Jacob A. Jett Is A Spoiled Rotten Brat

Kansas City, MO — What a freakin’ brat. Jacob Jett, 18, is a senior at Truman High School in Independence, a suburb of Kansas City. He also can’t wait to inherit. Now Jacob and his friend Joseph Garcia are in jail because they tried to hire a hit man to kill Jacob’s parents, Richard and Robyn Parnell.
Jacob’s Myspace is set to private, but it does give us a look at him. As of February 13, he’s “the guy you never thought of…”, he’s lonely, and he’s using a picture of himself before his hair grew out. According to Truman High’s website, he is not a member of National Honor Society. No surprise there, because if he was really smart, he wouldn’t have offered two hit men $260, a debit card, three pistols and the alarm code to his parents’ home to carry out the plot.
Yes, denizens of the Demon, that is precisely what this little snotrag tried to do. He talked to his friend Joseph, who hooked him up with a couple of guys who said, sure, they’d off some parents. More likely they were gonna rob the snotrag kids, but actually they ended up talking to the cops after one of the hitmen got picked up for a parole violation. Which was a smart thing to do. Talking to cops = smart. Planning to have people put the hit on your parents = stupid.
Obviously this Jett boy is new to mayhem. See, I know a little bit about Jett boys, and let me tell you that Jett boys go one of two ways – they are either brilliantly successful or they become very familiar with the term “epic fail” despite their parents’ best efforts. Our boy Jacob is, sadly, of the latter variety. Because duh, moron, you do not give the hit men the PINPin reviews
number to the checking account. Neither do you give them the alarm code to the house unless you want all the goodies stolen. Oh, I know what Jacob was thinking – with that inheritance, you can buy more, right? Oh no. Because chances are, Jacob, that you were going to have an executor and a trustee to deal with, and they weren’t just gonna hand over the assets. Jacob, Jacob, Jacob, you are making the family look bad. Shame on you!
Beyond that, he was gonna Kill. His. Parents. What a rotten excuse for a son. See, Jacob, you need parents later, for things like college, and to be there for your children when you have them, and to hang out with and be friends when you’re older. They’re good to track your family tree and to have holidays with and to tell you what a brat you were when you were a kid, only they’re supposed to get to laugh when they say that. Jacob was adopted into the bargain, so a little gratitude might have gone a long way, but noooooo. Jacob is just stepping on my last nerve today.
I can’t imagine what his parents must be feeling. Robyn Parnell was tearful in a phone interview on Wednesday, saying that Jacob was adopted as an infant, was an only child and that “it came out of nowhere. He was a very good child. He’s never done anything like this before.” That poor mom. She and her husband gave this kid everything, and he responds with “see ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya”? Jerk.
That Joseph Garcia is pissing me off, too. What the hell, kid? Your friend offer you a cut of Dad’s stereo? Nice nose pimple, snotrag. Asshat. Other names. Although I’ll give Garcia this, at least he has the sense to look ashamed of himself in his mugshot.
Jacob Jett and Joseph Garcia will be arraigned on attempted murder and armed criminal action during their next court appearance MarchMarch reviews 31. Both are in custody as of Wednesday, being held on a $250,000 bond. I hope Joseph Garcia’s nose pimple goes away by the end of March, or those arraignment pics are gonna be heinous.

Sounds like mom is living in an alternate reality if she looks into the eyes of her little darling and cannot see the evil hatred there. You bet he’s never done anything like this before–she’d already be dead if he had! Duh! Lucky for her he picked such successful hitmen.

Wow, I do feel really bad for the mom. It seems to me, and I could be wrong, but a disproportionate amount of adopted kids end up in trouble, even when they are adopted young and the adoptive parents love them as their own child. I knew this guy that was adopted, and his dad would spoil the hell out of him. The family was well off, upper middle class I would say. The guy was a heroin and coke addict, he had no college education, and would work odd jobs here and there like at restaurants or lawn service. He was really depressed, and really lazy. I knew his family very well and I can say that his dad did everything he could to help him. He paid to put him in rehab countless times in the nicest facilities, only to have him come out and start getting high again. He was very loving and affectionate toward him, I remember once when he was worried about him going out and doing drugs again, they hugged and the dad started crying.
My point is, my opinion is that a lot of children who are abandoned by their bio parents seem to never quite overcome the pain. No matter how much their adoptive parents love them. This may just be my perception, so please guys tell me your opinion. Either way it’s just sad

I am an adoptive parent. My daughter was three weeks old when we brought her home. Personally, I think a large part of the problem with adopted kids getting into trouble is that the parents tend to try to over-compensate for the adoption. They are spoiled. They’re given everything they want and told what wonderful kids they are. Then, when they get older and reality hits…well, you have situations like this. They can’t handle the truth.
There are hundreds of thousands of adoptions every year in the US. The majority of those kids grow up to be “normal.”

Solange822001, that is a question that I have wrestled with in my mind for a long time. I have read about a study that demonstrated that no matter what kind of “raising” a kid receives, during adolescence she/he reverts to the I.Q. level of their parents. I have also read of many adopted kids who just plain turn out bad like the one you described — genetics? I don’t know.
Here at DD, we don’t hear about the success stories, of course. No one gets in a crime blog for being a good daughter or son!
So I’ll continue to wrestle with this question. I’d like to hear what others think, too.

Another one that somehow got missed – A severely conscience-impaired juvenile delinquent, suffering from an extreme case of cranio-rectal inversion. (for those who aren’t familiar with the term, a cranio-rectal inversion means exactly what it sounds like – the kid’s got his head stuck so far up his ass, he can lick his own armpit – from the inside!)

I have read studies (they are out there) that say most adopted children are not at risk to have “bad” behaviors any more than non-adopted children, but, it does depend on what substances the child was exposed to during pregnancy, how happy or miserable the mother was during the pregnancy and what the adoptive parents tell them about their bio-mother……Adopted Males are more at risk all in all, their feelings toward their bio-moms make a huge impact on how they will react to females, in general…. I’m pretty sure that the geneticists have located the gene that is passed down from bio-parents with addictions, not every child is born with it however. So, I believe if you can inherit a gene for addiction, then there is probably an evil gene that is inherited,too. They probably just haven’t located it yet……
