WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — When 18-year-old Christoper Ott woke up on Thursday morning, he found his mother and father dead. Barbara and MichaelMichael reviewsMichael reviews, both 57, had died an extremely violent and bloody death. Michael was found in the bathroom with numerous stab wounds and a floor covered in blood and Barbara was found in the bedroom laying across the bed and had also had multiple stab wounds. MissingMissing reviewsMissing reviews was their other son, 24-year-old Mark Ott.

But not for long. He was found driving the family vehicle around 4 p.m. and brought in for questioning. He has had run-ins with police before, and it is being reported that he had recently took himself off of…wait for it…you already know, don’t you? You got it…his bi-polar medication. His parents were well known in the town, as Barbara had been township deputy treasurer for the past 10 years and Michael was an electrician who did a lot of work for the township offices.

2/24/08 UPDATE –  Police found a notebook in Mark Ott’s bedroom with notes on how to kill people, how to clean up blood, and how to get away with jewelry, credit cards, and the like.  Because killing someone means you have to get rid of all the evidence EXCEPT your notes.

When Ott was found, he was sitting in his parents’ Kia  in Detroit.  In the car were televisions and guns from the home, and Mark had written “get car, get jewelry, cut up CCs” on his hand in ink.  Seriously, y’all, if this doesn’t qualify for diminished capacity, well, I don’t know what does.   Ott was in court on SaturdaySaturday reviewsSaturday reviews to be arraigned on murder charges in the deaths of his parents, and when asked if he understood his rights and wanted an attorney he said “Yeah, I think so.”

Ott’s uncle, Gary Knight, told press that Mark and his parents had fought sometimes, but nothing violent.  He said that Mark’s parents had tried to get their son help, but that he “never liked  medications”.  “They loved him to death”, Knight said.  Yes, they did.

LOOKS like a Hobbit? He is a Hobbit. An imaginary race similar to humans, of small size, with hairy feet. (smile, wink)

Remind me to force feed those pills, grind em’ up in breakfast or…. Better yet, remind me how I should never listen to the drug companies who say they are beneficial in the first place.

That’s what happens when you fuck with the chemical balance of the brain.

    once again….

It all starts with installing an automatic constricting choke type collar with sensors on the “Could go fuggin crazy and kill people” guy or girl.

The drug companies start making their “don’t go fuggin crazy and kill people” pills with a chip inside that the collar mentioned above detects as the “could go fuggin crazy and kill people” guy or girl swallows it.

If the “could go fuggin crazy and kill people” guy or girl forgets or decides to stop taking their “don’t go fuggin crazy and kill people” pills, the collar starts to constrict around their throat as a “reminder” to take their “don’t go fuggin crazy and kill people” pills.

If the “could go fuggin crazy and kill people” guy or girl decides they are not going to take the “Don’t go fuggin crazy and kill people” pill, then the collar constricts and cuts off all air until their “looks like I could go fuggin crazy and kill people” eyes pop out from under their waxed brow turning them into a “never gonna go fuggin crazy and kill people” guy or girl.

i’m not the spokesperson for mental illness but bi polar comes in different categories. it is a term that is, in my opinion, over used.

it used to be referred to as manic depression and until different pharmaceuticals came out, lithium was the treatment of choice.

full onset of manic episodes can wreak havok but it is someone experiencing psychotic episodes that tend to be the culprits of
violence upon others. manic depressives are known for causing
themselves bodily harm when not in balance with their meds.
manic episodes arent always pretty for those around the person having the mania, true.

several drugs are used to treat patients put into the bipolar1, bipolar2 and cyclothymic categories. some of the drugs are anti seizure, anti psychotic-not lithium so much anymore. stopping many of these “new” drugs, without a wean off period, can be dangerous biz.

anyhoo-manic depression has long been misunderstood as have all mood disorders.

mania and psychosis are different. in any event-whatever this dude
was diagnosed as, and whatever he was taking for meds would be interesting to know-to me.

i’m tired of hearing mental illness used for an excuse for breaking the law/causing harm to others.

Mark Ott has been charged with murder:

His parents “loved him to death”, said an uncle.

The judge asked him if he understood his rights.
He answered, “Yes, I think so.”

He THINKS SO — basis for an appeal. He didn’t really understand his rights. Ugh.

During the arraignment, White Lake Township police stated they found notebook writings by Mark Ott detailing how to kill someone, clean up the blood, and make a get-a-way. The pages also reportedly included a list of things to steal from his parents’ home.

“Some notebook pages were found. It was more of a to-do list on things to do after committing a homicide,” said White Lake Police Lt. Ed Harris.

    I knew Mark Ott.
There is a lot more to this story than most people know.
Oh and btw, when he actually shaves he doesnt look so much like a hobbit.
Although hobbits are a bit creepy, so I guess they have that in common.

    Thanks.
Mark had a lot of hatrid for his parents and in his own mind it was justifiable.
He had gotten into trouble when he was younger and as he got older his parents kicked him out of the house.
When I first met him he was homeless, living in a patch of woods behind a wal-mart store because his parents wouldnt take their troublesome child back into their home.
It is true that he was bi-polar and also skitzo. When I met him he always had a really creepy vibe (I met him through my cousin, whom he considered his best friend) but I never feared it. He was never openly mean or evil in any way, shape or form. Actually when I knew him he seemed almost like a regular kid, albet homeless.
The only reason he went back to his parents let him back into their home is because the state forced them too. Thats one of my biggest issues with this. The newspapers here in Michigan say that his parents loved him more than anything and wanted to help him in any way possible and maybe they did, but they didn’t show it.
Anyways, once his parents took him back in he was taking medication. After so long his parents decided they didn’t want to pay for it anymore, hence the reason he wasent taking his med’s anymore. It wasent that he just didn’t want them, it was that he had no way to get them.

I don’t know, I could type for hours about this kid, truely I could. I could talk about his brother and why his brother was left alive even though he hated him as much as he hated his parents. I could probably explain why he left the notebook at home in detail, but it would all be a guess.

In the end I just want to be able to shed a little bit of light on Marks side of the story considering no one else is willing to step forward and tell it. Don’t get me wrong, I think its horrible what he did to his parents, but I was his friend and still to an extent am even though I had not seen him for about 4 months before he commited the murders.

Y’know, i’d kind of think that someone diagnosed with bipolar and schizophrenia could get SSI and have their meds covered by the state. Or, at worst, the meds would help stabilize him enough that he could work and pay for them, since he was living at home and had no rent. I wonder why neither of those things happened?

Someone needs to step up for his parents – as Amberalert did for Mark. I am sure his parents loved him and tried to help him in everyway possible. From my understanding most of the time he left on his own and preferred living in the woods, it wasn’t always his parents fault he was homeless. (There is always 2 sides to every story)

How do you force someone to take medication that they do not want to take? How do you handle your son when he gets violent towards you or goes into a violent rage and destroys the home on several occasions? How do you help someone who refuses help-treatment? What do you do when the help he did receive doesn’t work? How do you keep your family together when they all fear for their own safety because of an illness? If they would have kicked him out this last time, perhaps they would still be alive today.

It’s not that they didn’t love him or tried to help him- all of their options were exhausted and no other help was available.

i know this kid, i played pee wee football with him as kids. his mom was a sweet heart, she use to give us (like 5 kids) rides to practice everyday, his mom was friendly and nice. i don’t remeber their dad much but know he use to work a lot. mark was always quiet, i always thought he was a mama’s boy!! i’m suprised to say the least, and the earlier posting stated his parents kicked him out….well he must have been stealing from them and other things cause one thing is for sure, they were loving parents and them kids were spoiled!!!

Looks like he had a pretty good plan….too bad it didnt work huh? lol… Its kinda hard tho…a mentally competant person is easy to blame…they know what they are going.. but someone who really has no control of their actions…idk I guess you feel bad for them. “There is always 2 sides to every story” (pixiestik) I guess thats what Im saying…Theres no way to know!

I dont think this is such a case tho, the dumbass had it all planned out! And assuming he is found guilty and mentally sound he’s gana do even more time for the fact that it was premeditated. Oooopppsieedasiee! What a tard…

I’d like to clear a few things up about Amber Alerts comments. First of all these are hearsay from the mouth of a person that knew Mark for no more than a few months and his parents not at all. Second, all of the information that Amber Alert supposedly knows is from the mouth of a man that was diagnosed bi-polar disorder and paranoid schiozophrenic. Nothing about his versions of any given story come from a rational and logically processing mind, especially in regards to his parents.

He was and might still be under the belief that mental illness does not exist. He didn’t beleive that there was anything mentally wrong with himself and that was the real reason for the fact that he was on and off meds all his life.

The state did not force his parents to take him in. Do you really think that the state has the right to force people to house legal adults? Once you are over 18, if there happens to be a housing issue, it is yours and yours alone–anything that family does to help is by their own choice and their love for the person.

His parents were very good people and do not deserve for idiots that never met them to be making statements to the entire world about if they cared enough for their children.

Don’t take any of this the wrong way. I am not attacking Mark. I am defending his parents.

This is aimed directly at Amber Alert. I don’t know if you will ever see it, but I very much hope so. Just because you happen to have met somenone that was in the news does not mean that you know the news story or are qualified to report it. You apparently know next to nothing about Mark and his family and half of what you do know are simply regurgitated ramblings of a mentally unstable individual passed through you because you wanted to feel more important than you actually are for a minute.

Think you got something worth saying? Type it out. If you don't wanna look lame, get rid of that default avatar and go get you a gravatar! Tell 'em Morbid sent ya'. Lastly, as far as we are concerned, posting a comment means that you have read our Disclaimer.
