damned molar.

You’re probably right, but that’s not all of it I’m afraid. I have taken allergy meds, as well as sinus meds in the last couple days. I have a hereditary vascular condition, which causes vitamin deficiencies, which in turn causes weak enamel, and extremely sensitive teeth. All of my drinks, from coffee to milk have to be pretty close to room temp before I can drink them, and ice cream is an exercise in sheer self torture. Hot/cold sensitivity is the bane of my existence, and with the outside temp dipping below freezing for the past few days, I have been trying to avoid even walking near a window or outside door, unless I have to take one of the kids somewhere (which seems to be several times a day). If you are a believer, prayers are appreciated, if not, just try sending some warm and fuzzy thoughts my way, please. *clawing frantically at my gums*

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, I have done the warm salt water, and now the rubbing of my teeth and gums with powdered cloves (and, boy is that a nasty taste! Tastes great in cooking and baking, but really horrible alone). I really don’t expect anything to help. I have very sensitive teeth and gums, and when the temp outside drops below freezing, as it has for the last few days, it feels like someone is running a serrated blade all around the inside of my mouth. Add to that a hereditary blood disorder which causes vitamin deficiencies, and I am basically screwed until the weather warms up. I think the only way to permanently stop this problem is to have all of my teeth yanked out, but that would make eating pretty difficult, wouldn’t it? Maybe one day I’ll win the lottery, and be able to get me some of those implants (teeth, not boobs). Until then, I guess I will just spend the really cold days in a state of moderate to intense pain from toothaches. And eat tylenol and motrin like m&ms. LOL. Ow, laughing kinda hurts right now too. *so I’ll just wink*
